MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1372: Getting the Hang of It

”…Damn.”

Sitting on the ground in front of the world raidʼs entrance, Valyr eventually let out a low sigh after processing everything that happened just moments earlier.

”Before we could even form a proper defense against its attacks, the wyvern hit us with a tail sweep without hesitation,” murmured the young man to himself, looking at the other members that had looks of shock and disbelief on their faces.

Getting the feeling that the red wyvernʼs attack might have been a bit too much for some members, Valyr asked everyone if they werenʼt too badly affected by what happened just now.

Receiving a multitude of nods from everyone in response, he then told everyone that it was fine for them to head back to the guild if the fight just now was a bit too much for them.

Surprisingly, he got quite a bit of backlash from that.

”What are you saying, guild leader? We just werenʼt ready to receive that fuckerʼs attack all of a sudden!”

”With enough buffs and enough defense skills stacked on each other, Iʼm sure we can block the first attack!”

”Isnʼt that the reason why you split us into specific roles, guild leader? Wouldnʼt it be ironic if we disbanded only after experiencing our first massive fight?”

”…Well, youʼre not wrong.” Feeling his heart warm up at their words, Valyr faintly chuckled in amusement as he stood up and looked at the guild members that followed him this far.

”Not gonna lie, even I wasnʼt expecting the red wyvern to attack us all of a sudden,” said the young man, to which almost everyone nodded in agreement.

”However, even though Iʼm sure everyone here is eager to prove themselves now that we know what will happen, the fact still stands that we failed to complete the task.”

”Because of that, weʼll be unable to enter the raid for an hour,” he continued, his expression solemn. ”Plus, even without the penalty, we still wouldnʼt be able to get in since we donʼt have a key of our own.”

”Thankfully, the guild leader that invited us still has two keys, which means two more attempts for us to make things right and clear the world raid once and for all.”

”For those who got rewards for volunteering in the other tasks, Iʼd suggest making use of it now to boost our chances on the next attempt.” At this point, Valyr had opened up the chat containing the other guild leaders.

”As for the ones who havenʼt gotten any rewards yet, try to create a plan of action for our rematch against the red wyvern if you can.”

”The goal is to fuck it up as much as possible with our abilities.”

”Donʼt worry, guild leader.” Hearing those words, many of the people in the group began to grin.

”Fucking shit up is our specialty.”

Letting out a bit of laughter in response to their words, Valyr finally shifted his attention to the screen he brought up, sending the other guild leaders a message that they failed to reach the end of their path.

Naturally, the other guild leaders asked for more information as to why that was the case, with one of them inwardly gloating at the young manʼs demise.

However, when that person found out what Valyr and his group were up against just after getting past their pathʼs midpoint, even the man became silent, wondering what they could do to make sure everyone got to the end.

Because of what Valyr told them, the other guild leaders decided to proceed through their paths as far as possible, hoping that theyʼd be able to obtain a clue to have Valyrʼs group be able to fight against the red wyvern.

After all, they wouldnʼt put a red wyvern of that level inside a Rank 2-level world raid for no reason, right?

With that, the guild leaders updated Valyr on their progress through their paths from time to time, taking note of the unique things they encountered along their way to the final area.

Thankfully, by the time the two guilds taking the left paths had reached the final area, they were finally able to obtain a solution to have Valyrʼs guild also reach the end part.

”So, itʼs just a matter of what order the guilds finish, huh?”

Reading that the two guilds got a notification discussing a reduction in difficulty the moment they reached the end of their path, a faint smile appeared on the young manʼs face as he nodded in understanding.

Waiting for further news from the other guild leaders regarding the world raid, Valyr instead received the four guilds outside the entrance around 10 minutes later, most of them having similar expressions to what he and his members had the moment they died without doing anything.

”Let me guess…” Looking at their expressions, the young man already had an idea of what they experienced. ”Tail sweep?”

”…Tail sweep,” responded Malutar after some time, nodding in agreement with his words.

Talking about what they went through along their own paths for the first time, the five guild leaders tried to come up with a plan that increased their chances of clearing the raid.

Adding on the various speculations and hypotheses they had over the world raidʼs mechanics after that, the five guilds decided to give it another try after waiting for the penalty to disappear.

With the experience theyʼve accrued through the first attempt, the five guilds soon entered the world raid for the second time, confident that theyʼd be able to get farther than they did at a shorter time.

Taking into consideration the fact that everyone else needed to finish their paths first before Valyr could fully tackle his, everything more or less went well for the five guilds.

However, that all changed when Valyr and his group went up against the red wyvern for a second time, its strength considerably weaker than before.

Although they were able to mount a proper defense, the group still couldnʼt withstand the next attacks the red wyvern threw at them, forcing his group to be booted out at the same spot they lost the first time.

Not wanting to waste their second attempt, the four went ahead and proceeded onto the final area, only for them to come face to face with the same red wyvern.

Only this time, it had twice the stats as the one Valyrʼs group fought the first time.

Without much suspense, all 200 people making up the five guilds were booted out of the world raid once more with a tail sweep, forcing everyone to reevaluate their plans as they aimed to clear the world raid once and for all.

Eventually, their third and final attempt began.
