Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 988: Chapter 987: Desolate My Ass

”You think people from out of town don’t read maps! Zhongjie is a shopping street! Desolate, my ass!!!”

Zhongjie in Shoucheng, one of the top shopping streets, and Ding Suzhu’s clothing shop is near Zhongjie. Just a few days ago, Gu Tong had been there.

Xia Xi moved the phone back and stomped her foot unhappily, saying, ”You actually know Zhongjie is a shopping street! Clearly, there’s someone else outside, and I’m no longer your sweetheart. You don’t treat me well anymore!”

”...” Never treated you well.

Xia Xi was at the verge of tears, ”Boo-hoo, it’s rare that I came all this way to see you, yet you don’t cherish me anymore. My heart is already shattered to pieces.”

”...” Do you have to be this disgusting...

Crying, making trouble, and threatening suicide — Xia Xi was adept at this; she learned it instinctively, throwing her tantrum uncontrollably.

Gu Tong couldn’t hang up the call, so she could only listen to this girl fussing. She rubbed her temples and said, ”You want me to meet you on Zhongjie?”

After being best friends for so many years, she knew her somewhat well.

If Xia Xi was making such a fuss, she must have had her reasons, venturing at the risk of getting scolded, she wanted Gu Tong to go over.

Xia Xi’s tears were swiftly replaced with a smile, and she said, ”At No. 158 Zhongjie, my newly opened tea house, called Red Mansion.”

”...” Your tea house is called Red Mansion? How ’unique and unconventional,’ sounds quite sensual...

Gu Tong rolled her eyes, not continuing to chat idly, and said, ”Now will you hang up? I’ll pack up and head over.”

”Sure, no problem~” Xia Xi agreed readily.

Xia Xi understood Xue Tong’s temperament well; as long as she agreed, she would definitely fulfill her promise.

So, she wasn’t worried about Xue Tong deceiving her at all.

’Doo-doo-doo—’

The call finally ended.

Gu Tong exhaled a breath of relief.

A hard-earned holiday just went down the drain...

Indeed, she is meant to never rest.

Thinking about this, she pressed her temples twice, resignedly starting to change clothes, getting ready to head out.

...

Around noon, close to twelve o’clock.

The military-green jeep was driving along Zhongjie’s road, finally pulling to a stop in front of No.158, the entrance of Red Mansion Tea House.

Gu Tong pushed open the driver’s door, slammed it shut, venting all her irritations on the car door.

Then, with large strides, she headed toward the tea house, appearing fully intent on settling things with Xia Xi.

Xia Xi, holding a tea bowl, pretended to savor the tea until she heard a ’bang,’ jumping up in surprise.

She glanced towards the doorway a couple of times until she finally saw Gu Tong walking in.

Xia Xi was overjoyed, beaming as she pounced over, saying, ”Dear, I knew you couldn’t bear to be away from me. I missed you so much I could die~”

She pounced, demanding kisses, hugs, and to be lifted high~

Gu Tong sidestepped, dodging Xia Xi disdainfully, speaking plainly, ”Speak up if you need anything, otherwise, hold it until five! I still need to return to the Li Family!”

This sentence served as a reminder, also letting Xia Xi know that her stay wouldn’t be for long.

If there’s a life-threatening task, save it for another time!

”Can do~” Xia Xi clapped her hands, ”Actually, I asked you here just to chat. We’ve got five hours, plenty of time~”

To chat?

Gu Tong’s veins bulged, fists clenching, she felt an urge to hit someone!

Xia Xi swallowed nervously, survival instincts kicking in, saying, ”But...What I need to tell you is very important, extremely important...Let’s go upstairs and talk slowly...”
