I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse

Chapter 1905: Let the Fun Begin!

Hye turned and strode toward the hangar exit. He didnʼt just want to win; he wanted to overwhelm.

Since he had begun conquering the various Hot Zones, he had grown accustomed to holding back. He had reached a point where he no longer needed to deploy his entire military might to achieve victory.

The initial shock and awe he had established across the stars usually did the work for him, allowing him to save his primary forces while he transitioned from one zone to the next.

But today was different. To crush the Toranks—and to sear an image of absolute, terrifying power into the hearts of the new races that had recently joined his banner—he decided to hold nothing back. He would empty his reserves if he had to.

Stepping out into the vacuum-sealed staging area, Hye began to summon his assets. Thousands of ships materialised from his storage, one after another, filling the emptiness around the flagship until the stars themselves were blotted out by hull plating and engine glow.

He didnʼt stop there. He began filling the vessels with every warrior at his disposal. When his supply of Soulers and Reapers began to run thin, he didnʼt hesitate. He pulled from the auxiliary races, the seasoned veterans of a dozen worlds, packing every deck and corridor with soldiers hungry for glory.

By the time the hour was up, a grand fleet sat poised in the silence of space. It was a gargantuan armada, at least triple the size of the initial fleets he had used during the early days of the Hot Zone campaigns. It was a wall of steel and energy, a testament to how far he had come.

”You really do know how to put on a good show,” Olana remarked as he returned to the bridge. She looked out at the massive fleet, finally seeing through his theatrical intentions. ”Are you ready now, or do you have more tricks up your sleeve?”

”Why do you give me the feeling that you are more excited about this war than I am?” Hye teased, rolling his eyes as he took his place. He sat heavily in the massive command seat positioned in the centre of the main deck, his fingers drumming against the armrest.

”Letʼs go. Letʼs show those Toranks the catastrophic mistake they committed by declaring war against me.”

”Right away, my mighty lord,” Lucas said, bowing with deep, practised respect. He turned with military precision to relay the orders to the navigation officers, steering the massive flagship toward the primary portal Hye had designated.

Hye sighed at the title. He had long since grown used to Lucasʼs formal address. It wasnʼt that he particularly enjoyed being called ʼMighty Lordʼ—in fact, he found it a bit much—but he had tried to correct Lucasʼs attitude multiple times and failed miserably.

The man was stubbornly loyal and insisted on the formality. Hye had simply resigned himself to his fate, secretly hoping that Lucasʼs obsession with titles wouldnʼt infect the rest of the high-ranking warriors.

The flagship lurched forward, its massive frame sliding through the shimmering veil of the portal. One by one, the thousands of ships in his armada followed, a river of fire and metal pouring through the gateway. In less than twenty minutes, the entire force had transitioned to the target coordinates.

Hye stood up from his seat and adjusted his collar. He looked at the small, metallic floating orb that drifted toward him—the broadcast drone. A red light blinked to life on its surface.

”Hi everyone,” Hye began, his voice calm, carrying a hint of a dry, confident smile. ”I know it has been a very long time since I last showed up on your screens. But yes, this is me—the human, Hye. And today, Iʼm going to show you one hell of a scene. I suggest you donʼt look away.”

He gestured broadly toward the viewscreen, where the distant silhouettes of the Torank fleet were just beginning to appear on the long-range sensors.

”Right now, my old friends, the Toranks, have decided to declare war against me. They claim they have their reasons, but honestly, I have zero clue what theyʼre talking about. Their grievances are their own.”

Hye said, his voice hardening as he looked directly into the camera. ”But let it be known: if anyone wants to clash with me, then I, the human emperor Hye, will gladly comply. Welcome to the end of the Toranks era.”

Hye had been preparing for this visual onslaught long before the first portal opened. He had distributed thousands of specialised broadcast orbs to his commanders, with strict orders to magnetically tether them to the outer hulls of their vessels.

Tens of thousands of these golden, hovering eyes now swarmed around his grand fleet like a cloud of mechanical insects, ready to capture every explosion and every death in high definition.

The armada was a sight of terrifying beauty—twelve independent, massive fleets consolidated into a single, colossal gathering of steel. It was a metal continent drifting through the void. The moment he concluded his opening speech, Hye transitioned from a commander into a director.

In the command centre, a semi-circle of floating holographic screens flickered into existence around him, each displaying a different angle of the impending carnage. To start the broadcast, he chose a wide-angle sweep.

He authorised a high-speed scout ship to burn its engines, streaking across the flank of his formation. The camera followed, capturing the endless rows of battleships, the shimmering shields, and the sheer, overwhelming scale of his unified force.

Then, with a flick of his wrist, he switched the feed to the enemy. The Toranks were not lacking in numbers; their ships blotted out the stars in their own right.

However, their formation was different—fractured. They were scattered across the sector in various battle groups, lacking the singular, monolithic unity of Hyeʼs grand fleet.

”And now,” Hyeʼs voice echoed through the universal channel, dropping into a low, predatory tone, ”let the fun begin!”
