Daddy Always Gets Jealous

It was an indescribable feeling, incredibly uncomfortable, just like a poisonous thorn, deeply piercing into the heart.

Looking toward the door, thinking of him.

He must be smoking now, right?

Through a door, it seemed possible to see the way he smoked, the expression on his face when he smoked, the way his eyebrows furrowed...

The little one looked at Che Huan and gently touched her hand, ”Huanhuan, I’ve never seen Huo Jinnan be so nice to anyone before, not even to me.”

Che Huan, ”...”

The little one looked up at Che Huan, puffed up her cheeks and said, ”He’s just a bit clumsy with his words, maybe not so good at sweet-talking, right?”

”...”

Che Huan didn’t utter a word, just looked down at the little one.

The little one furrowed her brows, ah, that damned old man, and that wicked woman, and that Huo Qichang, they really made Huo Jinnan suffer!

Che Huan looked at the little one, biting her lower lip.

The little one pursed her lips, ”Huanhuan, then just ignore Huo Jinnan for a while, it’s okay, I’m still here with you.”

Che Huan ”hmm” a response, managed a forced smile at the little one, picked up her phone, looked at her mother’s number, wanted to call her to see if she was okay, but suddenly lacked the courage to do it, not knowing what to say if the call went through.

Mom probably wouldn’t want people to know, right?

So, she would act as if she knew nothing.

Clenching the phone in her hand, held it for a while, then placed it on the bed.

The little one saw that Huanhuan looked heavily burdened and unhappy, and, thinking about the words she’d heard these past few days, if it were her, she’d be very angry too, very angry, and might do something terrible.

Looking at Che Huan again, really afraid that Huanhuan might suddenly disappear, leaving him and Huo Jinnan behind.

Forget it, let Huo Jinnan suffer a bit for now, she had to stay by Huanhuan’s side all the time, at least, she could occasionally speak a good word in Huanhuan’s ear about Huo Jinnan.

...

The next day, when Che Huan awoke and came out of the ward, she saw Huo Jinnan sitting on the sofa, smoking. Her gaze fell on the ashtray beside him—

Countless cigarette butts!

”You... you haven’t slept all night, have you?”

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, trying to speak in a normal voice.

Huo Jinnan put out the cigarette, looked at Che Huan, stood up, walked to the balcony, opened the window there, and then turned to walk toward Che Huan.

Che Huan quietly stood there, watching Huo Jinnan, suddenly feeling as if years had passed in an instant.

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”I don’t want this child.”

”What... what did you say?”

Che Huan stared at Huo Jinnan, disbelievingly fixed on him.

Huo Jinnan looked at her, ”I don’t want the child.”

”Why... why not?”

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, biting her lip hard, tears welling up in her eyes.

In the hospital room, she had imagined many times what his first words would be after she came out, never expecting it to be a sentence like this.

It was like a nightmare that recurs every five years!

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, his large hand steadying her shoulders, ”Huanhuan, be obedient, let it go. They’re capable of anything right now, I don’t want to risk your safety.”

”...”

Che Huan stood there, silent, feeling a chill spreading through her body.

She could stay indoors, go nowhere, stay in one place for twenty-four hours, but she couldn’t give up this child!

Huo Jinnan’s eyes were heavy as he looked at her, ”Huanhuan!”

Che Huan shook her head, pushed Huo Jinnan away with her hands, her body involuntarily stepping back, ”It’s okay, if you don’t want it, I want it!”
