Rise in the Martial Chaos: Starting From a Martial Arts School

Yang Jing paused instinctively at her words, his brow furrowing slightly. He carefully searched his mind for any memory of the name.

The name sounded vaguely familiar, as if he had heard other disciples mention it in passing, but he couldn’t recall any details.

He quickly lowered his head and replied respectfully, ”Senior Sister, I’m afraid I’m ignorant. I don’t know what the Cyan Qilin Battle is.”

Si Jiawen nodded slightly and slowed her pace. As they walked, she began to explain, ”The Battle of the Cyan Qilin Platform, also known as the Cyan Qilin Battle among the sect’s disciples, is a competition established specifically for the Inner Sect Disciples of the Main Peak and the Seven Veins.

”However, the competition has two restrictions. First, participants must be Inner Sect Disciples who have not yet broken through to the Qi Eating Realm. Second, disciples must have been promoted to the Inner Sect within the last five years.”

Her voice was cool and clear as she continued, ”The sect has a saying: five years is enough time for a promising disciple to temper their foundation and attempt a breakthrough to the Qi Eating Realm. If they still haven’t succeeded after five years, it proves their talent and potential are limited, and the sect will no longer consider them a priority for special training.”

Yang Jing listened with intense focus, his hands by his sides clenching unconsciously. He committed every one of Si Jiawen’s words to memory.

Si Jiawen continued, ”The primary purpose of the Cyan Qilin Battle is to identify promising disciples from the younger generation. Anyone who can distinguish themselves in the battle proves they have the talent and disposition worthy of the sect’s full investment.”

She paused before adding, ”The Cyan Qilin Battle is held once a month. Any disciple who meets the criteria can register to participate as many times as they like; there’s no limit.”

At this point, a hint of emotion entered Si Jiawen’s voice. ”If you can win first place in the monthly Cyan Qilin Battle, one of the rewards is ten days of free access to the sect’s Level B Training Rooms. Second and third place have their own rewards as well.”

”Level B Training Room?” Hearing those four words, Yang Jing’s eyes lit up. His heart skipped a beat, and an irrepressible wave of excitement washed over him.

He stared at Si Jiawen’s back, a fervent gleam in his eyes. The reward had struck a deep chord with him.

According to Xuanzhen Sect rules, outer sect disciples could only rent the lowest-level, Level D Training Rooms, while Inner Sect Disciples could rent Level C Training Rooms. The concentration of the Exotic Beast Musk Aroma varied between the different levels of rooms, and so did the resulting boost to one’s cultivation.

The Level D Training Rooms were, arguably, the biggest reason Yang Jing had been able to reach the Peak of Transformation so quickly.

’If the Level D Training Rooms were already this effective, how much more potent would the Level B rooms be?’

’Would a single day of cultivation in there be equivalent to three days outside? Or five? Or even longer?’

Putting aside the fact that Yang Jing wasn’t even qualified to use a Level B Training Room, the rental price alone was exorbitant. The daily cost was a massive sum—at least a thousand Sect Contribution Points. Even if Yang Jing threw in his entire net worth, he couldn’t afford it for long.

Now, hearing he could use one for ten days free of charge, Yang Jing felt a fire ignite in his heart. ’This is a heaven-sent opportunity!’

’What got my heart racing even more was that the Cyan Qilin Battle was held monthly. If I’m strong enough, couldn’t I fight for those ten days of free access every single month?’

’My cultivation would progress by leaps and bounds, and the time it takes to break through to the Qi Eating Realm would be drastically reduced!’

Si Jiawen took in his reaction, the corners of her lips curling in an almost imperceptible smile. She continued, ”Free access to a Level B Training Room is only one of the rewards for first place in the Cyan Qilin Battle. There are also Sect Contribution Points, Elixirs, and many other prizes.”

Her voice suddenly grew deeper, carrying immense weight. ”More importantly, taking first place in the Cyan Qilin Battle will put you squarely on the radar of the sect’s upper echelons. From then on, you’ll receive the sect’s full support—resources, Cultivation Techniques, guidance... you’ll want for nothing.”

Those words were like a boulder dropped in Yang Jing’s heart, creating a thousand ripples.

He took a deep breath, the light in his eyes growing even more fervent.

Having said her piece, Si Jiawen fell silent and quickened her pace, leading Yang Jing on toward the summit of Lingxi Peak.

The mountain mists grew thicker, swirling around them with a damp chill.

Yang Jing followed behind her, his mind a turbulent sea, unable to find calm.

’He couldn’t understand why Si Jiawen had suddenly told him about the Cyan Qilin Battle. Given her status, there was no reason for her to go out of her way to mentor a newly promoted Inner Sect Disciple like him.’

’But he didn’t dare to ask, so he could only suppress the countless questions swirling in his mind.’

But undeniably, Si Jiawen’s words had planted a seed in his heart, sparking an intense desire within him.

He secretly resolved to find out more about the Cyan Qilin Battle as soon as he got back, to prepare for participating in the future.

Walking ahead, Si Jiawen noticed the young man’s footsteps behind her grow steadier, yet tinged with a hint of urgency. The corners of her lips curved upward slightly.

Before long, the two of them reached the summit of Lingxi Peak.

At the summit, a wide, flat plaza came into view—Lingxi Plaza. Its grounds were paved with clean, tidy bluestone slabs.

Yang Jing’s gaze swept to one side of the plaza, where he saw the Internal Affairs Hall.

Si Jiawen didn’t linger on the plaza, but walked straight ahead.
