Myths Reawakened

Wayne suspected that Veronica was lying to him, but didn’t have evidence. He wisely dropped the subject. “You don’t have to worry about Hestia. She’s very much pure, and she will not lose her purity. If one day she does, it must be because Hesione fails to keep a close eye on her. It won’t be my fault.”

“...” x3

The trio of magical girls shook their heads. Putting aside whether Hesione existed, Hestia’s lewd figure alone would make her a piece of scrumptious meat in the mouth of a wolf that had been starving for three days.

“You misjudged me. I’m a man of honor, okay...” Wayne grumbled, once again dropping the topic wisely. “Whatever the case, I am Śār Hesione now. Another Śār, Auriel, has descended...”

“The Lando family took over the throne... The Windsor family is Saint George’s descendants... Close enough to wear the same pants... Tomorrow night at six, there will be a banquet...”

Wayne breathed out a sigh. “Another despicable snake appeared beside the Queen. Since Auston will be of little use, I, Wayne, must charge into Buckingham Palace with my trusty sword to get rid of the bad apples, protecting the Crown and returning Windsor to peace.”

That took a turn all of a sudden. Veronica, Vera, and Kristen asked about tomorrow’s dinner banquet.

Wayne explained everything. Then he said, “I’ve arranged a card game at the Lando Estate tomorrow night. Master Silvia will be there. She wants to see how many girls her son has victimized, so do your best. Her score for you matters a lot. Veronica, you especially should be worried. Your score is in the negative, and Master Silvia has been urging me to break up with you.”

That old witch!

Veronica clenched her fists, swearing to show Silvia her mistakes tomorrow.

Kristen tilted her head. “Will Master be there?”

“Yes, Filomina will be there.”

“Anyone else?” Vera asked bluntly. That was the important question.

“Yes, but they’re all bodyguards I’ve assigned you.”

“They must all be girls...” Vera rolled her eyes.

“Not all of them...” Wayne mumbled. Bo was a man, and Do wasn’t even human.

Speaking of which, would it be alright for the vengeful spirits to play cards at the Lando Estate? Veronica disliked Ottilia. What if they started fighting, and Ottilia saw herself as inferior because of her contract with Wayne? Wouldn’t she suffer too much abuse?

Oh, his mother would be there to make sure Veronica couldn’t do that? That was fine, then!

“You’ve gathered so many people, many of them your secret lovers,” Vera said with a frown. “It’s not a measure against angels, is it?”

“It’s not. There’s a demon in Londan. With seven angels gathering for a meeting, if the demon gets ideas...” Wayne shook his head. He didn’t want to jinx themselves. “Anyway, dress up tomorrow. I don’t want you to feel inferior to others.”

“...”

Are you hearing yourself? x3

Veronica was curious about the dinner banquet at Buckingham Palace, but Kristen stopped her. So lost in her white moonlight’s beauty, Veronica agreed to play cards with her senior tomorrow.

Vera was worried, but she could only do as he said when he insisted.

Leo was still on a mission in the inner world. Without the Dawn Doctrine, she couldn’t offer any help, and even if she had access to the divine artifact, a novice knight like her would be no better than Auston. She would only drag Wayne down.

Excusing themselves, the three magical girls went upstairs to pick out their clothes.

While Hestia wailed, and Hesione rolled her eyes at him, Wayne picked up the phone and made several calls in a row.

“Ottilia? Yes, I just returned. My mother wants to meet you... It’s okay. She isn’t ready, either...”

“Mina, I’m reserving your night tomorrow... Oh, it’s a lady crying over me... Yes, she’s new, so you don’t know her...”

“Ana, it’s me. Tomorrow night... Bring Vichy and remember to tell her to taunt the current Darkness Knight...”

“Hello, Mom—ahem, I mean, Master. Tomorrow night...”

Finally, he hung up and wiped imaginary sweat off his forehead. His busy schedule was quite exhausting.

Behind him, Hestia was still wailing in Hesione’s embrace. Hesione represented the water element, so naturally, her subordinate wasn’t lacking in water, either. In no time, she soaked Hesione’s collar with her tears.

“Stop crying already. The Śār you so admire is a pervert. Never has he been pure.”

Under Hesione’s furious glare, Wayne offered Hestia some words of comfort. “Remember Gerar, who’s supposed to represent temperance? Look at him after his reincarnation... I’ll be frank with you. In Heaven, this is how the Seven Sacred Virtues are!”

“Grow up, Hestia. Once you see the real Heaven, you’ll finally become more than a Throne.”

“...”

Hestia looked up with tears in her eyes. Had the Śār changed his mind and would finally inject her with Golden Law and holy intent?

Look at your readiness to throw yourself at me. What are you thinking?

You’re making me want to do it!

Wayne rolled his eyes at Hestia. He was about to reject her, but seeing Hesione’s enraged look, he expressed his rejection in a more entertaining way.

“Hestia, it’s a good thing that you want to make progress. Why don’t I give you a chance?” Wayne patted Hesione on the shoulder. “My Golden Law and angelic evolution are both exclusively hers. If you can get her to share some with you, I’ll be there.”

Amused, he turned to Hesione with expectation. Hesione coldly pushed Hestia away, her eyes frosty and fierce with intensifying killing intent.

