---Previously---

”Welcome to London, friends!” John smiled heartily as he made an elegant bow towards both Alaric and Reuben. ”I am John Churchill, duke of Marlborough!”

---

”Wha-” Reuben widened his eyes as he stared at John while Alaric simply smiled and nodded in return.

”I am Alaric Jonathan Kenway,” Alaric introduced himself. ”Business partner and apprentice of Master William Penn Sr.”

”...”

”...”

”Umm... I mean... I’m Reuben,” Reuben started and finally mustered himself to speak with confidence. ”Sworn brother of Alaric Jonathan Kenway!”

”Huh?” Alaric’s eyes widened as he stared at Reuben. ’Sworn brother... that oddly feels nice to hear... when did he swear though?’

”It’s my pleasuire to meet you both,” The duke of Marlborough nodded his head, then turned his head towards Penn.

”William... are you ready for this week’s grand meeting?”

”Aye,” Penn nodded his head and smiled. ”I wouldn’t be here if I weren’t.”

”Anyway, are you available tomorrow?” Penn asked John as he motioned towards Alaric and Reuben. ”Let’s invite the Queen to a meal!”

Alaric stayed silent, listening to the two figures that were on his history class, while Reuben was staring at the duke.

”Meal?” John Churchill’s brows raised as he stared at William Penn. ”What for? And we need to submit a request for that.”

Penn laughed heartily as he placed a hand on Churchill’s shoulder. ”Whatever do you mean ”submit a request”? We have close ties to Queen Stuart...”

”Anyways... I’m going to St. James’s Palace today and invite her me’self” Penn continued. ”You can come next time if you’re busy tomorrow.”

”What nonsense are you spouting? Of course I’m coming,” John Churchill chuckled then he looked around.

”If that’s all, I’m going to take my leave,” Churchill smiled at Penn.

”Sure, take care,” Penn bid his farewell to the Duke as the latter nodded towards Penn, then to Alaric and Reuben.

”It was nice knowing you both,” John Churchill said as he started walking away. ”It’s good to know that William has taken in someone under his tutelage.”

”Goodbye, Duke John Churchill,” Alaric smiled.

Reuben was still fazed at the presence of the Duke, as Penn neared him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

”It’s rather interesting, isn’t it?” Penn started while looking at the fleeting form of John Churchill as Reuben looked at him. ”At first glance, you wouldn’t think of him as someone with a title.”

”...” Was Reuben’s response.

”That’s why I believe that everyone should be treated the same,” Penn stated as he walked towards God knows where. ”I’m off! I’ll come by here tomorrow, see you then!”

”...”

’I don’t know what you’re on about, Penn,’ Alaric thought as he folded his arms. ’I think you’re all blind. Churchill’s clothes spoke EXPENSIVE, and you say that you wouldn’t think of him as someone with a title? That’s bullshit.’

”...”

’I wonder how much I would get if I sell them to the system?’

---Somewhere---

*Clang. Clang. Clang.*

Sounds of hammers hitting steel could be heard within a dark area. The surroundings consisted of big bluish stone-like structures that had semi sci-fi touch to them.

*Clang. Clang. Clang.*

”Argh! Malakas!”

A woman grit her teeth in pain and sweared as the hammer she was holding struck the steel, making some of the glowing hot scales fly towards her cheeks.

”Why did I commit such a beginner’s mistake?” She hissed as she caressed her cheek.

The burn in her cheek was noticeable, making her sigh. However, seconds later, it healed immediately.

”That’s odd... I never make mistakes like these...”

---

It was night time as Alaric and Reuben were walking along the streets of London.

”I really can’t believe how lively the city is... even at night,” Reuben muttered, but Alaric heard him.

”Yeah, but I guess it’s a given as there should be more than five hundred thousand people living in this city,” Alaric replied as they moved along the night market.

They were browsing the goods being sold within the night market left and right. There were man, but Alaric didn’t find anything that he wanted to buy. Reuben, on the other hand, bought a set of clothes and armor that actually suited him.

Minutes later, Alaric stopped his tracks as his brows raised at what he saw.

It was a garb that didn’t really match the current setting. The color was black with red trim, and the quality was top-notched.

Alaric then walked towards the garb and immediately touched it.

”Ah... hello there, young man,” An old woman who was tending the wares greeted the blonde and smiled. ”I see you’ve taken a liking to this wonderful attire.

”Good evening, may I ask where you got this masterpiece right here?” Alaric asked then turned his head towards the old woman.

’She’s not from around here,’ Alaric thought as he observered her face. ’She looks asian... or maybe she was born here and I’m just assuming... Nah... I think she’s from asia somewhere... it could be China, Japan, Korea, Singap-’

”My sister made that garment,” The old woman smiled sadly, then walked towards Alaric, and stopped just nearby, looking at the clothing that Alaric was feeling. ”This was one of the last clothes that she made before she died, ravaged by a lion... in the Himalayas...”

”She was such a pure girl,” The old woman continued as she touched the fabric of the garment. ”I miss her so much...”

”You must think that would work on me,” Alaric sighed and stared at the old woman’s eyes. ”I’ll buy it for a pound...”

”W-What!?” The old woman’s eyes widened, then glared at Alaric. ”That’s too much! Twenty pounds!”

”Damn... I thought that would work on him,” She muttered as Alaric continued to stare at her.

”...”

”A-Alright fifteen pounds!”

”...”

”Why are you doing this to me!? This is good fabric! Even the royals would want this the moment they see this!” The old woman glared at Alaric as she motioned the said ’fabric’. ”Thirteen pounds! I won’t take less!”

”...”

”Kid... are you trying to ro-”

”Okay, I’ll take it,” Alaric smiled as the old woman paused, staring at him. ”You have a couple more of these right? You said your sister made lots of clothes.”

”...Yes,” The old woman observed Alaric for a moment, then nodded her head and went towards the crates behind her counter.

”I have three available, including that one,” She informed, while pointing at the garment near Alaric. ”If you want more, I can provide the rest tomorrow as they’re all in the storage of my rented house. I think there are about ten of them there.”

”Sure,” Alaric smiled as he waited for the old woman to pack all the clothes up. ”I’ll buy these ones, and the other ten in your storage...”

---

”Here, I’ve packed everything,” The old woman placed the bag filled with the folded clothes that Alaric bought on the counter. ”One hundred and sixty nine pounds, including the ones in the storage.”

”Okay, grandma,” Alaric smiled as he pretended to grab some money from his pocket.

”Here you go,” Alaric placed the money on the counter as the old woman counted carefully. ”Please send the other ten clothes tomorrow morning in the ”Howard’s Tavern”.”

”I will make sure, young man,” The old woman smiled. ”I’ll deliver it myself.”

”Thanks!” Alaric smiled and took the bag filled with his newly purchased clothes, walking off the store while Reuben was somewhere else.

---Little bit of extra---

”Good evening, we’re here to rest for the night...”

”Ah, yes sire... for two people?”

”Yes, separate rooms.”

”I see... how many nights?”

”I don’t know for sure, we’ll just stay for one night for now.”

”Hmm... that’ll be four pounds.”

’HUH?’ ”Ah... y-yes... I mean, of course...”

’I mean, I guess the place is luxurious... but four pounds for two rooms!? Damn...’
