Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Ye Bai looked at Shen You, ”What did you order?”

Shen You replied, ”Coconut squares, jade minced meat wheat buns, nutritious breakfast rolls, sweet potato cakes, steamed dumplings, milk tea.”

Ye Bai listened and nodded happily, a subtle smile on her face.

The morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a golden haze on her face.

Shen You stared at her, lost in thought.

Ye Bai looked up at him, noticing his gaze, ”Is there something on my face?”

Shen You paused and replied, ”There’s a drool mark. Wait, I’ll wipe it for you.”

Ye Bai, unaware of his intentions, sat still, unable to see the mark herself.

Shen You got out of bed, wearing a white shirt, and tore a piece of tissue from nearby, walking towards Ye Bai.

Ye Bai looked up at Shen You.

Shen You instructed, ”Sit there, don’t move.”

Ye Bai remained still.

Shen You gently wiped the corner of her mouth, his eyes fixed on her cherry-red lips. His fingers glided over her baby-soft cheeks, reluctant to leave, wiping again and again with increasingly gentle movements, his gaze deepening.

Ye Bai was oblivious, ”Did you wipe it clean yet?”

Shen You said, ”It’s done.”

He moved his hand away and sat beside her.

Ye Bai felt a bit embarrassed; she didn’t expect she drooled in her sleep!

She always thought she slept very well!

Thinking of how Xiaojiu sometimes drooled while sleeping, could it be inherited?

Shen You looked at Ye Bai, ”Don’t you have a wife? How do you usually get along?”

Ye Bai looked at Shen You, ”She has someone she loves. Her family didn’t agree, and when she came to the Ye Family, her love interest came to our home as a servant. They’re together every day.”

Shen You nodded, ”I see.”

He looked at Ye Bai.

Ye Bai truly seemed quite naive in matters of love.

Thinking again, she’s only about twenty-one now.

He glanced at Ye Bai and casually said, ”I heard Chu He likes you.”

Ye Bai looked at Shen You, ”...”

He actually knows!

It seems Chu He really does like her, but she doesn’t like Chu He! Also, Chu He has been saying absurd things to Xiaojiu lately, making her very angry.

Shen You observed Ye Bai’s expression. He had just heard the name, and mentioning it as a passing comment unexpectedly confirmed the situation, as if he’d spoken a prophecy! Suddenly, there was one more rival in love.

And Chu He is often around Ye Bai, causing Shen You to feel a sense of crisis.

His gaze fell onto Ye Bai, ”Don’t you like Chu He? He seems quite handsome.”

Ye Bai shook her head and glanced at Shen You, wondering what he saw as handsome?

Is that handsome?

He’s not ugly, but definitely not handsome!

Shen You remarked, ”Given that you like—”

Ye Bai, ”...”

Shen You must have some nerve damage!

Which eye of his saw that she liked him?

She interrupted Shen You, irritated, ”I don’t like him.”

Upon hearing these three words, Shen You breathed a sigh of relief.

Ye Bai was just about to speak when there was a knock at the door.

Shen You left the hospital room and went to the living room, opening the door to find the delivery, then looked back towards the hospital room, ”Come out and eat breakfast.”

Mentioning Chu He had initially upset Ye Bai, but hearing about breakfast improved her mood again.

She went to the bathroom, washed her hands, and came out to find breakfast all laid out on the table. She sat down, just about to grab the chopsticks.

Shen You reached for them before she did, ”Hold on.”

Ye Bai nearly touched Shen You’s hand, but quickly withdrew, looking sideways at Shen You.

Shen You sat there, splitting the disposable chopsticks, scraping them against each other, and then handed them to Ye Bai, ”Otherwise, there will be splinters.”
