From MC’s Perspective:

I appeared outside from time to time to check the situation outside. After finding nothing wrong with the old man Patrick.

I deactivated the Zero puppet. I’m convinced that I didn’t need to monitor the old man before.

The Old man Patrick behaved himself. When he heard about the Mage Union behind the master. He completely submitted himself.

He didn’t dare to have any rebellious thoughts. He knew the Master had ways to kill him. He was already under some kind of control. His mana core was bound with the magic characters.

So he was resigned to his fate. At the same time, the journey is going smoothly. The Black raven aircraft faced no obstacles. They will reach the border soon with this speed.

A couple of days later,

I’m sitting in the cockpit. The border is just a few miles away. After confirming it, I looked at the old man Patrick and told my plan.

It’s time to cross the border. So I stopped the plan and turned off the stealth mode. Both of us appeared outside. Then I took the Black Raven Aircraft back into the system space.

“Do you have any ways to cross the border?” I asked the old man Patrick.

I could use Gregor Mansion. But I don’t want to reveal anything about it to the second person. Even that person was under my control.

As far as I know the old man is thinking that I’m carrying some type of space Artifact. Let him think like that.

Patrick is seriously pondering. It’s not like he doesn’t have a way. He had disbanded the bandit group. The news must have reached his old friends.

He doesn’t know whether they can help him or not.

“What are you thinking?” I asked.

Patrick collected his thoughts.

He said,”Master, I know a few friends. With their help, I crossed the border many times to sell the looted items. I’m afraid the news must have reached them already. So I’m unsure about their attitude.”

A look of understanding dawned on my face. No wonder he is thinking too much.

“Take me to your friend. I’ll convince him,” I said with a smile.

Patrick suddenly recalled something. His old friends are not ordinary wizards. Like him they are suffering from year long hidden injuries and life span problems.

Otherwise, they would be similar to other dazzling Supremes.

“Master, I have one request. Could you subdue my friends as well?” He asked.

“What?” I blurted out in surprise.

Then I began to think. The reason I subdued him was to create my own force to collect intel and special relics.

He is a bandit. He had years of experience. If special relics appear he can look out for him. But what’s with his friend? He doesn’t want to take any burden.

Besides, he still doesn’t know many things about the Red Scroll Artifact. I don’t know its limit. If I hastily subdue another Wizard, it could backfire.

I didn’t voice out my thoughts. I turned towards him and said,”I’ll think about it. Now take me to your friend.”

“Okay, master,” Patrick agreed.

Time goes by,

After crossing several miles, they finally saw the movements of the people. In the vast stretch of barren land ahead.

There are numerous roads leading to the border. People are traveling on that road. Some are riding the monster carriages.

While others are using vehicles. It’s an amazing sight. But it’s filled with dangers. Because anyone could belong to White or Dark faction.

“So where is your friend staying?”

“Is it this side or the border or other side?” I asked him.

“Master, don’t worry. He is staying on this side of the border. He had his stall opened. Because there is a market ahead on this side of the border,” Patrick explained.

My eyes glinted with understanding. Last time, I didn’t see any market during the crossing on this side of the border. Because I was inside the Gregor Mansion during that time.

“Okay. Take me there,” I uttered.

Then we started moving towards the place. I’m not wearing any mask. I’m wearing different clothes. So it will not arouse any suspicions.

Old man Patrick is quite disguised as well. We too joined the path ahead. Like others we started traveling on foot.

From time to time, I met with scrutinizing gazes. I could see robbers hiding among them. If there is any fat sheep found, the fight will break out any time.

Fortunately, none of such things occured. It didn’t take long for us to reach the bustling market.

There are neatly organised stalls everywhere. Old man Patrick is leading me to his friend’s stall. On the way, I spotted the flags of the White Faction and Dark Faction.

The vendors from these factions have opened stalls as well. I’m thinking that Dark Faction should be looking for them everywhere. Including the market.

So I wanted to cross the border as soon as possible. Soon, old man Patrick brought me to the metal staff. Damaged ores are sold here.

A bald headed old man is seated at the reclining chair. He must be Patrick’s old friend. I immediately used the system probe function.

The system results came. My gaze fell on the details.

The next second, my eyes filled with surprise. The old man has a few years to live. But he got interesting magic. His magic is related to sound.

His magic spells are interesting. He could hear the conversation of the people.

“Old friend, how are you doing?” Patrick asked.

Hearing that familiar voice, the bald old man opened his eyes. He sees through the disguise of the bandit group leader.

A wide grin appeared on his face.

“It appears you found some solution. Otherwise, you won’t break up your bandit group,” the bald man said.

“You are right. I have found an olive branch. I can recommend you as well,” Patrick said.

A quick gleam appeared in the eyes of the bald man.

He knows the bandit group leader. They have known each other for decades. Patrick can’t lie to him.

If Patrick has found some reliable solution, the bald man thinks he can solve his lifespan problem as well.