“Hesione, I like Hestia very much. You will not directly or indirectly hurt her!” Wayne said gleefully. “That’s an order. You know with what authority I’m making the order, don’t you?”

Hesione nodded with frustration. After a while, she finally bit out, “Are you... really not a demon?”

“Why? Do I have to be?”

“No. But Heaven doesn’t deserve such punishment.”

“You spoke as if I’m Heaven’s retribution.”

That night, the three magical girls refused to meet Wayne in the bedroom because there were guests at home.

Knowing that they were too proud to make the move, Wayne had to make the effort to visit them one by one. When it was time for him to visit the room next to Hestia’s, where Hesione was, Mona opened the door and let the bastard in.

No one visited Hestia. She spent the night crying some more.

May nineteenth, afternoon.

Wayne sent the trio of magical girls to the Lando Estate before heading to his own residence to put on the suit that Veryl had meticulously prepared for him. Today, he would attend the banquet as the head of the Lando family. Even though he was going to fight, he still had to dress himself properly for an impeccable presentation.

A classy suit was a must for the depraved high society.

Mona and Hestia presented themselves the same way as usual. Hestia was still wearing a loose clergywoman’s outfit, looking quite prudish.

It would be summer soon; in other words, it would soon be time for a beach episode. Wayne was curious what Hestia would look like in a swimsuit. He decided to reserve a beach for the revelation someday.

He was just satisfying his curiosity, nothing else. Moreover, as the ancient proverb went, the seventh and eighth episodes were for fan service, featuring either yukatas or swimsuits[1]. July and August were prime times to go to the beach.

Veryl spent half an hour working on Wayne, while Wayne’s bodyguard and secretary waited quietly on the side. Before he stepped out, a pleasant fragrance invited herself—Filomina, High Reverend of the Church of Moonlight.

Dressed in a long white dress, she wore her long blonde hair up and held herself with elegance. She was stunning.

“Oh? Why are you here? Heading to the Lando Estate with me?”

“No, I’m going to Buckingham Palace with you.”

“You know about it?”

“Do I look like an idiot to you?” Filomina glanced at Wayne. Spotting the newbie with a lewd figure, she groused, “The Tulip Families are attending the banquet tonight, but when I head to the Lando Estate, I found out that the Lando couple isn’t going. There are too many young girls there. I suspect that you’re short a companion. I’ll accompany you to the banquet.”

“There aren’t only young girls. There’s also a mature—”

“Shut up. I don’t want to hear it.” Filomina took his elbow and glared at Hestia. “Who’s your companion tonight? These two aren’t wearing formal dresses, so it’s not them.”

“I do need a companion.” Wayne smiled, leaning down to kiss her and savor her taste. “You attended the last banquet, but I wasn’t there to enjoy how you dominated the room with your beauty. I hope you’ll give me a chance this time.”

While her eyes curved into crescents, she complained, “You taste like lies. You must be lying to me again.”

They got into the back of the car. Filomina rested her head on Wayne’s shoulder, staking her claim to the secretary and bodyguard in the front. Annoyed, Mona pushed Hesione out to take over. Hesione was annoyed, too, but she couldn’t return the control to Mona. She could only seethe alongside Hestia.

“Who is this clergywoman, Wayne? Aren’t you going to introduce us?”

“That’s Hestia, a reincarnated angel.”

“...”

Filomina’s eyes widened. The bastard, no longer satisfied with messing with the churches, was extending his claws to Heaven now?

“Let me introduce myself,” Wayne said proudly. “I’m also a reincarnated angel. Do you know Hesione? The Śār who represents purity?”

“Liar!”

“...”

Time had changed. His harem became increasingly difficult to deceive.

“I’m not lying to you. I am Hesione, and Hestia is my subordinate in Heaven.”

“Then Hesione is too impure,” Filomina grumbled. “What a misfortune that Heaven has Hesione as the representation of purity.”

Her comment hit three targets. Wayne was too shameless to care, but Hestia turned to glare at Filomina. She couldn’t take the truth. She always disregarded the truth when it came to her superior. “Even if the Śār is covered in filth, he is still Purity, one of the Seven Sacred Virtues.”

Filomina’s lips twitched. Where did the easy prey come from? She had to keep a close eye on them so that Hestia wouldn’t be fooled by the professional conman, Wayne.

Hesione, on the other hand, still hadn’t gotten used to the regular jabs at her character. She glared at Hestia before looking at the beauty in the back through the rearview mirror. Yes, the Anointed One had fooled the women into giving away their bodies and hearts with his silver tongue, but putting aside the truths, were they not culpable in the slightest?

Why were they so easy to fool?!

Hesione resolved to recover her power and take Wayne to the Papal State as soon as possible. Once they were in Heaven, she would stay by the Anointed One’s side to keep all the women away.

“Mina, let me tell you about the main star of tonight’s banquet...”

“Śār Auriel, my archenemy in Heaven!”

Buckingham Palace.

Bedfrith paced around in the banquet hall. Among the crowd, Forest, the head of the Julian family, kept leaning over in anticipation of the arrival of the other main star of the banquet.

It had been thirty hours, a long, arduous thirty hours.

The demon was so anxious that he could die!
