S-Rank Harem: I Became My Character with Extra Control Skill

Ryan stood there, staring at the system window.

He still couldn’t process the fact that he had finally reached S-rank.

Beatrice stepped up beside him.

”That boss was a bit annoying. Did you manage to level up?” She spoke while leaning forward, turning her head to look at him with a calm smile.

Ryan nodded, and before he could utter a single word.

The system window changed in front of him.

[New reward received]

[Box — Epic]

Ryan turned back toward the Hydra, which was now fading away.

Once it vanished completely.

A box remained in the exact same spot where the Hydra’s body had been.

”What’s that?” Beatrice asked, still standing by Ryan’s side.

”Well, an epic item. Let’s see what’s inside.”

’Despite my luck, we haven’t gotten anything I actually want to use. We’re just getting flooded with scrolls.’

Ryan walked over to the box and picked it up with both hands.

Beatrice leaned in close, her face full of curiosity.

”I love the feeling of not knowing what’s going to come out of the box, hee hee.”

”You’re acting like a little girl,” Ryan said with a teasing tone as he activated the box.

When it activated, it floated a few inches above Ryan’s hands. Then it disappeared.

It dropped into his hands what looked like a pair of bracers, each connected by chains to a ring with a small, glowing violet gem in the center.

Ryan looked at the gem and then found himself staring at Beatrice’s face.

’It’s the same color as her eyes.’

”But what use is that? Is it really epic?”

”Let me check.”

Ryan held the bracer up in front of his face.

”Analyze.”

Ryan began to recite all the object’s characteristics out loud.

After finishing the list of attributes and skills, he stood there thinking for a moment.

’Epic weapons truly are special, but I don’t see myself fighting with weapons like these...’

He turned to look at Beatrice; her eyes were lit up, fixed on the bracers.

’Right, I think this could work.’

He took Beatrice’s hand and gave her the bracers.

”I think these will be of more use to you. You fit the assassin role perfectly.” He smiled as he gave them to her.

”What? Can I really keep them? They’re epic, and you don’t even have a weapon like that yet... I don’t think I should accept them.”

’She says that, but she looks like an excited child looking at them. Of course she wants them.’

Ryan sighed.

”Go on, take them. If at least you can have an epic item, I’ll be satisfied. I’m already S-rank; that was my initial goal.”

Beatrice took the bracers with excitement and put them on, placing the rings connected to the bracers on her middle fingers on both hands.

She began to jump and move from one side to the other.

”Incredible. Now I feel... very fast.”

Ryan began to laugh, seeing her so happy with that new weapon.

’Now she really will look like a ninja.’

And just as Ryan had resigned himself to not getting an epic item for himself.

A system window updated in front of him.

[Luck bonus applied: new reward received]

[Box — Special Item]

”Special?”

Another box appeared in front of him.

He took it.

Beatrice, who was busy testing her bracers, returned to Ryan’s side.

”Is it another epic reward?” she asked.

”Hmm... I don’t think so. It was different this time.”

Ryan opened the item and read the name of each special item aloud.

› Mighty Combine Set

› Chimera pieces x5

› Chimera Twins Stone

’But... what the hell is this?’

”Did you say chimera?” Beatrice asked.

”...Yes. Do you know what it is?”

”Not entirely, but I’ve heard something about it... there was a time it was talked about a lot on the demon continent, where Irina had fought a hero. I think... his name was Rafael. Yes, that was it, I think.”

She placed a hand on her chin as if trying to remember more.

”I remember they said that hero used weapons that weren’t epic, but they were very strong and had that name, Chimera...”

Ryan looked at the items.

”I get it, but these aren’t weapons, and I don’t know what to do with them either. It’s a shame...”

”Wait, wait... Mika is in the village. Let’s ask her.”

”Ah, you mean the alchemist?”

”Yes, her. She forged this weapon for me, remember? I think those are... I mean, materials to forge those strange weapons.”

”I see. Then we’ll ask her later.”

’It wasn’t something I expected, so I won’t complain. At least if I can’t create weapons with them... I hope they have some value.’

But there were now less than eight hours left until dawn.

And that was the agreed-upon time when Ryan expected his companions to come to the dungeon.

Ryan took advantage of that time to accumulate skill points.

Neither of them slept during that time in the dungeon.

...

And when the moment finally arrived, Ryan had already distributed all his skill points.

He now held the S-rank.

But also stats that, despite having so many enemies, made him feel calm.

So, when the time came, they descended from the hundredth floor of the dungeon.

Of course, this time it wasn’t necessary to fight.

They simply made their way through without a struggle.

When they reached the first floor and stood before the dungeon entrance, the wyvern was still there.

Ryan was sitting next to the wyvern.

They waited for about an hour more.

And finally, several silhouettes stepped through into the dungeon.

For a moment, the wyvern grew restless.

But it was calmed by Ryan’s touch.

Beatrice stood frozen. She probably didn’t know how to react, or what might happen next.

”Ryan!” Karol was the first to speak.

Ryan stared at her; Mirian was at her side, and Helen was behind the two of them.

Ryan walked toward them and stopped about five meters away.

”I thought you wouldn’t come.”

Karol was about to speak.

But she was interrupted by Mirian.

”I notice something different in your eyes... you’re S-rank now, aren’t you? But it’s not just that... there’s something more.”
