Medical Sage

Chengyang County, Five Peaks Mountain. This is another leisure and vacation spot in Chengyang County besides Emerald Lake, a great place to enjoy rural life. But recently, the area has been forcibly shut down without any explanation.

All farmhouses, restaurants, and even the small factories at the foot of Five Peaks Mountain had to close, staying indoors and waiting for further notice.

Initially, the villagers didn’t understand why and were quite upset. They were angry with the government for forcing them to close and cut off their businesses and livelihoods.

But later, when one by one their familiar neighbors and friends died inexplicably, they finally understood why, and they got scared…

So, it turns out this Five Peaks Mountain harbors a murderous evil ghost!?

Ooooh~

That day, and it was at midnight, the foot of Five Peaks Mountain was flickering with the lights of police cars, as they roared to the site. Both entrances to the mountain were taped off! Everyone had a serious, grave, and even slightly fearful look on their faces.

Because at this moment, right in front of them inside this farmhouse courtyard, lay four or five bodies of all ages, scattered all around. As the mountain wind blew, the branches rustled, and when the moonlight spilled on the ground, the bone-white scenery of the courtyard, splattered occasionally with blood that had been drained dry, was a hair-raising scene.

That icy, heart-pounding, and fear-inducing feeling really made their hair stand on end.

”Chief, it’s the same as those victims from a few days ago, completely drained of all their blood. What… what should we do?”

The captain of the criminal investigation team of Chengyang County reported to a middle-aged man in his forties, dressed in a police uniform.

Speaking to the end, even a veteran like him, who roams the front lines all year round, couldn’t help but have his voice tremble.

The whole atmosphere exuded a kind of timid chill from inside out.

To be honest, he has been handling cases at this grassroots level for over ten or twenty years, but scenes as frightening and exaggerated as tonight, he really has never seen before.

This, damn it, they are policemen, not ghost hunters… Other than legendary demons, who could do such terrifying and horrifying things?

The chief of the Chengyang County Public Security Bureau said nothing upon hearing this, merely took out a cigarette and smoked silently… He even offered one to the reporting criminal investigation team captain.

”Ch-Chief…” The criminal investigation team captain took the cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag.

Seeing his face full of bitter smiles, he said, ”Director, we’ve seen it all recently… That thing, seems like the zombies they talk about in movies and novels?”

”Probably.” The director shook his head slightly with a twitching face, then sighed, ”However, we’ve gained some insights, but unfortunately these innocent people, alas…”

The criminal investigation team captain’s face darkened at these words, taking a fierce drag of the cigarette, angrily saying, ”I heard Secretary Liao went to the province to get help, someone who supposedly has martial arts skills. They must surely avenge these innocent people!”

Just then, a police officer led Liao Hua and others over.

”Director, Secretary Liao is here.”

”Secretary Liao, you came.” Chengyang County Public Security Bureau director quickly went to greet him.

”What’s the situation? Is it it?” Liao Hua arrived in a hurry, unable to care about much else.

”Yes, it should be… Ugh, see for yourself.” The police chief stepped aside, and Liao Hua immediately saw the scene in the courtyard.

Instantly, anger surfaced on Liao Hua’s face.

”This damned beast!” he couldn’t help but curse angrily.

This was another four or five vibrant lives gone, and there were so many children involved.

In rural areas, most young and hale folks go out for work. So other than the elderly, there are mostly children.

”Guard the scene well, I’ll make a call.” He then took out his phone with a serious expression.

”Yes!”

…

Soon, Chen Fei received a call from Liao Hua first.

At that time, he happened to be helping Lin Ling wash dishes.

”Honey, your call.” Pei Wanning brought the phone into the kitchen.

”Hmm?” Noticing the caller ID as Liao Hua, Chen Fei slightly paused, reaching for the phone while saying to his mom Lin Ling, ”Mom, I’m going to take a call.”

”Hmm? Go ahead.” Sensing something peculiar about Chen Fei, Lin Ling paused momentarily, setting down chopsticks, saying, ”Be careful.”

