Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 1376: Chapter 1391: Courting Huo’s Wrath (66)

Huo Jinnan looked at Huo Bei, ”Mm.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he opened the car door and got in, sitting in the back seat and pressing down on his temples to relieve the fatigue of a long day, ”Did we disturb Madam?”

”No.”

Huo Bei sat in the driver’s seat and started the car.

Huo Jinnan closed his eyes and said nothing more.

He hadn’t relaxed for a long time and quickly fell asleep.

By the time they reached Nanyuan Villa, Huo Jinnan was fast asleep in the back seat.

Huo Bei sat in the driver’s seat smoking, not making any sound to disturb him, silently turning off the car’s lights.

Two hours later, Huo Jinnan suddenly opened his eyes, met with complete darkness.

He lifted his wristwatch to check the time; it was already three o’clock, ”Why didn’t you wake me?”

Huo Bei got out of the driver’s seat and moved to the back seat to help Huo Jinnan open the car door, ”Sir, you’ve worked hard.”

Huo Jinnan got out of the car, ”Everyone’s worked hard, in a few days, take your sister out to play, my treat.”

Huo Bei looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Thank you, sir.”

Huo Jinnan entered Nanyuan Villa, ”Go home and rest early.”

Huo Bei watched Huo Jinnan’s back as he returned to the car and drove to where Xiaoxi lived.

————Nanyuan Villa————

Huo Jinnan returned to the bedroom, pushed open the door, the wall lamp was on, and the sound of Qin Huan, Xiaoliao, and Xiaoqi’s deep breaths filled the room.

He bent down beside Xiaoqi, planted a kiss on her cheek, then pinched her little hand, holding it briefly. He looked over at Xiaoliao, squeezed his big toe, suddenly finding it adorable, and couldn’t resist giving it a kiss as well. He took off his suit and entered the bathroom.

After showering, it was already three-thirty.

..................

The next day, when Qin Huan awoke, she hadn’t had time to open her eyes, shifted a little, and felt something off.

There was someone on the bed!

Her breathing became uneven, just as she was about to kick him off, she caught a familiar scent. Without opening her eyes, she snuggled closer into Huo Jinnan’s embrace.

It wasn’t until Xiaoliao started crying that she opened her eyes and quickly got out of bed.

She picked Xiaoliao up from the crib, glanced at the still-sleeping Xiaoqi, and sat down at the bedside with Xiaoliao in her arms, feeding him while watching Huo Jinnan.

In all the time they’d known each other, she’d rarely seen him sleep in like this; this was a first.

Thinking about how he left yesterday morning and returned in the middle of the night, most of the time must have been spent on the road.

Sleeping so soundly, the issue with the assassin must be resolved, right?

It was around ten when Huo Jinnan finally woke up, glanced at the sky outside, and got up from the bed, finding the room empty.

After washing up, he went downstairs and saw Qin Huan, Zhong Qin, the old man, the little ones, and the Commander just coming back from a walk with the kids. Ye Bai was nowhere to be seen; she was probably asleep in her room.

The old man looked at Huo Jinnan with concern, ”What time did you get back last night?”

Huo Jinnan, ”It was three in the morning when I got back.”

”Was the problem with the assassin resolved?”

”It’s settled, though it did cost a bit of money.”

The old man noted his casual tone, as if it was smooth sailing, though it was anything but during the harrowing ordeal. However, thinking it couldn’t have been that easy, he had worried last night and hadn’t slept well.

But he didn’t mention it, ”That’s good, at least the busy times are over.”

Huo Jinnan stood there, looking at Qin Huan, his eyes as deep as ink.

Qin Huan smiled back at Huo Jinnan, exuding a sense of spring in the air!

Just as Huo Jinnan was about to speak, his phone rang. Seeing it was Yu Zimu, he picked it up.
