Chapter 2899: Chapter 1118: The Altar and Four Pathways

In Zheng Qing’s imagination.

The control center for ’Primordial’ should look like the cockpit of a robot he saw when he was a child, not necessarily filled with cyberpunk or post-modernist style, but it should have various screens, joysticks, buttons, intricately connected lines and pipes, and some sweet-voiced auxiliary control system.

Unfortunately, reality is ultimately different from imagination.

The control center of Primordial is actually an altar.

Outside the corridor is a huge cave plaza, hundreds of meters in diameter, with the altar situated at its center—the word ’altar’ was not deduced by Zheng Qing but rather spoken by Elder Ruoyu.

Standing at the end of the corridor, Zheng Qing could basically only see an empty plaza in front of him.

Around the plaza, surrounded by cave stone walls, stand Ionic pillars, supporting the dome of the cave plaza. Beneath the pillars is a circle of low altar walls, embedded with high relief murals of white jade, depicting the story of a giant battling with a Firebird, a Giant Dragon, a giant serpent, and numerous strange enemies coming across the galaxies—the architectural structure is very similar to the First Hall of the First University—though when Zheng Qing looked at those relief sculptures, they appeared very quiet, like real stones, the dynamic images still created a strong sense of tension, making one hold their breath involuntarily.

Zheng Qing guessed that the giant figure might be the legendary skeleton used in the creation of ’Primordial’—similar to his ’Taiyi,’ which uses the legendary giant Artu Groot—and the content of the relief might be the legend’s past experiences.

Above the pillars, the dome is filled with starry skies.

But these stars are not dead objects, because just after entering for a few seconds, Zheng Qing’s peripheral vision caught sight of a very inconspicuous meteor streaking across the corner of the dome.

He had reason to believe these stars were related to Primordial’s ’navigation system’ or ’divination system’.

Under the dome, within the altar walls, is a plaza paved with blue stone slabs, with dense runes engraved on every slab. Zheng Qing, being very astute, recognized the familiar strokes on several stone slabs.

His ever so small hand tasks!

Those tedious and obscure etching tasks assigned from the teaching assistants! Those tasks he completed laboriously after evening classes, dragging his weary body! They were actually used here!

Because Elder Ruoyu was right beside him, he couldn’t express extreme excitement, yet he couldn’t help his gaze flying all around, trying to find more traces he might have left on the densely packed stone slabs.

”You completed a total of 261 etching works of rune slabs, among them, ’Primordial’ used 110, ’Taiyi’ used 151... and just now, you saw three of them.”

As if guessing the reason for the boy’s excitement, Elder Ruoyu’s faint voice arose behind him: ”—You can take your time to look at each blue brick when you have more time in the future. But not today. Today’s task by Miss Colma is still quite tedious. You need to carefully observe everything she does on the altar.”

Zheng Qing’s excited emotions gradually cooled, with a touch of embarrassment, he lowered his head and gave the master of ’Primordial’ a sheepish smile.

Still ’as always’ terrifying and hideous.

Colma quickly averted aside from the uncomfortable emotive actions at the edge.

Elder Ruoyu stood at the corridor’s exit and gently breathed: ”—Ahead is the control center of Primordial. Like I said before, I can only send you here. Once you go in...”

He seemed to want to remind the young people of something.

But as words came to his lips, he stopped.

Ultimately, he just waved his hand.

”Go on.”

Standing at the corridor exit, Zheng Qing only felt the plaza in front of him was vast and flat, but as he stepped into the plaza, the starry sky on the dome suddenly spun around, and the blue stone slabs on the ground moved quickly like chess pieces on a chessboard, even at the strength of the edge-type physique, Zheng Qing still felt a moment of dizzying whirl.

When everything around him halted.

He looked around intently, the plaza was still the same plaza, the dome starry sky seemed to have swapped a batch, and the surrounding altar walls and Ionic pillars were exactly the same as he had seen at the end of the corridor.

The only difference was the corridor entrance behind him had disappeared.

At this moment, he stood in front of the altar wall, and on the relief band, the giants all uniformly turned their heads, gazing coldly at him. Startled, he quickly walked forward, trying to distance himself from those peculiar sculptures.

Tap, tap, tap, tap.

The sound of heels tapping on the hard blue stone slab echoed crisply in the empty plaza, seeming extraordinarily abrupt. Zheng Qing followed the sound, only to see Colma already far from him and proceeding directly towards the center of the plaza.

And as his gaze tracked her to the center of the plaza, he was stunned to find a three-tiered blue-glazed round platform appearing there, surrounded by white jade balustrades, with four rows of blue stone stairs cutting through the railing, leading straight to the center of the platform.

A battle dress was floating solitary right in the center of the round platform.

Zheng Qing finally understood why Elder Ruoyu called this center ’the altar’.

”—The path I’m walking now, from west to east, leading straight to the center of the altar, is called ’Heavenly Road.’”

Colma’s voice suddenly rang out in the plaza air, sounded exceptionally loud and clear with the altar walls’ amplification: ”Heavenly Road passes through the altar, the blue stone stairs connected road on the opposite is called ’Divine Road,’ if you continue walking, you can see a small hall with a triple-eave pointed top called ’Bo Fu Temple’ at the end of Divine Road, which is the offering place for the god position of the altar... Bo Fu is the name of the legend used by ’Primordial,’ you should be familiar with this name.”

How much more familiarity!

Zheng Qing subconsciously glanced at the relief band around the altar walls while recalling the image of ’Primordial’ he once saw over Cloud Sea in his mind, trying to associate them with the battle array of the Bo Fu Clan that the Atonement Hunting Team had practiced and used many times.

”—Is the Bo Fu Clan dead?”

”Some are dead, and some are alive. Like the name Montelio, every Bo Fu Clan giant who becomes a legend gets to walk the earth with the designation of ’Bo Fu Clan’.”

While talking, Colma’s steps had already stopped at the end of the ’Heavenly Road’ under the blue stone stairs, she did not immediately step up, but pointed to the left side: ”The road in the north direction is called ’Heart Connection Road,’ it leads directly to the limbs of ’Primordial,’ in case any part gets damaged during the fight, the alchemist can promptly repair... the road in the south direction is ’Tongyuan Road,’ the end of the road is the chamber and warehouse, designated for housing our guards and its spare consumables.”
