Reincarnated as the Final Villain's Vessel

Chapter 85: Bad Intuition

”It’s more like a phenomenon that occurs automatically.”

Kyle’s words hung in the air.

I nodded at that and continued, ”If we go with this possibility, these cases might appear to be the result of a powerful Relic or Artifact, which teleports all living creatures within a radius of at least four meters to somewhere. ”

Leona intervened ” This reminds me, there was a file of two neighbors who disappeared at the same time but never met that day, perhaps they were in adjacent rooms while only a wall separated them. ”

The Princess put her hand on her chin in deep thought while speaking, ” Suppose the disappearance happened as a result of a Relic or an Artifact, I don’t think anyone—whether in the present or in the past—would make something that teleports any form of life within a four-meter radius... I mean what is the point of this, suppose you want to teleport one person but you end up teleporting two... you understand my point, right? ”

She had a point, but there is an explanation for everything...

” There are several possibilities for this, perhaps the user is not good at controlling it, maybe it wasn’t made to teleport between places but for something else, or there is something similar to those automatic settings like the armors we wore in the test; they are designed to teleport us outside the dome after receiving a certain damage, but also the extent of damage they receive can be set to activate the teleportation mechanism. ”

As soon as I stopped, Kyle completed in my place, ” You are saying it’s like factory settings, you can set it to teleport the person who touches it or teleport everyone around him in a specific space, and this thing is fixed in the settings to teleport every living thing in a four-meter diameter. ”

I nodded my head in agreement with what Kyle said, while Elliot took over the conversation.

” But in the end all these possibilities are based on this being done through a Relic or an Artifact... and if it were a Relic, it would be at Rank 4 or 5 at least, while if it were an Artifact, it would be above Rank 5, and these things are very expensive and I don’t think anyone in this city can own anything like this... of course there is another possibility that the person is from outside Helen. ”

In fact, the more we thought, the more things became illogical, and the more questions and possibilities appeared.

In the end, everyone fell silent and sank into their thoughts until Talia’s voice brought us out.

” Umm... isn’t there a possibility that it’s a monster, guys? ”

Ellen replied to her directly, ” No... we are far from the northern borders, it’s difficult or impossible for a monster to reach here, and according to this phenomenon it must be at least Rank 5 to possess an ability... and if it were a Rank 5 monster here, Helen would have been wiped out overnight. ”

I agreed with the Princess’s words; I think the possibility of it being a monster is completely ruled out.

Talia returned to a state of deathly silence as if she had been rebuked.

Ellen looked at us, ” Well, these possibilities are better than nothing, let each of us continue the investigation behind the victim they chose while the police investigate behind the other files... and I have spoken with Officer Rock, and we have set a date to meet with the security elements responsible for this case after three days. ”

” There we will share what we have obtained and see what we can conclude from combining our thoughts with the investigators. ”

...

The next day, each of us went to complete our investigations.

Talia and Leona went to trace the girl’s footsteps, while Kyle and Elliot met with the old man’s family to ask some questions.

Ellen and Izel went to the husband’s workplace, while I returned to the garden.

I stood now in front of that bench staring at it, the bird still hasn’t returned to its nest, which indicates that my conclusion was correct.

The young man who disappeared here was a person living alone, so perhaps I’ll take a look at his apartment now.

The problem now is that all the people disappeared in their homes or in a place that does not contain cameras, so no footage of them existed at the moment of their disappearance.

I sighed, ” Let’s go to his house. ”

... After some time, I stood in front of a door and turned the key to open it while I entered.

Inside it was just a normal studio.

A small kitchen, a bathroom, and a simple bedroom.

I activated my ability and felt every corner of the place... but nothing special.

In the end, I sighed and left the apartment, heading to the hotel.

...

I entered the suite and went to the group of sofas and threw myself there, the place was empty because everyone hadn’t returned yet.

Well, it’s only ten in the morning.

I took out a stack of files and placed them on the table; it was a copy of all the disappearance cases.

I carried the first file and opened it.

Name: ....

Age: 32

Workplace: .....

.

.

It contained everything from simple information such as name, age, and work, even the place of last appearance and the places the person visited.

For several hours I sat there and read all the files repeatedly looking for any thread that could lead me to the answer.

I immersed myself in that until night fell and the others returned... but even they didn’t accomplish anything.

And so another day passed and all we got was more confusion.

This confusion made me uncomfortable, everything regarding these disappearance cases felt wrong... very wrong.

As more time passed, an intuition grew within me telling me that something bad would happen to us... I wasn’t stupid.

After all, these are the main characters and Elliot himself is present here.

And even me.
