Daddy Always Gets Jealous

The feeling of drowning is terrible, it feels like I’m constantly sinking.

She knows how to swim, and she’s quite good at it, but in the surging waves, her arms felt weak, unable to exert any strength.

Is this it? Am I really going to die?

Her whole body felt uncomfortable.

Her consciousness gradually blurred.

In the chaos, she suddenly felt a pair of strong arms supporting her body, swimming upward. An oxygen mask was pressed on her face, and her breathing instantly became smooth.

By the time she reached the surface, there were no more big waves or whirlpools.

Yu Zimu, Qin Shaojin, and Shen You had already made it to shore, along with two villagers.

Qin Shaonan carried Qiao Qiao ashore.

Qiao Qiao held tightly onto Qin Shaonan.

Qin Shaonan cupped her face and softly reassured her, ”It’s okay now.”

Qiao Qiao cried, tears of fright.

She thought she’d never see him again.

Qin Shaojin gently cleared his throat and looked away.

Shen You also turned his head, kicking Yu Zimu lightly, lowering his voice, ”You purposely capsized the boat.”

Yu Zimu, ”...”

He hadn’t expected this kind of scene, wasn’t it an accident? But at least it gave brother Nan a chance to shine, right?

In the end, brother Nan seized the opportunity, but what about him?

When the boat capsized, there was a bit of chaos. After a jumbled moment of consciousness, opening his eyes, he saw no one around, just an expanse of bubbling water.

He immediately panicked, trying to cry out for help, only to end up gulping down a mouthful of river water—what a sharp taste!

Trying to surface, he found himself pinned under the kayak—what a bitter twist!

He thought, this is bad, I’m going to suffocate. Instinctively feeling around the bottom of the boat, he slowly edged to the side, sensing more light, indicating he had left the bottom of the boat. Struggling upward, he finally broke the surface, but before he could breathe, another wave knocked him underwater.

If it weren’t for Qin Xiaosan grabbing him, he might have been done for himself!

But looking back, that feeling was strange—helpless, fearful, aware of imminent death, yet finding it novel.

Is there something wrong with my worldview?

The villagers on either side looked at Yu Zimu and his group, ”You guys are pretty impressive.”

Yu Zimu stayed silent.

Shen You and Qin Shaojin replied, ”Just average.”

After a while, the two people nearby finally stopped showing off their affection.

Qiao Qiao felt a bit embarrassed, standing there, not daring to look in the direction of Qin Shaojin, Yu Zimu, and Shen You.

Am I being too cowardly?

But I was really scared!

He was just comforting me, reassuring me.

Qin Shaonan raised his hand, smoothing Qiao Qiao’s wet hair back, ”They’re blind, they can’t see anything.”

Qiao Qiao, ”...”

Yu Zimu, ”Yeah, sis-in-law, brother Nan is right, we’re all blind.”

Shen You chimed in, ”I’ve been blind for many years now.”

Qin Shaojin, ”I’ve been without vision since I was in the womb.”

...

The water here isn’t cold, and a few people jumped in, starting to swim.

Qiao Qiao wasn’t afraid anymore, having a great time playing in the water.

She looked at Qin Shaonan, feeling a new kind of emotion, like they’d gone through life and death together.

Soon after, they saw another kayak approaching, and unsurprisingly, it capsized too.

Yu Zimu splashed some water in the direction of Shen You and Qin Shaojin, ”It’s pretty nice here, watching others capsize—what a thrill!”

In the evening, after dinner, they set off on their return journey.

Qiao Qiao sat in the car, exhausted, leaning on Qin Shaonan, and quickly fell asleep.

Qin Shaonan sat there, with one arm around Qiao Qiao.

Yu Zimu was driving, Qin Shaojin sat next to him, while poor Shen You, stuck sitting beside Qin Shaonan, thought about moving to the back seat, which was piled with stuff!

He looked toward Qin Shaonan.

Qin Shaonan looked at Shen You, ”If you don’t want to sit, you can walk back.”
