Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

”Boss, that’s not what you promised!”

Yuan Li said, a little aggrieved, ”Do you think I don’t know what Lin Qiu and the others are capable of?”

”They’re more than qualified to be assistant managers, but for a key position like store manager, they still have a long way to go.”

”The performance of our stores in the Southwest Region is crucial for the next round of financing.”

”If you’re really that tight on funds, why not just do an A+ round?”

Qi Sheng rejected the idea without a second thought.

”It won’t get that chaotic. I promise you, give it a month at most.”

”If they really can’t handle it, I’ll immediately find suitable candidates to replace them.”

”Fine. You’re the boss.”

What else could Yuan Li say? She had no choice but to comply.

Although she managed the company for Qi Sheng, his determination to use Lin Qiu and the others left her no choice but to acquiesce, even if she disagreed.

Watching Yuan Li walk away unhappily, Qi Sheng could only shake his head with a helpless sigh.

’It’s not that I’m being stingy, it’s just that talent is so damn expensive.’

Twenty Elite Level store managers would cost a hundred million.

Every store also needed an Ordinary Level talent as an assistant manager.

Even after excluding Lin Qiu and his group, he would still need to recruit another 30 Ordinary Level talents.

This was the only way to meet the staffing requirement of one store manager and one assistant manager per store.

Even if an Ordinary Level talent only cost 1 million, 30 of them would still be 30 million!

If he really went that route, the 100 million that had just arrived at the beginning of the month would be gone in a flash.

Besides, Spicy King was no longer a company he fully owned.

There was no reason for him to spend his money while Sequoia and other venture capitalists reaped the benefits.

Once these Spicy King branches were open, they could gradually upgrade the talent level at each location using the company’s own profits.

...

Qi Sheng directly transferred 20 million to the Shanghai Banyan Tree Hotel.

Combined with the previous 10 million, it was just enough to take delivery of three Rolls-Royces.

With two Rolls-Royce Gusts, the concierge department suddenly stood up straighter.

As for the Phantom, it wouldn’t be used lightly unless it was for a distinguished guest staying in the presidential suite.

Qi Sheng spent 10 million to recruit 10 Ordinary Level talents.

However, he had the system record this money as a personal loan from himself to Spicy King.

This loan would have to be prioritized for repayment once Spicy King became profitable.

He had them report to Yuan Li and head to the various branches to begin preparations for their grand openings.

After interviewing this new group, Yuan Li completely lost hope.

They were at about the same level as Lin Qiu’s group—all qualified to be assistant managers.

But when it came to managing a large store, they would inevitably be overwhelmed.

Yuan Li could only hope they would grow quickly and soon be able to stand on their own two feet.

During a break in the afternoon, Qi Sheng and Yuan Li made a rare appearance at the Taikoo Li Main Store.

”Hello, Boss! Hello, President Yuan!”

The exhausted staff members immediately perked up, pleasantly surprised to see Qi Sheng and Yuan Li, and rushed to greet them.

”Everyone, please have a seat. No need to stand.”

Qi Sheng smiled and waved his hand. ”Drinking bubble tea every day, aren’t you guys sick of it yet?”

”Never!”

Mei Lin, one of Qi Sheng’s biggest fans, replied with a loud, cheerful laugh, her eyes sparkling.

”President Yuan and I came here this time because we want to select a group of people from this store to work at branches in other cities.”

”This will be done on a voluntary basis. So, who wants to transfer to a branch in another city?”

Qi Sheng smiled as he looked at the group of employees.

’They might not have the perfect loyalty scores of the talent recruited by the system, but their loyalty is generally around seventy.’

”I volunteer!”

Mei Lin was the first to raise her hand, making many of her colleagues turn to look at her in surprise.

Although working at the Chengdu store was comfortable, she wanted to push herself while she was still young.

”Mei Lin?”

Qi Sheng smiled and nodded. ”Alright, you’re one. Anyone else?”

Seeing Mei Lin take the lead, some employees who weren’t from the area raised their hands and asked.

”Boss, if we go to the new branches, will we still have our current positions?”

Qi Sheng smiled and shook his head. ”Not at all. If you go, you’ll be front-of-house or back-of-house managers at a minimum, which are management positions. The best performers will be promoted to assistant store manager.”

”Wow, then I want to sign up too!”

”Count me in! A chance to move into a management role is rare.”

”Sigh, if I weren’t married, I’d definitely go out and take a chance too. Forget it, I’d better stay in Chengdu.”

After excluding the older employees, those with local families, and the ones who were already married, most of the younger staff wanted a chance to go out and prove themselves.

”President Yuan, select 42 people from this group.”

Qi Sheng said nothing more.

’He believed that in the future, this group of people would be incredibly grateful for the choice they made today. If he had chosen to recruit talent directly from the system, they wouldn’t even have had a chance at promotion.’

”Understood.”

Yuan Li sighed and pressed her temples.

From the comprehensive evaluations, she selected 42 employees who were deemed acceptable.

This group of employees would be transferred to other cities.

Among them was Mei Lin.

The girl’s enthusiastic smile often earned her rave reviews from customers.

She had somehow managed to turn the ordinary job of a greeter into something special.

For example, the colorful panda and hot air balloon at the entrance of the Spicy King Taikoo Li store were both popular photo spots for social media.

Mei Lin’s photography skills were widely acclaimed by the many girls waiting in line.

Over time, Mei Lin had practically become the store’s designated photographer.

In addition to her photography skills, Mei Lin was a master of compliments.

She could coax a group of young women into beaming with joy; it would have been strange if they didn’t give her a good review.

Qi Sheng smiled and nodded at Mei Lin.

”Keep up the good work. I’ll be waiting for the day you become a store manager!”

”I will!”

Mei Lin nodded firmly and then ran off to sign her new contract.

The leap in rank from an ordinary staff member to a front-of-house manager was significant.

A relatively large number of people signed up for the Chongqing stores.

In contrast, very few people signed up for Kunming and Guiyang.

Mei Lin’s hometown happened to be in Guizhou, so she chose Guiyang without hesitation.

When the personnel decisions were finalized, the employees who weren’t selected were all a bit dejected.

The employees Yuan Li had chosen were all staff who usually excelled in every aspect of their evaluations.

No one could complain; they simply weren’t as skilled.

Mei Lin, on the other hand, was bubbling over with joy.

In the new contracts they had signed, the base monthly salary alone was 15,000.

With performance bonuses and a year-end bonus, their annual pre-tax income would be 300,000.

As a girl from a poor village in the mountains, she had never even gone to college, yet she had landed a contract with an annual salary of 300,000.

Mei Lin’s heart overflowed with a gratitude for Qi Sheng that knew no bounds.

[Detected that employee Mei Lin’s loyalty has reached 100. Reward: Two level breakthroughs!]

’Level breakthroughs?’

Qi Sheng froze, his gaze falling on Mei Lin not far away.

As it happened, Mei Lin was also looking at him, and she immediately turned her head away shyly.

But the fiery glow in her eyes could not be hidden.

At this moment, according to the system, Mei Lin had already become an Elite Level talent.

She, who hadn’t even been an Ordinary Level talent before, had just jumped two levels in a row.

Qi Sheng’s gaze toward Mei Lin grew increasingly gentle.

’What boss wouldn’t love a good employee who is so completely loyal?’

’She’s only an Elite Level talent for now.’

’Once I have the money, I’ll definitely make Mei Lin into a Master Level talent like Yuan Li.’

’Not for any other reason, but simply for this girl’s pure and sincere heart.’
