I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

The corpses of the Frostfang Wolves were scattered everywhere. Some of their bodies were split in half.

Some had no heads. Some had been slammed into the ice walls so hard that only a pile of flesh and bones remained.

Lian’s breaths had become heavy. His whole body hurt, but his eyes were still fixed on the last enemy on the field.

Only one monster remained.

The pack leader.

A creature that even the other ice wolves kept their distance from. The snow under its massive claws melted and then froze again.

Its bright blue eyes were staring directly at the two. The system notification still floated in front of Lian’s eyes.

[Frostfang Alpha Wolf]

[Level: 15]

[Rank: Normal]

A deep roar came from the monster’s throat. A roar that made the surrounding streets shake.

They were not facing a normal monster like the other wolves. They were facing a real monster!

In fact, the fact that the two of them, especially Lian with his lower level, could defeat level 12 or level 13 wolves was a miracle by itself.

He did not know about Seris, but if he himself did not have his two current talents, Dormant Monster and Winter Child, he probably could not have won against those ten wolves so easily.

Winter Child weakened the attacks of ice monsters, and the Dormant Monster talent reduced the power of all monster attacks by ten percent.

The innate skill Winter Skin also weakened any attack made by frost monsters.

In addition, the Frost Claw skill, which was greatly strengthened by mana and Ice Dominion, had also helped significantly.

Otherwise, how could defeating level 12 and 13 monsters be so easy?

Lian slowly raised the ice claws of Frost Claw. On the other side, Seris drew her new sword from its sheath.

The Frostfang blade shone blue under the dim light of the sky.

A few seconds of silence ruled. They looked at each other. Through their eyes, they understood each other’s intention.

Then both moved at the same time.

BOOM!

The ground under their feet exploded. Lian attacked from the left, and Seris from the front. The alpha wolf roared and jumped forward with unbelievable speed.

The first collision caused the air to explode. Seris’s sword landed on the wolf’s massive claw.

Blue sparks spread in the air.

At the same time, Lian came in from the side and dragged Frost Claw across the monster’s stomach.

A deep scratch was made on its body. Blue blood sprayed on the snow. The wolf howled in pain, but it did not fall.

On the contrary.

Suddenly, all the fur on its body began to shine. The crackling sound of electricity echoed in the air.

Seris’s eyes narrowed.

”Back!”

But it was too late. The monster’s roar reached the sky, and then the lightning exploded.

BOOM!

A column of blue electricity came out of the wolf’s body. Lian only had time to put his hands in front of his face. A second later, he felt like a mountain had hit him.

His body was thrown dozens of meters through the air. The Frostguard Armor cracked, and blood sprayed from his mouth.

BOOM!

His body hit the wall of an ice building. The whole building shook. On the other side of the field, Seris’s situation was not better.

She had put her sword in front of her body, but the wave of electricity still pushed her back several meters.

The snow under her feet was plowed. For a few seconds, no one moved. The alpha wolf was breathing heavily, and many wounds could be seen on its body.

But it was still standing. Lian came out of the rubble. His body was burning.

But a small smile appeared on his face.

”Damn it...”

”It is tougher than I thought.”

Seris also stood up.

Her cold eyes stayed fixed on the monster.

”Its power is not the problem. That lightning skill of its is what causes trouble.”

Lian nodded. In hand-to-hand combat, that monster had no chance. But every time it released the lightning, everything changed.

This is where the difference between monsters that have skills and monsters that do not becomes clear. And this made him understand how dangerous and powerful monsters that have gone through their first evolution are.

The wolf started gathering electricity again. Thousands of blue sparks formed around its body.

But this time, Seris suddenly lowered her sword. Her silver eyes shone.

The air became heavy.

The wind stopped. Even the sound of the blizzard disappeared for a moment.

[King’s Dominion]

[Rank: Great]

[Description: Releases the aura of a king’s dominion. All enemies within range are suppressed, and all their stats are decreased.]

An invisible pressure spread throughout the field. The ground shook. The snow settled. The alpha wolf’s eyes suddenly widened.

For the first time, fear appeared in its gaze. Its roar became weaker. The electricity around its body became unstable.

As if something was squeezing its throat.

Seris took one step forward.

”Kneel.”

BOOM!

All the pressure of the aura landed on the monster’s body. The wolf’s massive legs trembled, and one of its knees hit the ground.

Lian immediately noticed the opportunity. His eyes lit up.

That was it. Just this one moment was needed. He transferred all his mana to Frost Claw and used his new skill for the second time.

[Ice Dominion]

And by controlling the ice element, the ice claws became larger and more powerful.

Ice crystals formed around his hands. Even the ice on the ground was pulled toward him.

The air froze from the cold.

BOOM!

Lian shot forward like a bullet. The distance between them disappeared in an instant. The wolf had just raised its head when the ice claw passed through its throat.

Silence.

Time seemed to stop.

Then, blue blood sprayed into the air. The monster’s massive head was severed. Its five-meter body stayed motionless for a moment.

And then...

BOOM!

The huge carcass fell to the ground. The entire street shook. For a few seconds, no sound was heard. Only the heavy breaths of Lian and Seris remained.

And then the system notifications appeared.

[Frostfang Alpha Level 15 Killed]

[Fragment +2]

[Skill gained]

Lian’s eyes lit up. But before he could read the last notification, a sound echoed throughout the city.

CRAAAAAACK...

The sound of ice breaking. A massive sound. So massive that it seemed like all of Frostheart was cracking.

The smile on Lian’s face disappeared. He and Seris simultaneously turned their heads toward the center of the city.

Where that massive ice giant had been sleeping. The sound of ice breaking was heard again.

CRAAAAAACK...

This time louder, heavier, more terrifying. And then, in the middle of the white blizzard... two blue dots lit up.

Two eyes. Massive eyes. Eyes that were slowly opening.

For the first time, Seris frowned deeply. Lian also involuntarily held his breath.

The thing that had destroyed all of Frostheart was waking up.
