Sandfall City

Hank met with the two old City Guards. He understood their questions.

“I will tell you the answer later. But first, tell me what’s going on with the city guards. Why are they everywhere?” Hank asked them.

The two old guards looked at each other’s faces. According to the rules, they couldn’t say anything, but Hank was an old acquaintance.

And they wanted to know about his recovery. Then they made the decision.

One of the old men said, “I will tell you. But you have to keep the secret with you.”

“Yes, if the news is leaked, then both of our heads will be gone,” the other old man added.

Hearing that, Hank was surprised. He didn’t expect the old men to agree.

“Okay, tell me,” Hank said.

The old man said, “An old ruin was revealed near the city. It was surrounded by sand dunes. It was found by local wizards during their journey.”

Hank’s heart was shaken to the core. He didn’t expect the ruin to be hidden in the sand region. He realized that there is some truth hidden in the old lore.

The other old man said, “The entrance was not fully revealed. So, the City Lord was cautious. He doesn’t want the news to be leaked.”

“Now tell us about your secret,” he added.

The eyes of the second old man fell on Hank.

Seeing that both old men were looking at him, he decided to reveal some news.

“The reason I was able to recover was because of my Master. I can’t reveal further news without his order,” Hank said to them.

“Master…” the old man uttered.

The two old men exchanged looks. They understood that Hank had joined some force. They wanted to know more about Hank’s master.

Buzz!

The next second, one of their digital devices rang. The old man attended the call. One of the city guards was calling them.

Seeing that, the faces of the two old men changed drastically. They had to go.

“Hank, it’s nice to see you. We will meet again next time. It would be best if we can meet your master,” the old man said.

“Yes, see you next time.” After saying that, both old men left the place.

Hank watched them leave. But his heart was still turbulent. They had just escaped from the forbidden forest.

Now they have gotten into another crisis. He knew about the City Lord here. He was a very selfish person. He didn’t know what he would do to hide the news.

The matter of the ruin was important. So, he decided to tell Master Vincent right away. He left the spot.

…

From MC’s Perspective

After getting ready, I decided to explore the city. So, I left the room and arrived in front of the next room.

I knocked on the door.

Creak!

The next second, the door opened. Patrick and Otto greeted me. I walked inside. Then I walked up to the sofa and sat on it.

I asked Patrick and Otto to sit down. When both of them sat opposite me, I turned towards Otto and started asking him some questions.

It was about the situation here.

“Master, I don’t know whether it’s good news or bad news. The locals have found an entrance to an old ruin here. The entrance was not fully dug out.”

“The City Lord has dispatched guards to inspect the people here. He also stopped the entry and exit of the people. No one can go outside or come inside,” Otto said in a solemn tone.

Creak!

At this time, someone knocked on the door. Patrick went to open it.

Then the door opened. Someone was standing outside. The person was none other than Hank. Hank’s face was serious.

Hank saw that Master Vincent was there as well. He quickly walked in and started talking about the things he heard from the two old guards.

At first, my expression was calm. As I continued to listen, I was surprised by Hank’s wide network. He had friends in the City Guards as well.

It wasn’t just one or two people. Then I heard about the old ruin again. My curiosity deepened. To be honest, the Magic Lord was not that big of a threat.

I have the Gregor Mansion with me. I can use it to sneak inside the old ruin.

Hank finished saying everything. Then he thought about the Magic Lord here. His eyes flashed with fear.

“Master, don’t underestimate the City Lord here. I have seen him during my prime 200 years ago. He is still the same.”

“He had quelled the protests here numerous times. Which involved the death of many wizards. This time he will do everything to protect the secret of the ruin,” Hank said in a solemn tone.

“Why are the ruins appearing everywhere? First, it was the Nocturnal Forest. Now it’s Sandfall City,” Patrick said with surprise.

“I’m afraid the commotion here could attract people from outside,” Otto said.

On the other hand, I fell into deep contemplation. I had found the ancient vine monster in the previous ruins.

I guess it won’t be bad to explore another ruin here. Maybe I could come across something useful again.

Then I turned towards the others.

“Okay, we can enter the ruin. I will hide you guys in my spatial treasure. After reaching the place, I will let you out,” I said to them.

Gasp!

Otto exclaimed in surprise.

“Master, are you serious?”

“A Magic Lord is a powerful being. If he wants, he could destroy the city,” Otto said in a solemn tone.

“I know he is powerful. But I have this feeling that the ruin could be important. We should not miss this opportunity,” I replied.

“Master, you are right. I know how hard it is to collect resources. If we want to become Magic Lords in the future, it’s best to find suitable resources as soon as possible,” Patrick said.

Otto sighed in his heart. He wanted to become a Magic Lord as well.

But he knew how hard it was. You need a massive amount of resources. To break through to the Supreme level, he used 100 years of accumulation.

He didn’t know how many years were needed for accumulation to become Magic Lord.
