Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

The black tentacles spread further from Ren’s position. Purplish darkness expanding its territory and those weird growths appearing on more corpses. Energy flowing back toward him in a faster continuous stream.

He was becoming a node. A focal point… A thing that drained everything around it and grew stronger through consumption. Converting death into power in a cycle that would continue until nothing remained except Ren and the corruption wrapping him.

His mana signature was enormous now… Overwhelming. Approaching levels that shouldn’t be possible for Gold rank. But it wasn’t pure power. It wasn’t clean, just corruption masquerading as strength. And it was consuming him. Less human with each passing moment…

Less Ren. Less anything except violence, hunger and darkness.

The tamers nearby were starting to notice too. Starting to back away. Starting to look at Ren with fear rather than hope and recognizing that something was wrong even if they didn’t understand what.

That fear would spread… Would undermine morale that was already fragile and would create a third crisis on top of the invasion.

So they had to act now. The girls and Lin moved with a synchronization born from years of shared training.

They had to stop Ren long enough for Liora to prepare a big attack that required concentration without interruption. The perfect containment to provide the necessary window for a technique normally not executed during chaotic combat.

It was simple in concept… But difficult in execution. Holding a corrupted Gold-rank tamer who’d been getting stronger through absorption. Who was controlled by a thing that wanted survival and would fight with everything it had for it.

But they’d try anyway… Because Ren was worth the risk.

And thankfully they had the upper hand. Larissa had the most advantage in this specific confrontation. The light she emitted worked exceptionally well against the corruption infecting Ren. Elemental purity being almost an antithesis of the corruption that had been propagating without control.

That corruption visibly writhed before the powerful radiance Larissa generated. Dark energy being forced to retreat when brilliance reached it directly. Not yet destroyed but pushed back… Denied the space to spread.

Darkness fleeing light. Wrong yielding to right. Not because of some subjective “moral superiority” but because of fundamental incompatibility. Because one had to give and this ‘incomplete’ corruption was weaker.

The advantage was important, converting Larissa from defensive support to a critical piece of the offensive strategy.

Her fairy blazed… Not with heat but with pure luminance, a light so bright it hurt to look at directly. Light that left nowhere for darkness to hide.

And the corruption hated it. So the thing controlling Ren realized the threat and responded with everything it had.

The tentacles that had formed at Ren’s feet increased aggression even further and became considerably more chaotic in movement. The already long dark extensions launching toward multiple directions simultaneously without a predictable pattern permitting appropriate anticipation.

And they extended even beyond what they’d previously reached. Length increasing faster as corruption invested resources in defending itself against the purification threatening its existence.

The darkness at Ren’s feet was no longer just like a shadow. It was a huge network. A web like living thing spreading across the battlefield. Connecting all corpses and draining them. Feeding power back to the host through channels that pulsed with dim purple light.

It was massive now. Growing with each second as tentacles reached farther.

Many tentacles reached, shot up from the ground and attacked Larissa directly.

Recognition that she was the primary source of light causing trouble. It was a targeting having a solid tactical logic from a strange entity fighting for its survival. Major threat elimination being priority before dealing with secondary threats.

Smart even. Not mindless corruption anymore but something approaching intelligence. But Larissa was protected…

Luna cut the tentacles with her wolf before they could reach Larissa.

Interception being executed with perfect timing coming from her attentive observation of how darkness moved. The shadow jaws had closed over the dark extensions and separated them from the main mass.

The severed tentacles withered and dissolved, returning to nothing like they’d never existed. But more grew to replace them. Faster and more aggressive. More numerous even.

It was a losing battle… For every one she destroyed, two appeared. The corruption was spending freely now, burning through its reserves and committing everything to survival because it recognized this was its final stand. Win here or die, no middle ground.

But Luna also stopped conserving mana and re-invoked her Celestial Tiger to support with additional light.

Second beast manifestation compromising sustainability but being justified by the immediate necessity. The tiger added its own luminous projection to the effort. Amplification transforming the constant pressure into an advantageous assault, making it difficult for corruption to maintain appropriate form around Ren’s body.

Two light sources now. Bracketing Ren from different angles and denying shadow the space to maneuver. Creating a cage of brilliance that contained darkness even as it fought to escape.

The corruption compressed. It was working. Liora was almost ready.

Spiritual power accumulated reaching a critical point where the technique could work with maximum effectiveness. The black fireball floating above her hands had grown to considerable size. Compressed energy being visible as distortion in air around a construction containing sufficient force to scorch completely through the corruption infecting Ren.

And it kept growing. Fed by everything she had, every ounce of ‘Will’ she could channel. Because this was it. One shot to save him or lose him forever.

Her hands trembled holding it. Not from weakness but from power. From containing a huge force that wanted to be released.

Just a few more seconds. Just a little more power. Just push it to the absolute limit where it would scorch away everything corrupt.

But in the end, just when Liora prepared to launch, the tentacles became even more aggressive in an energy explosion seeming to be corruption’s last resort.

It was a massive resource investment the controlling entity recognized as necessary. All-or-nothing bet also sacrificing its future sustainability in favor of preventing its immediate loss of such an incredible host.

The darkness exploded from Ren’s position in a wave pushing everything backward.

Force being sufficient to partially break Luna’s and Larissa’s containment and create an opening permitting corruption to escape. Light energy shattered… Cage broke.

Luna and Larissa were thrown back. Not far, but far enough.

And in that gap, corruption saw opportunity.

Yet Liora jumped to appear several meters above Ren and launched her attack in the next moment.