This response left Chen Fei momentarily at a loss as well, then he chuckled and said, ”Mom, don’t worry, there’s no one on this Earth who can harm me… Well, except for you, Empress Dowager!”

”You, stop talking nonsense, doing this on purpose?” Lin Ling’s face flushed slightly as she rolled her eyes.

Empress Dowager, does she look that old?

”Hello, Secretary Liao?” On the other side, Chen Fei reached the living room and picked up the call.

”Mr. Chen, sorry for bothering you so late, but… do you have time to come to Five Peaks Mountain now?”

On the phone, Liao Hua’s voice came apologetically, yet somewhat urgently.

”Five Peaks Mountain?” Hearing the name, Chen Fei couldn’t help but pause. Five Peaks Mountain, isn’t that where his master Ming Daochuan lived? He even planned to visit tomorrow, and now, trouble arises tonight?

”Yes, in Five Peaks Mountain. That matter I told you about this afternoon, the monster came out again… This time at the foot of Five Peaks Mountain, at a local family’s house, with four or five dead from top to bottom, blood all drained, including children, alas!”

Children?

A faint cold light emerged in Chen Fei’s eyes.

”Give me ten minutes, I’ll be right there.” He slowly replied.

”Alright, Mr. Chen, call me when you arrive here. The incident area has been cordoned off now, no one can pass… Once you’re here, I’ll come over immediately to meet you.” Liao Hua was overjoyed, nodding quickly.

”Okay.” Chen Fei responded, hanging up the phone.

”Son, what’s going on?” Lin Ling came out of the kitchen after washing dishes, seeing this scene and asked curiously.

”Seems a Hairless Ghoul appeared at Five Peaks Mountain, not only causing trouble but also killed quite a few people. Apparently, another innocent family suffered today, the whole household, young and old, had their blood sucked dry.” Chen Fei said angrily.

”What!?” Lin Ling was shocked, then couldn’t help but slowly display a look of anger, saying, ”This is too vicious, isn’t it? Are they asking you for help? Do you have a way to deal with that nasty thing? Such disregard for life is simply too atrocious.”

”Hairless Ghoul? Is it powerful, Green Wing Demon Ghoul, or Purple Copper Corpse Zombie? Should I go with you?”

Pei Wanning couldn’t help but ask.

”Not that exaggerated… If it really were those you mentioned, we wouldn’t even have Chengyang County. I guess it’s probably the most basic kind of ordinary zombie? I’ll go check it out; do you want to come along?” Chen Fei couldn’t help but sweat profusely.

Whether it’s Green Wing Demon Ghoul or Purple Copper Corpse Zombie, they are legendary figures below the Fifth Heavenly Layer of Foundation Establishment True Person Realm, truly if it were them, not just this small Chengyang County, possibly the entire Huaxia would be doomed.

However, how could such things exist on Earth? Isn’t it a joke? It’s simply impossible.

”Ah, the most basic ordinary zombie? Then never mind, you go, I’ll stay home with mom.” Pei Wanning quickly changed her mind upon hearing this, blinking her eyes.

”You.” Chen Fei playfully ruffled her forehead and then turned to Lin Ling, saying, ”Mom, I’m heading out now.”

”Go on. Remember, since that thing is so malicious, make sure to eliminate it and protect the people, got it?” Lin Ling said.

”Yes! Mission guaranteed.” Chen Fei straightened his back before calmly heading out the door.

Although he appeared cheerful in front of his family, in reality, he wasn’t in a great mood. Because generally, newly awakened Hairless Ghouls won’t murder with a plan… unless someone is controlling it from behind the scenes!

”Running wild on my turf, Chen Fei’s turf? So be it, let me see what kind of evil spirits they are.”

Chen Fei’s eyes, as dark as obsidian and as clear as glass, showed a faint indifference. His body rose straight into the sky, flying towards the direction of Five Peaks Mountain.

Very soon, he arrived at the foot of Five Peaks Mountain.

And saw the police car lights particularly noticeable in the dark…

Chen Fei walked that way, dialing Liao Hua’s number.

”Secretary Liao, it’s me, Chen Fei… Yeah, I’ve arrived, please come out to meet me.”
