Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage

The next day, Priam didn’t wake up until late in the morning. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he felt was an incredible sense of well-being. It was as if his body was overflowing with energy.

As he clenched his fists, he felt almost limitless vitality and strength flowing through his veins.

But when he focused on his ’two cores,’ his expression changed.

Inside the Nexus Seed within his soul, he noticed a small crack appearing at its center. It immediately sent him into a panic, but in the next second, he noticed a bright energy flowing through the crack.

Focusing on it, he felt that energy was extremely similar to something spread throughout his entire body.

’Is this vital energy?’ he thought, still confused.

After reflecting a bit on the basic knowledge of Magic and Energies, he understood. In all living beings, besides Yin and Yang, there were three things known as the powers of life: vital energy, soul power, and mind power.

Vital energy was abundant during youth but declined with age. At the same time, it was the easiest power for any Mage to use, granting an enormous boost in strength during extreme situations. Of course, the price of using it was one’s own lifespan.

Based on its technical description, Priam was certain that was exactly what was flowing out of the Nexus Seed.

Soul power and mind power were far more mysterious, profound, and difficult to manipulate. Only Mage Races specialized in those aspects could use them efficiently. Those types of Mages were absurdly feared.

Alchemists, for example, although they didn’t dedicate their lives to combat power or offensive techniques, naturally developed great soul power and mastery over the fire element because of their profession. Because of that, they could never be underestimated, since when cornered, they had the option of sacrificing themselves and taking any enemy down with them.

Returning to Priam.

’...the name ”Seed” in Nexus Seed probably wasn’t chosen for no reason. And now... this thing inside it seems to be starting to sprout? Is it literally a seed growing inside my soul?’

The basic information he had received mentioned nothing about that. He merely snorted, deciding to investigate it further in the future.

Within just a few days, an absurd rumor began spreading among the Mages of the entire planet Verdant Star, Priam’s home planet.

Supreme healing pills, normally impossible to obtain, were being auctioned by the Ylisse Clan in a small rural city.

At first, many ignored the news. But soon, several renowned figures confirmed its authenticity.

Anyone who doubted it could travel to the city and personally evaluate the pills with their own senses. As a result, everyone interested immediately sent people to verify whether the claims were true.

The pills were announced first, and all interested parties would have two months to confirm the legitimacy of the information. Only after that would the auction take place, with the pills being sold in sets of five.

Since the event was being organized by a branch family of the Ylisse Clan, nobody was insane enough to try robbing it or causing trouble.

Soon, the auction began, and the first set was sold for 250,000 black gold coins.

Instead of decreasing in value, the following sets became even more expensive, with everyone desperately wanting to get their hands on those pills.

In the end, all 15 sets were sold for a total of 16 million black gold coins. It was a truly staggering profit.

Everyone who failed to acquire any became incredibly furious and begged to find out who had created those pills and where that person was. But the Ylisse Clan simply ignored all questions.

Until...

A month later, another auction was announced.

This time, Ether pills and many other types would be sold.

Before the second auction began, the silence in Priam’s residence was almost absolute.

Priam and Flaris stood before a silver-haired woman whose face, marked by deep wrinkles, told the story of years of suffering.

”Son... what... you can’t...”

Priam’s mother stammered, her eyes fixed on the fortune in black gold he had just shown her. Her hands were trembling so much that she had to clasp them together to keep herself steady.

”Mom, I didn’t do anything wrong,” Priam said with a seriousness that didn’t match his age. ”I simply discovered that I have a special talent for manipulating pills. I’m not an alchemist. But this is the fruit of my work.”

Beside him, Flaris stepped forward, backing up Priam’s words.

”Aunt Seien, I guarantee it. I saw Cousin’s work with my own eyes. My family personally organized the auction and sold everything he created. This money is legitimate and belongs to Priam.”

Seien was the woman’s name.

She remained motionless for several seconds. The initial shock slowly gave way to a slight tremble in her eyelids, while the air around her seemed to grow heavier.

”Mom, don’t cry. I promise I won’t let you suffer anymore,” Priam continued, feeling a pain in his chest as he saw her in that state. ”I’m almost fifteen; in a few months, I’ll officially be an adult. If my father is still alive, I’ll find him and bring him back. For now, just rest. Leave everything else to me.”

At the mention of her husband, Seien’s expression showed no relief. On the contrary, her features twisted into a mask of suppressed pain.

Priam immediately realized it: she didn’t know whether her husband was still alive, but she had a clear idea of where he might be... and that possibility seemed to be a true nightmare to her.

”Alright...” she murmured, her voice almost fading away.

A few silent seconds passed. At that moment, Priam felt a light impact against his shin.

Flaris had discreetly kicked him, signaling with her eyes for him to go to his mother.

Priam understood the meaning immediately, but... despair and fear overwhelmed him for a moment. In his past lives, he had never known what it was like to have a real mother. In fact... just hearing the word ’mother’ stirred an instinctive hatred within him.

Affection was completely foreign territory to him. Yet, under Flaris’s deadly gaze and the sound of soft sobbing coming from his mother... he took a deep breath and slowly approached.

When he reached that woman, something almost magical happened. His body moved on its own, wrapping her in an embrace.

His eyes widened for a moment. Then, the memories of the old Priam flooded his mind, illuminating all the love and devotion this woman had given him. Any negative feelings or desire to reject her vanished without a trace.

The next instant, it was as if a dam had burst.

Seien buried her face in her son’s chest and let out a muffled sob, heavy with decades of accumulated pain. Her arms wrapped around him with desperate strength, as though he were the only thing keeping her from completely falling apart.

An instinctive chill ran down Priam’s spine.

The emotion radiating from her wasn’t just sadness or relief; there was something far denser, abnormal, and saturated with an almost prophetic fear of the future. At that moment, he reached a dark conclusion: his mother was hiding something far bigger than he had imagined.

Perhaps his father’s disappearance was only the tip of the iceberg of a secret she would rather take to the grave.

Priam took a deep breath and turned his attention back to the system.

[Name: Seien Blythewood]

[Race: Cursed Forest Elf]

[Magic Title: Fighter Mage Acolyte, Third Level]

[Karmic Title: Missionary of the Goddess]

[Bloodline: 50]

[Anima: 40]

[Wheel of Fate: 5]

[Loyalty: Transcendent]

Priam looked over his mother’s status amidst his confusion and shock. Her Bloodline and Anima were within expectations; his mother wasn’t exactly an extraordinary Mage. But... her Wheel of Fate was so low that it couldn’t even be described as merely bad.

Moreover... her title from a previous life was ’Missionary of the Goddess.’

’Goddess... could this have something to do with those 6?’ Priam wondered, feeling the warmth and affection radiating from his mother right beside him.

He was dazed, completely overwhelmed by the powerful emotions coming from her and seeping into every part of him. His only wish now was to keep her safe and well. If his father was still alive, he would bring him back no matter the cost.
