The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

The room was silent. After a while, Liu Ping struggled to speak.

”These are chips, you know. They were implanted at birth, have never malfunctioned, and no one has ever succeeded in removing them. Much less having them fall off automatically.” Liu Ping looked at Chen Jinglou and Tianmiao incredulously.

”Who are you really?” Wei Yao also looked at Chen Jinglou and Tianmiao in disbelief.

”I’m here to pick up garbage,” Chen Jinglou said earnestly.

Wei Yao and Liu Ping glared at Wu Yun. Wu Yun scratched his head sheepishly, blaming himself for blurting out something foolish without thinking.

”Put out your hand,” Tianmiao pointed at Wei Yao.

Wei Yao quickly extended her wrist to Tianmiao. The next moment, Tianmiao helped her to remove the chip.

”How did you do it?” Wei Yao looked at the chip in Tianmiao’s hand in shock and asked.

”I said my mother has supernatural abilities and you didn’t believe me,” Chen Jinglou said, rolling his eyes.

”We believe you now.” Liu Ping picked up Tianmiao from his chest and sat upright, looking at Chen Jinglou and Tianmiao, ”We’ve studied this chip for a long time, but still can’t remove it without causing harm to ourselves. Thank you both.”

”Once the chip is removed, we’ll be detected immediately if we leave this room,” Wu Yun spoke up, ”I’ll think of a way to modify it, so Nuwa won’t realize we’ve taken out the chip.”

”If we’re detected and caught, if we can’t find a way to disguise it, will we have to reinstall the chip?” Chen Jinglou asked.

”No way! I’ll definitely find a solution,” Wu Yun said, clutching his wrist with lingering fear, ”With this thing installed, I feel like a marionette. No! Worse than a marionette. A marionette has no awareness and is controlled to perform actions, but we are conscious yet forced to act against our will. Or else we’ll be taken away and destroyed.”

”So, Teacher Chen, do you also believe this world’s operating system is flawed?” Wei Yao looked at Chen Jinglou.

”Yes. Completely wrong!” Chen Jinglou nodded, ”So let’s change the world.”

Wu Yun and the other two stared at Chen Jinglou in shock.

”What? Did I say something wrong?” Chen Jinglou asked, puzzled.

”We just want to remove this chip without being discovered, and start living the life we want,” Wei Yao said, ”We don’t have such grand ideals, and we can’t achieve them.”

”You can achieve them, why can’t you? Moreover, even if you successfully remove the chip and deceive the main brain, won’t the main brain still assess your behavior through your surroundings?” Chen Jinglou asked, ”What about your parents? Don’t you want to save them?”

Wu Yun and the other two suddenly fell silent.

”My dad faced a layoff when I was in middle school, and he was sent home. He really worked hard trying to find another job. During that time, our whole family was under immense pressure, worrying daily about my dad’s chip calculations. Half a month later, dad found a new job, and our family was happy, thinking the crisis had passed,” Liu Ping said slowly and solemnly, ”But the following month, the main brain decided my dad didn’t create enough value and issued a warning. My dad put in a lot of overtime. Yet, come the month’s end, it still wasn’t enough, and my dad received an electric shock punishment. I’ll never forget the pained, twisted expression on my dad’s face during it. My dad worked even harder, even taking up a part-time job. We thought this would make him eligible. But by the third month’s settlement, the main brain deemed my dad’s value insufficient, and two men in black came to take him away.”
