Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Sub-Taboo Hall

Carolina Slate walks in. The heavy metallic doors of the Sub-Taboo Hall closed behind, her face a mask of stark terror.

Moments prior, she had been immersed in the delicate task of extracting the potent essence from a Corpse Sucking Flower.

The otherworldly bloom, with its sickly green hue and an aura of decay, was a crucial ingredient in the concoction she was preparing. So engrossed was she in her alchemical endeavors that the outside world had faded into a distant hum.

It was only when her friends, their voices laced with urgency, broke through her concentration that the tranquility of the Sub-Taboo Hall shattered.

The normally serene alchemist’s haven was thrown into disarray by her friends’ abrupt entrance. A half-finished potion, bubbling ominously in a glass retort, bore witness to her interrupted work.

News of the horrifying incident in the library had reached her, a shockwave that sent a jolt of fear through her system.

Desperation fueling her actions, Carolina abandoned her experiment and raced to the library, hoping flickering that she might find Vincent Carey there. But the grand, imposing structure was eerily silent.

Instead of her friend, she encountered a group of students, their faces etched with shock and confusion. From their trembling lips came a tale of terror – the librarian, a figure usually shrouded in shadows, had taken both the missing students away for ‘punishment’.

Panic seized Carolina as she fled the library, her mind racing. Her only hope lay with Senior Brother Gilbert, the enigmatic figure who oversaw the Sub-Taboo Hall. But a gnawing doubt crept into her heart. Gilbert often embarked on mysterious journeys, leaving the Hall in Carolina’s capable hands. If he were absent now, she was truly alone.

Taking a deep breath to quell the rising panic, she reached for her communication device, her fingers trembling. Perhaps, just perhaps, she could reach him, wherever he was. The weight of the situation pressed down on her, but Carolina was determined. She would not give up hope.

Carolina’s heart pounded in her chest as she frantically dialed Senior Gilbert’s number for what felt like the hundredth time.

Each unanswered call was a fresh dagger to her hope. His absence, a void in the normally comforting structure of their world, sent a chill down her spine. Worry etched deep lines on her face, her eyes mirroring the desperation in her soul.

Desperate, she reached for her device again, her fingers trembling as she dialed Vincent Carey’s number. She had no idea what to expect, but the need to know his fate outweighed her fear. To her astonishment, the call connected almost instantly.

“Senior Sister, what happened?” Vincent’s voice, calm and collected, washed over her. But there was an undercurrent of something else, a lightness that was completely at odds with the gravity of the situation.

Dumbfounded, Carolina stumbled over her words. “Vincent, where are you?” Her voice, a stark contrast to his nonchalance, trembled slightly.

“I heard about the library incident,” she added, her tone still nervous. “I’m fine. I’m in my room. But I’m not coming back to the Hall tonight. We can discuss it tomorrow morning,” Vincent replied.

A wave of relief washed over Carolina, as sudden and unexpected as a summer storm. The dark clouds of fear that had gathered in her mind began to dissipate. She had imagined the worst, visions of Vincent trapped, injured, or worse, haunting her thoughts. But now, hearing his voice, she realized she had been consumed by paranoia.

With a long, exhausted sigh, Carolina let the tension seep out of her body. She turned to leave the Sub-Taboo Hall, a newfound sense of calm washing over her. The night was still young, and while the mystery of the missing students remained unsolved, at least she knew that Vincent was safe.

The Steel Family

Rodney Steel, the patriarch of the once-proud Steel Family, was a man on the brink. His face, etched with lines of fatigue and despair, mirrored the dire situation his family was in.

They were besieged, their fortress under constant assault by an overwhelming force. Hope, a flickering ember, was rapidly dying in the face of their desperate circumstances.

Rodney had been awaiting reinforcements from their allies, a beacon of hope in the deepening darkness. But as the hours ticked by, that hope began to wane. Communication channels had been severed, and there was no sign of the promised aid.

A towering figure, the leader of the besieging force, a level-8 wizard of formidable power, stepped forward. His voice, like the crack of thunder, echoed through the tense air. “Steel Family Head, your time is up. If you and your family members struggle further, only death awaits you.” His eyes, cold and calculating, held a promise of swift and brutal retribution.

The wizard’s ultimatum landed like a physical blow. Rodney’s knees felt weak as he sank to the ground, the weight of his family’s fate crushing him. He glanced at his kin, their faces a mosaic of fear and defiance. He could not bear to see them slaughtered.

A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he made a decision that would echo through generations. “Fine,” he said, his voice barely a whisper, “we will cooperate with you.” The words were like a dagger to his pride, but survival was paramount.

The tension in the air dissipated as the Steel Family’s elders, their faces a mixture of resignation and anger, lowered their defensive magic. The specially trained squad, their numbers overwhelming, moved in swiftly, their hands reaching for restraints.

Rodney was the last to be subdued. As the cold metal of the handcuffs bit into his wrists, he looked up at the level-8 wizard. A flicker of pity, a fleeting recognition of a shared world turned upside down, danced in the wizard’s eyes before disappearing without a trace.

“You picked the wrong side,” the wizard said softly, his voice a stark contrast to his imposing figure.

Rodney’s gaze met the wizard’s, a silent acknowledgment of their shared fate in a world consumed by conflict. The Steel Family, once a beacon of power and influence, was now at the mercy of forces beyond their control.
