MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 714  Four Pillars: One-sided Massacre

Bang!

ʼ-165,905!!!ʼ

Even though Valyr knew that the trial would become relatively simple once he made use of his arquebus, he did not expect it to become this simple.

Bang!

ʼ-165,905!!!ʼ

With the enraged primitive humanoids circling his large tower, striking against it with all of the might they could muster, the young man kept on preparing his arquebus for firing.

Then, sacrificing a great chunk of his mana pool in the process, he would then fire out a shot that effectively decimated the target he had chosen.

Bang!

ʼ-165,905!!!ʼ

ʼI definitely wouldnʼt have this easy of a time if I had to use the arquebus at ground level,ʼ thought Valyr to himself, keeping in mind the remaining supply he had left to arm the arquebus.

After all, unlike his other skills that only needed mana to activate, firing the arquebus needed him to go through a lengthy process that involved quite a decent amount of resources.

Then again, having to be mindful of oneʼs resources in exchange for the ability to kill demons in human skin with one hit was definitely a more than worthy trade-off for him.

Bang!

ʼ-331,810!!!!ʼ

”Damn.” Watching his targetʼs entire body explode into chunks of flesh and blood, Valyr let out a whistle as he noticed the pitch black value that began to hover above where its head previously was.

”Definitely an overkill shot at this point, if I do say so myself,” said the young man as he let out a chuckle.

”In any case, at the rate Iʼm killing these guys, it wonʼt be long till I complete the first trial.”

From the moment Valyr had taunted the primitive humanoids towards him to the moment he had gotten a Fatal Hit, the young man had already killed over a third of the primitive humanoids that surrounded the tower.

Of course, it still took quite some time for him to reach this point, having spent the first hour finding the right rhythm that would allow him to kill the primitive humanoids at a consistent pace.

After that, he began to gradually speed up, eventually figuring out the most efficient method around three hours into killing the primitive humanoids.

In total, six hours had passed since Valyr had begun to fight against the primitive humanoids.

But of course, the young man already knew that heʼd be spending far more time killing the primitive humanoids than just a mere six hours.

Bang!

ʼ-165,905!!!ʼ

Keeping his mind occupied with other topics while continuing to busy his hands by killing the primitive humanoids, Valyr consistently went through the thousand primitive humanoids one by one, making them fall to the ground with just one shot.

Then again, there were times where the bullet contained enough momentum to continue moving past the primitive humanoid it hit, allowing it to kill yet another primitive humanoid in the process.

Seeing this, the young man felt a bit of relief as he tried to make it happen a bit more often.

After all, even though the first trial had become trivial thanks to his skill set, the young man still had to be mindful of the fact that his resources he had to load the arquebus was limited.

Nevertheless, he still kept up his current pace, the thoughts in his mind currently focused on ending the first trial as soon as possible.

With that, blood continued to flow throughout the surroundings of the tower of earth, dying the ground a dark crimson red.

Bang!

ʼ-165,905!!!ʼ

Ding!

Just as he had fired out the shot that marked the halfway point to him reaching the end of the first trial, Valyr heard a notification sound resound in his mind, prompting him to stop what he was doing for a bit to take a look.

[In the past, you have given rise to the existence of a new weapon within Veldanyr, firing out the first shot that signaled the start of a new era.]

[Yet, rather than stop there, you continued to use the weapon in combat, making use of its unique properties. With each shot you fired, your knowledge and understanding of the weapon gradually increasing, expanding your usage of the weapon to greater heights.]

[Now, the knowledge and understanding youʼve accumulated has finally crystallized, giving you an innate sense of understanding towards the weapon youʼre using, as well as the terrifying amounts of damage that it could deal.]

[You have gained a basic grasp on how to use a firearm better.]

[You have gained the passive skill ʼBasic Firearm Masteryʼ.]

”Well then.” Finished reading through the series of notifications he had received, a faint smile crept up his face.

”That kind of notification takes me back.”

As these words left his mouth, Valyr recalled the first few days he had appeared in the world of Veldanyr, utilizing the knowledge that had stuck with him from his past life to gain an edge over others.

One of the small tidbits of knowledge he had made use of was the fact that not all skills had to be obtained through skill books, instead using repetition to obtain his first ever skill, [Basic Spear Mastery].

Thinking about he had obtained a similar skill out of nowhere, Valyr wryly smiled as he thought about how fighting against the primitive humanoids had become monotonous thanks to his approach.

In other words, he basically drilled the essence of wielding a firearm through constant repetition.

Just like how he did it with his spear in the past.

Taking a brief look at his newly obtained skill, the young manʼs eyes widened in slight surprise after finding out that the skill went a bit beyond the usual things a mastery skill did.

”A reduction in cooldown time,” Valyr muttered, his eyes glistening as he did not hesitate to use up a small chunk of his XP and Skill Keys to evolve the skill and max it out.

Ding!

[Would you like to use 1 Common Skill Key, 1 Uncommon Skill Key, and 1,134,438 XP to evolve ʼBasic Firearm Masteryʼ to Uncommon grade and upgrade it to its level limit?]

”Yes.”

Whoosh!

At the very instant he confirmed the prompt that popped up, a great surge of information regarding the essence of firearms surged in his mind, causing the young man to briefly feel a hint of nausea.

Then again, with how he had forced his mind to endure through worse situations in the past, it did not take long for the nausea to subside as he looked at his arquebus with a higher level of understanding.

Staring at his firearm with a calm expression, Valyr took in a deep breath before positioning himself by the edge of the tower once more.

”…Alright.”

”Time to continue where I left off.
