Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”Nuannuan, what’s up?”

Wen Nuan heard that Shu Ran had gone to the army base, and she couldn’t help feeling a bit envious. Taking the excuse of checking in, she made this call, ”Mom, is it tough over there at the base?”

Shu Ran said, ”It’s okay, I can manage.”

Wen Nuan heard that the mayor and Auntie Zhong had gone to the base and felt a bit itchy with the thought of joining, ”Mom, have you gotten a tan? The sunscreen Grandma bought for me works really well; I’ll bring it over for you.”

Hearing this, Shu Ran stood up to look in the mirror and noticed she had indeed gotten a bit tanned, ”Sure, that sounds great.”

Wen Nuan couldn’t help but jump with joy, feeling like her little universe was about to explode, ”Mom, I’ll come see you next weekend with Xiaosan.”

Shu Ran said, ”Hmm, I wonder if he’s busy?”

Wen Nuan glanced at Qin Shaojin and sweetly spoke up, ”No matter how busy he is, he has to make time to visit Mom.”

Hearing this, Shu Ran was very happy, ”Come if you have the time.”

Wen Nuan replied, ”Okay.”

...

After the call, she looked at Qin Shaojin, ”I’ve already told Mom we’ll visit next week, and you can’t say no.”

Qin Shaojin replied, ”No time.”

Wen Nuan was speechless, ”...”

He actually denied her face!

She stared straight at Qin Shaojin.

Qin Shaojin looked at Wen Nuan, pinched her cheek, ”I can go, but...”

Wen Nuan suspiciously stared at Qin Shaojin.

Qin Shaojin pointed to the three on the bed, ”Starting tonight, let them sleep in the room next door.”

Wen Nuan said, ”No!”

Qin Shaojin said, ”Then I’m not going.”

Wen Nuan stared at Qin Shaojin, ”You’re... you’re not being filial.”

Qin Shaojin pointed to the three sleeping soundly on the bed, ”They’re even less filial.”

Wen Nuan discontentedly voiced, ”They’re so small, they don’t even know what filial piety is.”

Qin Shaojin thought about getting kicked out of bed every night by a group of little rascals, feeling utterly displeased, ”They’re already more than a year old and should start learning independence.”

Wen Nuan looked at Qin Shaojin without speaking.

What to do with such adorable babies?

Every day kissing Xiaoshi, kissing Xiaoshiyi, kissing Xiaoshi’er—they’re just so blissfully happy.

Qin Shaojin lightly coughed, ”I asked Shen Mubai, and it’s time for Xiaoshi, Xiaoshiyi, and Xiaoshi’er to start early education.”

Wen Nuan widened her eyes, ”But Xiaoliao and Xiaoqi didn’t learn it.”

Qin Shaojin was speechless, ”...”

How could she be this quick to react!

It’s been months of abstinence, hasn’t it?

Back then, he thought they were cute, but as they grew older, they’re less so; every day they’re only focused on fighting for their mom’s attention, and how on earth is he expected to win against three?

Even more irritatingly, these three push him off the bed every night.

Afraid of crushing them, he ends up sleeping closer and closer to the edge until finally there’s a thud, and he’s on the floor.

After a while, he spoke up, ”Auntie Zhong Qin is a college professor and can teach Xiaoliao and Xiaoqi herself. Plus, Huanhuan writes such good scripts, which are culturally enriching. We both work during the day, so where would we find the time, right?”

Wen Nuan was speechless, ”...”

Thinking about being a part-time graduate student herself, then having to write a thesis and take exams after some time, it really seemed like there was no time.

Suddenly, thinking of the Qin Family’s old master, she looked at Qin Shaojin, ”Grandpa is also a professor, so you...”

Qin Shaojin looked at Wen Nuan, ”Do you think Grandpa can handle teaching four by himself? Plus, Fourth Aunt’s about to give birth. Soon, Grandma has been caring for them there, and after Fourth Aunt gives birth, Grandpa and Grandma will be going back there to help.”

Wen Nuan listened and realized, how true!

Auntie’s about to give birth!

It’s already full-term, but there’s been no movement yet.

Thinking of this, she called Wen Ru, but no one picked up the phone!
