Chapter 64: Chapter 62: What’s It Like to Have Your Face Stepped On by a Witch?

He looked at her.

She looked back at him.

His handsome face was flushed red.

Her light robes were half-undone.

He opened his mouth as if he had a thousand words to say, but when they reached his throat, none would come out.

Gu Xiangzhu asked coldly, ”I’m asking you, did it feel good to touch?”

Zhao Ci: ”...”

’Woman!’

’I’d love to answer!’

’But you’re choking me!’

The feeling of suffocation had already spread. Gu Xiangzhu’s hand was clamped around his neck, causing his face to turn crimson.

’If my head sprang a leak right now, it would definitely shoot up high.’

He was talking about blood, of course.

Zhao Ci had originally come up with a plan, confident that he could use his silver tongue to talk Gu Xiangzhu into submission.

He never expected she wouldn’t even give him a chance to run his mouth.

He tried to break free.

But the First-Grade Flesh and Soul Celestial Demon Body, which had once made him feel immensely powerful, couldn’t budge Gu Xiangzhu in the slightest.

No matter how strong his Flesh Soul was, it was insignificant in the face of such a massive gap in cultivation.

Moreover, Gu Xiangzhu had mastered Celestial Demon Body Refining. Her physical body was naturally strong, and she had already opened her Physical Body Divine Treasure.

The lack of air made his vision pulse with blackness.

The Emperor’s Extreme Body Refining Technique included a True Qi Inner Breath method.

But now, his True Qi was sealed as well.

His body’s instincts sparked a fear of death, a fear that made him unconsciously take out an Illusion Step Talisman.

If he slapped this Talisman Paper on himself, he could teleport to any spot within a third of a mile. As long as he could get to Old Deng, he definitely wouldn’t die.

But he didn’t use it.

Because if he did, everything he had worked so hard to build would turn to ash.

He was confident.

Gu Xiangzhu wouldn’t kill him.

And then.

”BAM!”

A fist slammed into his gut.

He felt as if all his internal organs had been twisted into a knot.

The pain was so excruciating it bordered on ecstasy.

Amplified by the suffocation, the agony skyrocketed by a factor of ten thousand.

A cold sneer played on Gu Xiangzhu’s lips. She asked through gritted teeth, ”Why aren’t you answering? Did it feel good to touch?”

No matter how well a person hid their intentions, they could never completely suppress their instinctive reactions. Even a brief moment was enough for her to make a judgment.

How laughable.

She had always prided herself on her ability to judge character, yet she had been blinded by stereotypes, failing to see through this ”good boy” who had been mediocre and weak for seventeen years before his sudden change in personality.

It was true that Zhao Ci was a good actor; his behavior and attitude were all perfectly orchestrated to be compliant.

But it was also true that she had been too eager for results and had let her guard down, because Zhao Ci’s act was by no means flawless.

And yet, in the end...

...she had to resort to testing him by force!

The thought brought her a sense of shame.

But that wasn’t the most humiliating part.

The most humiliating part was...

Gu Xiangzhu remembered: the day his enfeoffment failed, he had tearfully forced a hug on her; the day after establishing his manor, he had used the excuse of sharing her burdens to knead her shoulders and neck; the day they competed for the Hundred Refinements Furnace, he had laid his head on her lap; and on many days since, he had naturally offered her shoulder rubs.

And especially today, he had actually fondled... fondled her...

Her head felt like it was about to explode!

No wonder it had felt strange every time. His motives had been impure from the very beginning.

She felt as if ants were crawling all over every inch of skin Zhao Ci had touched.

Especially her feet.

At the thought, the True Qi throughout her body surged out of control. The force in her hand increased, and her silk shoes and cotton socks, unable to withstand the dispersing True Qi, exploded into shreds, leaving her standing barefoot on the ground.

Zhao Ci: ”!!!”

’This time he was truly screwed!’

’Did I bet wrong?’

’Is this woman really going to kill me?’

’Why isn’t she letting go? She’s squeezing even harder!’

The feeling of suffocation made him lose control of his body, and his legs began to kick wildly.

The Illusion Step Talisman, visible only to him, was already in his right hand. He couldn’t hold on any longer and was about to use it.

But just then.

”SHHH!”

Gu Xiangzhu released her grip, and Zhao Ci’s body slid limply down the wall.

As fresh air flooded his lungs, he felt as if he had ascended from the Nine Netherworld to paradise in an instant. He knelt on the ground, gasping for breath.

He wished he could suck all the air in the room into his lungs, even if they burst.

’Just as I thought!’

’The little wench doesn’t dare kill me.’

’My gamble paid off!’

But before he could take more than a few breaths, a pale, slender foot kicked him in the chest.

”BANG!”

His back slammed hard against the wall, and his head hit it with a THUD, making him see stars.

Before he could even cry out in pain, that same foot grew larger in his vision until it was pressing down on his face, pinning him firmly against the wall.

Once again, he was suffocating.

Gu Xiangzhu’s voice was ice-cold. ”Don’t you like this? Then I’ll let you have your fill!”

As she spoke, she twisted her foot, distorting his features.

Zhao Ci: ”!!!”

’Holy shit!’

’Good thing I washed them for her. They’re clean and even have a hint of the scent of soap beans.’

’Otherwise, this would be a true, utter humiliation.’

But the feeling of suffocation returned, growing more and more agonizing.

This time, however, he had no thoughts of escaping, no matter how much his body struggled.

He had already figured out the little wench’s bottom line. As long as he knew her limits were, no matter how fiercely she acted, she wouldn’t pose a real threat to his life.

All he had to do was ignore the surface-level display and hold fast to her true nature.

’But this suffocation... it’s so damn painful!’

