MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1326: Officially Becoming a Mage (4)

”He asked for it himself?” asked Rinea for clarification, making sure that she hadnʼt heard it wrongly. ”This is the first time thatʼs happened, right?”

”Well, itʼs happened a few times already, actually,” replied the man with a slightly wry smile. ”After all, itʼs not like the option I give people to hide their information during registration is some sort of hard-to-find secret.”

”However, thereʼs something different about that one,” continued the man, prompting the old woman to perk up her ears as she intently listened to the next words he had to say.

”Think about it for a bit. The guyʼs a Player thatʼs incredibly talented in the field of magic.”

”Uh huh.” Rinea nodded in agreement. ”The spell he cast is definitely not something an average Rank 1 mage would be able to cast.”

”Thatʼs because of a few reasons,” answered the man, showing a small portion of Valyrʼs information for her. ”For one, he has a Mythic grade class.”

”But of course, I canʼt show you what class it exactly is because he availed the service.”

”Then that makes the might of the spell understandable,” said the old woman, faintly nodding as she thought more about it. ”But why am I getting the feeling that thereʼs still more to the spell he showed me?”

”Itʼs his stats,” replied the man, directing her to the mostly blurred portion of the young manʼs stats. ”All of it is in the triple digits.”

”Low triple digits, or high triple digits?”

”All I can say is that theyʼre above 200 at the very least.”

”Wait... so, he has the stats of an average peak Rank 3 class holder, then?” Rinea sucked in a breath of cold air at the realization, her eyes wide as she continued to look at the man before that in disbelief.

”Pretty much.” The man nodded. ”Now, with all of those things in mind, donʼt you think itʼs quite suspicious that he only decided to register just now?”

”Whatʼs so suspicious about tha-” the old woman replied, only to catch herself as the gears in her mind began to turn.

”You think it has something to do with the tournament, Director?”

”That just might be the case.” The man nodded. ”Iʼve confirmed that he has no connection to the nobility since one of our attendants decided to send a message to the nobility about him.”

”A spy?” Rinea gritted her teeth in slight anger. ”How much information was she able to obtain on him?”

”Depends on what skills she has.” The man slightly shrugged. ”But if thereʼs one thingʼs for sure, then itʼs the fact that the nobility will have their representatives ready the moment he finishes his registration.”

”Are we going to make our move, then?” asked Rinea, beginning to feel a bit impatient over the situation. ”After all, weʼve yet to find the guildʼs core representative for the tournament.”

”Wait for just a bit longer.” The man gave her a look of reassurance. ”It still wouldnʼt be too late to make a move after he goes through the final test.”

”Speaking of which, what grade of potential does he have?”

”Well...” Scratching her cheek at those words, the old woman hesitated for a bit before eventually deciding to spill the beans.

”Iʼm not too sure on the other parts, but even if we only take into consideration the parts Iʼve been able to quantify...”

”Then heʼs above Omega-grade, Director.”

...

Creak...

Closing the door behind him with a bit of apprehension, Valyr was surprised to see that the room where the final test would be taken was similar to the first room he entered.

Briefly wondering to himself whether or not he just circled back to the previous room, the young manʼs train of thought was quickly interrupted as a man in his thirties appeared in front of him.

”Youʼve availed the old manʼs services?” asked the man with a calm smile as he fixed his glasses.

Valyr nodded in response.

”Got it.” The man nodded back before sending out a few strands of mana into the air. Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Curious as to why the man sent out all of those mana strands all of a sudden, Valyr soon got his answer as a large crystal was soon placed at a spot exactly between the two of them, prompting him to move a bit to the side to ask the man what was going on.

Though, before he could even ask the question he had in mind, the man answered as if he already knew what he was going to ask.

”This is the final test,” explained the man as he recalled the strands he sent out. ”To be more specific, itʼs a test where various parts of your mana are tested.”

”The Mage Guild decided to have this test be part of the registration process because not all people aspire to become combat mages.”

”In fact, non-combat mages are actually more common here in the city.”

”Because of that, the guild had devise another method to test whether or not a person is eligible to enter the guild without relying on combat, which is why you see this test before you.”

”What are you testing with the crystal, exactly?” asked Valyr in return as the manʼs explanation made him curious.

”The most important ones would be your mana capacity and your control over said mana,” replied the man, continuing to calmly smile. ”However, we can also check your mana regeneration rate, the speed at which it circulates throughout your body, and so on.”

”Of course, as youʼve availed the old manʼs services, all of this information shall be kept private, save for me, you, and the Director of the Mage Guild.”

”I see.” Now understanding the reason behind the manʼs first question, Valyr went ahead and asked him what he needed to do in order for the test to start.

Hearing that the only thing he needed to do was just keep constant contact with the surface of the crystal, the young man went ahead and did just that, placing both hands on its surface as

he took in a deep breath.

Whoosh!

In just a matter of seconds, the crystal quickly came to life, showing both Valyr and the young man a maelstrom of vibrant colors that seemed attuned to certain elements. Feeling the mana in his body begin to resonate with some of these colors, the young man allowed the crystal to do its thing as the crystal and his body soon began to exchange mana back and forth, causing most of the colors in the crystal to disappear.

By the time over 10 minutes had passed, only a couple of colors remained in the crystal.

Getting the feeling that the colors in the crystal wouldnʼt change even after a few more minutes pass, Valyr looked at the man to ask what the colors in the crystal possibly meant.

However, before the man could even respond to the question, a pair of individuals suddenly barged into the room.
