Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

At that moment, while the people of that faction were still perplexed, Uswyn’s voice echoed in the air.

”Congratulations, you are the first to reach the end. So, you have already been approved to become outer disciples of the Ironweald sect.”

Hearing that, the bodies of all those rejected youths froze. They could barely believe what their ears had heard. Their eyes trembled, and an indescribable emotion took over them.

”However. In every region of the sect, its various factions compete for resources. So, all five factions in this final test are already taking part in the first selection. Those who arrived first gain more points than the others. Besides that, ahead of you is a final test for the Super Geniuses.” Her voice paused, and everyone looked forward, tense.

”Whoever defeats their puppet corpse will receive more points. The speed at which you defeat it, and all the parameters of your fight, will also count toward gaining more points. In the end, the points of all factions will be announced. Even if a faction arrives last in this initial race, if the Super Genius is far superior and defeats this enemy very easily, it is possible to place second or even first.”

”Obviously, first place among the winners will enter the sect with a resource bonus far superior to the others. I wish you good luck.”

She finished calmly, and then everyone in that faction turned toward Priam ahead.

He snorted lightly, then wasted no time and walked forward alone.

He could already tell that those lizards possessed some kind of special defensive ability. Their scales seemed capable of automatically releasing something similar to a defensive earth Magical Art.

Just by sensing their energies, there was, in fact, no specific weak point. The only way to defeat them was through absolute strength. It was a true challenge for the Super Geniuses.

Priam approached the barrier bubble where one of them was.

Everyone in his faction watched him fixedly, clenching their fists, anxious. Then he advanced, passing through it easily.

Inside, an aura of decay filled the air. The cold was intense, and the deadly pressure he felt on his back was gigantic.

As soon as he entered, he realized that the interior space was much larger than it appeared from the outside.

*ROAR!*

A deafening roar suddenly echoed from the center of that space. He saw that puppet corpse move. The Beast hissed at him, revealing a tongue similar to that of a venomous viper.

Priam struck his fists together, releasing an impactful sound.

Blood-Feast Fists was activated to the maximum, and a red flame flowed over his fists.

*Wooosh!*

Priam took a step and disappeared, along with a gust of wind.

In the next second, he appeared behind the enemy, already striking!

But Priam was surprised to see the lizard react immediately, delivering a blow with one of its claws.

*BANG!*

Priam was thrown backward, feeling his hand go numb.

’It’s that powerful?!’ he thought, shocked.

Just now, although he had only burned part of his vital energy, he already felt that even if he used 100%, he would only cause superficial damage.

Rumbling Heavens wouldn’t have much effect, because the damage spread over a large area.

As for his concentrated strike of the wind element... he felt those defenses were too high, and he would possibly only burn his Ether for nothing.

His only way out would be to use a power rune. But the best one he could create would only give him a temporary berserker power boost, which wouldn’t change his situation much.

There was another way... which was to use, for the first time, the full extent of his synthesis ability. After all, now he had countless energies and resources stored away, so he could create something specific for the situation.

Priam didn’t have much time to think. The lizard, with its claw intact, attacked him again.

That corpse was large, but its movements were still extremely agile. A claw came toward him, and Priam dodged quickly. The sharp claws grazed past his face.

At that moment, Priam nodded, releasing an energy stored inside his Nexus Seed.

At the same time as he dodged, Priam pointed his finger.

*Buzz*

An emerald-green lightning bolt advanced like a spear, striking the lizard’s eyes.

Its reactions were fast, and it stretched out a claw that shattered the lightning.

However, when it was hit, it clearly stiffened a little.

’It worked!’ Priam was pleasantly surprised to see that. He hadn’t expected a small test to cause such a reaction.

This armored monster was dead, moving and managing to fight through a dark technique. So, without vital energy, its body emitted the Yin of death, which naturally rejected Yang.

The lightning element, just like fire, was composed mainly of Yang.

Priam moved the power of the lightning he had absorbed from Gangrel during that final fight in the clan’s coming-of-age test. That lightning was the purest, and the best he could find in the Mortal Plane.

’Who would’ve thought that bastard, even now, after dying, would still contribute something.’

This small test confirmed that Gangrel’s lightning was one of the lizard’s weaknesses.

He was about to take advantage of that when he felt a strange current of air behind him. Almost instinctively, he turned and attacked backward.

*BOOM!*

Priam shot away like a cannonball, tearing through the ground.

All the rejected youths of his faction watched everything with fixed eyes and stunned expressions.

The entire exchange of blows happened in three seconds, and both their movements and the power of their strikes made everyone’s hearts speed up.

To them, this monster was invincible.

As for Priam...

Practically all the rejected ones were Mage Disciples between the first and fifth level. But even though Priam was only at the elementary level, he was already on a completely different level from them.

Priam stood up and coughed blood.

He hadn’t imagined that the lizard would be so cunning. At the same time it attacked him from the front, it silently stretched out its long tail to attack him from behind as well.

If he had been hit directly, even with his powerful physique, he probably would have exploded instantly. Fortunately, the reflexes of a Transcendental Anima were extreme; because of that, he reacted by attacking in time.

He broke countless bones, but the power of nature healed him completely.

Regaining his balance, Priam wiped the blood flowing from the corner of his mouth.

The lizard was already in front of him; then it opened its mouth. A terrifying purple poison shot in his direction.

Priam’s scalp went numb. Without even thinking twice, he burned energy to use the power of wind and dodge.

The poison hit the ground where he had been.

A sinister smoke rose up.

A huge hole opened in that spot. Not only that, but it kept advancing, as if it were a living poison that moved and melted everything around it. Only after a few meters did it stop.

Priam snorted, then turned toward the enemy and moved, now a thousand times more careful of its mouth.

The two looked like blurs inside that bubble.

Sounds of impact now echoed again and again, and both of them began to measure each other’s limits.

Minutes slowly passed. Priam ran many tests, moving several other stored energies, searching for other things that could affect that creature’s defenses.

At that same instant...

”Not good!”

A frightened shout came from behind.

Priam dodged and moved away from the enemy by pure reflex. Then... when he turned to look outside that bubble...

A wave of elemental power advanced thunderously, falling over his faction.

In front of it was Walhart, with a gloomy expression.

”DIE!”