Sure enough.

Just as Zhao Ci was about to pass out, Gu Xiangzhu once again removed her foot.

Again, Zhao Ci knelt on the ground, gasping for air. He subconsciously glanced at her bare feet on the floor.

They were as white as fine cream, like skin of ice and bones of jade.

They were washed very clean, and her shoes and socks had been freshly changed.

’Good thing I did such a good job washing them.’

’Thank you, Cadillac!’

But yet again.

Before he could even catch his breath.

Gu Xiangzhu hauled him to his feet.

With a wave of her right hand, a length of black silk appeared out of thin air and bound him tightly to a wooden post.

Gu Xiangzhu seized his hand and sneered, ”My ’good boy,’ don’t you like to touch things? Tell me, where else do you want to touch?”

Zhao Ci: ”...”

’No matter how vindictive he was, he couldn’t possibly, right now...’

’Hm?’

He finally had a chance to see Gu Xiangzhu’s full figure again. Her light robes were half-undone, revealing jade-like collarbones as exquisite as a work of art.

Her figure, normally hidden beneath restrictive palace attire, was now revealed in all its elegant shapeliness before him.

’This damn allure of a mature woman.’

He felt his throat go dry.

’It’s not like I wouldn’t...’

”CRACK!”

Gu Xiangzhu gripped his wrist again. ”Weren’t you so bold before? Why are you scared now? If you don’t have the guts, then I’ll help you. Speak! Where do you like?”

Saying this, she gripped his hand and slowly moved it toward her own body.

Zhao Ci: ”...”

’This script is way beyond my comprehension.’

’This is bad!’

’She’s decided to kill me.’

’But she wants to give me a parting gift before she does it.’

’Why would she have such a twisted idea?’

[Gu Xiangzhu’s Current Wish]: To suffer such an extraordinary humiliation, I refuse to be rational! My killing intent isn’t strong enough, so I’ll just have to build up more. I will kill this little lecherous demon today. Wish Fulfillment Reward: +1000 Enlightenment Value, Stealable Constitution: Yin Yang Immortal Body.]

Zhao Ci: ”...”

’What the fuck!’

’Since when does this world have Hong Wen players who need to farm rage to use their ultimate attack?’

’This woman is so fucking ridiculous.’

’Her rational mind tells her she can’t kill me.’

’But this little genius actually knows how to farm her own rage.’

Seeing his hand being guided toward that place he so yearned for, Zhao Ci knew he couldn’t let this continue.

He snorted in disgust. ”Who would want to touch you?”

The muscles in his face ached from being stepped on, making his speech a little slurred.

But the disgust in his voice was practically overflowing.

”Hm?”

Gu Xiangzhu’s eyes turned cold, and she instinctively tightened her grip, nearly crushing the bones in his hand.

”Hiss...”

Zhao Ci sucked in a sharp breath.

Gu Xiangzhu said icily, ”You think saying that will stop me from killing you?”

”Heh...”

Zhao Ci looked at her with eyes full of venomous hatred. ”Go on, kill me then! You killed my mother, the Imperial Consort, and took her place. You must be after something! If you kill me, you’ll get nothing—including the Alcohol Refining Technique that has you so flustered!”

Gu Xiangzhu’s brow furrowed tightly. She retorted sharply, ”Who said I killed your mother?”

”If you didn’t kill her, then who did?”

Zhao Ci gave a savage grin. ”Besides you, who else stood to gain from my mother’s disappearance?”

Gu Xiangzhu didn’t answer that question. Instead, she asked a new one. ”Who told you this?”

This was very important to her.

Not many people in the Imperial Palace knew her true identity.

And they were all connected to Zhao Huan.

But Zhao Huan would never do something so foolish.

Instigating Zhao Ci offered few benefits and a great deal of backlash.

So... who could it be?

”Do I need someone to tell me?”

Zhao Ci laughed hatefully. ”I knew something was wrong ever since you tried to persuade me to accept the enfeoffment. I may be a disappointment, but surely not to the point where my own mother would loathe me. What kind of mother wouldn’t even hug her own son? Later, I tested you in various ways, and I finally confirmed my suspicions!”

Gu Xiangzhu’s pupils constricted. ”So, you were just testing me?”

”What else? If it wasn’t to find out the truth, you think I’d want to touch you?”

Zhao Ci’s gaze was filled with ultimate hatred and disgust. ”I wasn’t sure before, but just now, after touching your filthy feet and remembering how you’re constantly trying to take my Alcohol Refining Technique, I finally came to a conclusion.

I hate it!

I hate that I never had the chance to show my mother filial piety, and instead had to endure the great humiliation of washing my mother’s murderer’s feet!

I hate that even though I knew the truth, I couldn’t overcome the cowardice in my heart and missed the chance to expose you to my Father Emperor!

My life is in your hands now. Kill me. It would be perfect. I can go down and accompany my mother!”

Gu Xiangzhu: ”!!!”

Hearing that he had done all those things just to test her.

And not to satisfy his own lewd desires.

The humiliation and anger in her heart instantly dissipated by more than half.

After a moment of silence, she released Zhao Ci’s wrist and snorted coldly. ”I did not kill your mother!”

After she said this, the line of text above her head, the one accumulating killing intent, vanished completely.

Zhao Ci: ”...”

He let out a long sigh of relief.

’A close call, but I’m safe.’

A look of astonishment flickered across his face, then he roared angrily, ”Bullshit! If you didn’t kill my mother, then who did?”

’The unexpected situation has been defused with quick thinking.’

’Now I finally have a chance to unleash the combo I’ve been preparing for so long!’

’But as for how effective it will be...’

’...even he couldn’t be sure.’
