MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1831: A Rundown on Ether Gathering

Ether Gathering Techniques.

These techniques were accepted by many as the first building block that allowed a Sage to wield the powerful strength that they currently do.

Though, if one were to be more specific, the Basic Ether Gathering Technique was what many accepted as the first building block.

That’s because with enough time and experience on the path of a Sage, it would be more surprising for someone to continue sticking with the technique instead of optimizing the technique’s ether gathering capabilities.

After all, the technique was so basic that even a Second-tier Sage-to-be could find faults in it that they could fix.

But of course, just like how there were many realms before one became a Grand Sage, there were also limits to how much a Sage could optimize the Basic Ether Gathering Technique before they could no longer optimize any further.

And thus, the grading system for Ether Gathering Techniques was born.

Spanning a total of seven Classes, the grading system was proposed and then made official by the Grand Sage after seeing how varied the effectiveness of Ether Gathering Techniques were.

There were some that contained multiple instructions, yet only gave a slight boost in efficacy to gathering ether.

Then, there were those that were straight to the point like the Basic Ether Gathering Technique, yet pulled at least twice or thrice as much as the latter in the same amount of time.

Wanting to steer the Thymesion Civilization to a new era, the Grand Sage categorized these various Ether Gathering Techniques according to the boost in efficacy they offered.

Naturally, the reference these techniques had for comparison was none other than the Basic Ether Gathering Technique, which was also the only Ether Gathering Technique that the Grand Sage had placed in Class F.

Because of this, some joked that the F in Class F stood for failure, while others said that the F in Class F stood for first.

In the end, after hearing much hubbub about his decision, the Grand Sage had clarified what the F in Class F meant.

Foundation.

Moving on from Class F, the Ether Gathering Techniques then proceeded through Class E, Class D, Class C, Class B, Class A, and ended at Class S.

Unlike the Class where the Basic Ether Gathering Technique was categorized, these six other Classes were given five more classifications by the Grand Sage in order to further specify how effective these techniques were.

These classifications were low-grade, middle-grade, high-grade, peak-grade, and pseudo.

Of course, adding subcategories to what many considered to be a new system of classification had confused many people, including those that had already reached the Upper Boundary.

Fortunately, the Grand Sage had convened a grand meeting for this specific reason on a fateful day, enlightening everyone on how these subcategories worked.

”With the Basic Ether Gathering Technique as our baseline, Class E Ether Gathering Techniques boost the efficacy of gathering ether by between 10 to 30%.”

”To be more specific, Low-grade Class E techniques boost it by 10%, Middle-grade ones boost it by 15%, High-grade ones boost it by 20%, Peak by 25%, and Pseudo-Class D techniques boost it by 30%.”

”Does everyone understand?”

After a bit of back and forth between the Grand Sage and the audience, everyone finally began to understand how the new system of classifying Ether Gathering Techniques worked, finally realizing how effective they were.

Seeing the looks of realization that appeared on the people’s faces after his explanation, a faint smile appeared on the Grand Sage’s face as he continued where he left off.

”I won’t go too in-depth into the other Classes I’ve proposed, but I’ll give everyone a figure for each Class’ range.”

”For Class D Ether Gathering Techniques, the lowest boost to efficacy is 40%, while the highest boost is around 80%.”

”As for Class C techniques, the lowest boost is 100%, while the highest boost is around 180%.”

”This pattern ends at Class B Ether Gathering Techniques, where the lowest boost to efficacy is 200%, which is already triple the Basic Ether Gathering Technique’s rate, and the highest boost is 280%.”

”Now, you might be wondering.” Letting his words sink into the minds of the masses, the Grand Sage paused for a bit. ”Why is that?”

”That’s because for Class A Ether Gathering Techniques, the range actually spans a 200% boost in efficacy, which is double the range for the Classes that come before it.”

”With that said, the lowest boost a Class A technique could give is 300%, while the highest is 500%, which is equal to six times the Basic Ether Gathering Technique’s rate.”

”And if one were to come across a technique that boosts your ether gathering rate by 600%...”

”Well, that right there is none other than a bona fide Low-grade Class S Ether Gathering Technique. The strongest Ether Gathering Technique that our civilization has currently devised.”

”However, if we put our hearts and minds together, I’m certain that it won’t be long until we reach what I consider the perfect Ether Gathering Technique.”

”A technique that boosts one’s ether gathering rate by 900%. A full 10 times compared to the Basic Ether Gathering Technique.”

”If there ever comes a day where a technique like that exists...”

”Then we shall all witness the birth of the first ever... Peak-grade Class S Ether Gathering Technique.”

After the Grand Sage left the audience with their minds clear and goals raised further thanks to his words, it was no surprise that the entire Thymesion Civilization went into a frenzy of sorts as they pursued to achieve greater efficacy with their Ether Gathering Techniques.

Because of this, a great number of Ether Gathering Techniques were created in the next few centuries.

Around 20% of these techniques hovered around Class E to Class D, giving those with lesser fortune a greater opportunity to carve out a path for themselves.

On the other hand, around half were techniques that spanned between Class C and Class B, giving those that made the remaining 30% enough inspiration to push their Ether Gathering Techniques even further.

And so, after an entire millennium since the Grand Sage proposed the new classification system for Ether Gathering Techniques, the first Peak-grade Class S Ether Gathering Technique was born.

Unsurprisingly, the creator of this technique was given a great number of accolades by the Grand Sage, talking about how their technique would push the path of Sages to greater heights.

But to Veradine, who had already optimized the Basic Ether Gathering Technique to the level of a High-grade Class C Ether Gathering Technique...

Reaching the level of a Peak-grade Class S technique, and perhaps the level that went beyond that...

...Was merely just a matter of time.
