I Am Your Natural Enemy

Wen Yan held his phone and looked up some information.

”Well, no surprise, reversing on the highway, the other party is fully liable, and might even end up with some serious penalties.”

”Can you tell my wife, if the compensation from the other party is substantial, then it’s settled?”

Wen Yan looked at the ghost with some surprise. He thought this ghost would be the type to have ’the other party is fully liable’ engraved on their tombstone even after death, but unexpectedly, it seemed he was only concerned about the compensation now.

Wen Yan scrolled further down the information, sighed softly, and didn’t say anything.

”Okay, I’ll pass on the message for you. Is there anything else you want to say?”

The ghost was stunned for a while, sighed, and shook his head.

”No, saying more won’t make a difference anyway.”

The ghost hid behind the cabinet, shrinking back in fear. Wen Yan shook his head and said nothing more.

He wouldn’t trouble an ordinary ghost like this, especially given the current context where ghosts are becoming more common, and the Scorching Sun Department’s attitude towards them is starting to change.

As he left the Body Disposal Department, heading to the Cremation Department, he saw an apprentice from the Body Disposal Department stopping some relatives at the entrance.

He thought they might be relatives of the ghost and was ready to convey the message.

Unexpectedly, as he got closer, he realized these were other relatives. Somehow, they heard that Big Sister Ye from the Body Disposal Department had great skills, so they brought a red envelope, hoping to ask her for help.

The apprentice was trying to explain in various ways. Seeing the relatives still a bit agitated, Wen Yan stepped forward, taking over the conversation directly.

”Whose relatives are you? What’s the name?”

”Ren Yubao.”

Wen Yan took out his phone, looked it up, and quickly found the information. The deceased was in a terrible state, unrecognizable.

”Put away the red envelope; your case is particularly difficult, only Big Sister Ye has the technique for it, so there’s no need to make a special request.

As for the craftsmanship, rest assured, Big Sister Ye has a very high professional level and attitude.

Also, don’t make a fuss here; there are other clients around.”

Hearing that their request would be met, coupled with Wen Yan’s somewhat hard tone, the relatives said no more.

Once those relatives left, Wen Yan glanced at the apprentice beside him.

”Big Sister Ye’s skills are the best I’ve seen, even after visiting several commanderies, so learn well. In the future, for cases like this, just find a colleague from the front yard to handle it.

Don’t worry about giving colleagues extra work. They’d probably rather haggle with the clients’ relatives than do paperwork in the office.

If the haggling goes well and the relatives are particularly pleased, they might even give a banner as thanks.

The establishment already has the talent for this, so make good use of it.”

He advised the apprentice a few more things casually. As he was about to leave, Wen Yan thought of the ghost inside and gave another reminder.

”Whatever happens, just follow Big Sister Ye and you’ll be fine, no need to worry.”

He then turned to go to the Cremation Department, where Old Zhang was almost ready.

This time, to be safe, Wen Yan was using the enhanced luxury furnace.

Although this furnace also handled regular clients, in Nanwu County, even the wealthy seldom spend money on something that can’t be seen, usually opting for a luxury furnace, which suffices.

Wen Yan arrived at the site and first gave the enhanced luxury furnace a blessing of Yang energy, aiming to increase its power just a bit more.

Then he specifically retrieved some documents to check, ensuring that the enhanced luxury furnace had accounted for all possible scenarios.

Not only was it more powerful with a higher temperature, but it also featured electromagnetic shielding, full signal band shielding, and multiple combustion methods.

When dealing with special items, as long as the weight wasn’t excessive, it could even ensure that the item didn’t touch the furnace walls during combustion.

Based on many years of experience in the Scorching Sun Department, everything Wen Yan could think of, or couldn’t think of, others likely had practical experience with.

He took the device, kept it entirely to himself without passing it through anyone else’s hands, and personally placed it into the cremation furnace.

The device in Wen Yan’s hand was simply too crude and its function too basic. Without personal handling, anyone else would be useless.

By completely incinerating this, the final medium for the creator will disappear.

The electronic being, like rootless duckweed, would die without leaving even ashes behind.

As he pressed the ignition button, the multi-layered shockproof and noise-canceling equipment still seemed to emit an angry roar, and the fierce flames, could not be completely concealed.

The pure destructive flames howled, consuming everything inside.

From an invisible perspective, the flames roared, and the device tumbled within the furnace without contacting its walls, the flames incinerating it, obliterating the creator stored within completely.

Following the standard procedure, an hour of incineration ended and the cooling phase began.

After cooling, Old Zhang, fully armed, performed the cleaning with triple the usual precision and duration, meticulously gathering every corner’s residue.

Everything was done to the highest standard, so after this gathering, even Old Zhang’s protective suit would have to be destroyed.

Holding a palm-sized urn, Wen Yan immediately set out to the seaside, scattering its contents into the ocean to complete the standard procedure.

Having done all of this, he finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.
