MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1017: Taking the Next Step

Once he was done reading through the notifications involving his spear, Valyr retrieved Sana from his back, getting a better look of how much his spear had transformed after absorbing the blood of the Greater Tidemother.

Though he knew that his spear had taken on a deeper crimson color due to the influence of the Greater Tidemotherʼs blood, Valyr did not take note of the other changes that occurred to the spear because of it.

For one, the spear tip seemed to have gotten longer and sharper than before, sporting a geometric look to it that made it look more like a precious ruby than an actual spear tip.

Then, supporting this spear tip were multiple crimson tendrils that looked similar to the Greater Tidemotherʼs legs, tightly gripping onto the base of the tip as it connected it to the shaft.

Swinging around to see how sturdy the connection between the spear tip and the shaft were, Valyr slightly nodded in agreement as he noticed that the same tendrils holding the spear tip also extended to connect to the spear shaft.

In a way, the transformation his spear underwent made it look as if it were a massive spider lily.

A deadly one at that. ”[Superior Analysis].” Watching the spear glisten gold under the rays of the sun piercing through the roomʼs window, Valyr had a bit of expectation as the spearʼs description appeared before him, only for all of them to be surpassed in an instant.

Though brought to greater heights thanks to the nefarious energy imbued in it by the Alltide, the same being eventually removed that nefarious energy, giving the potential that had been unearthed by the action to fully blossom.

In a way, it has gained the recognition of the Alltide, with the being considering it a weapon that has finally begun to fully embody the strength of a true Tidemother.

Remarks: Now free from its shackles, this weapon has the strength and ability to capture the attention of many beings. It now has the potential to reach levels of strength normally considered unlikely.

Going through the changes brought about by the transformation, the first thing Valyr noticed was the massive increase in the spearʼs Attack stat, which was boosted by roughly 50%.

Of course, if he were to compare it to something like the Azure Serpent Staff under Selliferʼs hands, then even the spearʼs updated strength seemed to be lacking.

Nevertheless, Valyr was certain that heʼd be able to have his spear match that strength sooner or later, considering that there were still more Tidemother variants he could have his spear absorb.

Then again, even though Valyr was glad to see the spear becoming stronger, what truly caught his attention were the skills the spear had unlocked after the transformation.

Unsurprisingly, with the curse on the spear being removed by the Alltide, the spear did not periodically siphon his strength anymore, allowing Valyr to finally use the spear just like he used to in the past.

However, those thoughts somewhat shifted after reading through the descriptions of the three skills the spear now had, with the final one piquing his interest. ”A summoning skill...” muttered Valyr to himself after reading through the spearʼs two passive skills. ”Well, if I think about it, itʼd be better to call it a transformation skill than a summoning skill.”

As the thought came to mind, Valyr thought about the True Gale Wolf Armor heʼd given to Myst, specifically the skill it had to summon a Gale Wolf that inherited Mystʼs stats.

In terms of mechanics, [Tidemotherʼs Descent] worked similarly in that matter, where the Tidemother the skill created would inherit a portion of Valyrʼs stats.

However, unlike the skill attached to the True Gale Wolf Armor, [Tidemotherʼs Descent] would fully transform the spear into a Tidemother.

Curious as to how that would work, Valyr decided to save the question for after he ascended to Rank 4, closing his screen as he asked Sana with a faint smile. ”How are you feeling?” ʼBetter than ever, Master,ʼ replied Sana, her aura that of jubilation as it spoke in Valyrʼs mind. ʼWith the curse now gone, Iʼm finally able to help you again!ʼ ”Iʼll be relying on you in the future,” said Valyr in response, chuckling as he affixed the spear onto his back once more.

Returning his attention to the notification screen he brought up earlier, Valyr went ahead and removed all of the notifications heʼd already gone through, mostly the ones involving Alfaeraʼs quest and Sanaʼs transformation.

With that, he finally looked through the notifications heʼd gotten from the Alltide in detail, prompting a faint smile to appear on his face as he brought up the description of the titles heʼd gained during that time.

Ding! [Glancing at the Edge of Divinity] (Title)

Rarity: Mythic

Most of the description has been omitted.

With your energies embodying a portion of the strength of the Divine, it could be said that greater paths shall open up for you in the future.

Effects: > 25% boost to the maximum amount of mana, Void Energy, and Prime Azure Energy one can hold > 25% increased efficacy in controlling mana, Void Energy, and Prime Azure Energy > Greater potential [True Defier of Fate] (Title)

Rarity: Mythic

Most of the description has been omitted.

Those whoʼve reached the pinnacle of strength are all considered True Defiers of Fate due to their act of going against natural order.

And now, youʼve become one of those beings as well.

Effects: > 15% boost to all stats > 15% boost to the userʼs maximum HP and MP > 15% boost to the userʼs Attack and Defense stat > Greater challenges > Greater potential

Naturally, with how wide of a gap there was between him and the Alltide, it went without saying that the system viewed his actions quite favorably.

Though all he really did was resist against the Alltideʼs energy as it tried to form into a mark on his back, that action was more than enough to garner the systemʼs attention, even going so far as to give Valyr a title that was better than [Myth-transcending Mortal].

Then again, Valyrʼs curiosity was piqued when he noticed that both titles had effects that were more vague than usual, eventually prompting him to interpret ʼGreater potentialʼ as something that would be beneficial to him in the long term.

On the other hand, the ʼGreater challengesʼ effect on [True Defier of Fate] caused the young man to frown. ”I have a feeling I already know what greater challenges Iʼll be facing.” Taking in a deep breath to compose himself, Valyr went ahead and brought up the description of his species, immediately confirming his suspicions once he read through it.

Ding! [Reforged High Human | True Defier of Fate (3rd Unsealing)] (Species)

Most of the description has been omitted.

As a being classified by the system as a True Defier of Fate, you have been recognized to show great strength and potential that subverts expectations. With enough time, you might find yourself standing at the pinnacle of power. ”Damn.” Clicking his tongue the moment he was done reading, Valyr let out a long exhale as he thought about the updated tribulations would affect how he fought in the future. Though it was more annoying to have rather than it being something that actually hampered his progress, Valyr still felt a bit of anger over the whole thing, considering how he hadnʼt really done anything to truly irk the system.

In the end, the young man went silent after that, going over the various thoughts in his mind as he closed all of the screens heʼd brought up.

Then, laying down on his bed, he took in a calming breath before beginning his ascension process.

Ding! [100,355,680 XP has been allocated.] [You are now Level 56.]
