High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2681: Chapter 902: Risk Prohibition Contract

When Zheng Qing returned to dorm 403 with the good news that ’the spring hunt will most likely not be canceled,’ both Xiao Xiao and Xin had gotten similar information from their respective channels.

The confirmation from three sides pointed to the missing Horseman Tribe as the trigger for this temporary ban.

”Too bad, this spring hunt doesn’t concern me.”

Zheng Qing shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, placing a box of small cakes into Xin Fat Man’s arms, with a tone mixed with a bit of relief and regret, making him appear very punchable, ”... just like your final exam, it has nothing to do with me.”

Due to early graduation, Zheng Qing’s and Jiang Yu’s course arrangements were different from ordinary sophomore students; he not only didn’t need to participate in midterm or final assessments, but also didn’t need to partake in any school or club collective activities.

In other words, his sole task this semester was to study and then graduate.

The Fat Wizard ignored Zheng Qing’s slightly hypocritical ’unconcerned’ remark—with small cakes in hand he was obviously more interested.

”How fresh! To taste Mr. Zha’s delicious treats... and not just leftovers! The sun has truly risen from the west! You didn’t go to the Teaching Assistant Group office, right? Where did these cakes come from?”

He exclaimed, glancing suspiciously at the box in his hand and then at Zheng Qing, ”Don’t tell me you hooked up with a new girlfriend at the Teaching Assistant Group... Don’t explain, I believe, but you really shouldn’t do this, it’s outrageous!”

The Fat Wizard shook his head earnestly, lamenting the decline of society, full of worry, yet without hesitation, as he quickly picked a small cake from the box and stuffed it into his mouth.

Then he closed his eyes in satisfaction.

”... However, if your new girlfriend is willing to send you a box of cakes every day, I might reconsider my stance,” he added, his principles clearly low, ”Of course, only if it doesn’t affect Su Councilor’s reputation.”

Zheng Qing remained silent, just staring at him.

It was Xiao Xiao who kindly reminded the Fat Wizard, ”If I were you, I definitely wouldn’t casually eat something sent for Mr. Zha... How do you feel? Want to go to the school hospital?”

Xin’s chubby face immediately stiffened.

Gulp.

He ultimately decided to swallow the contents in his mouth and forced a smile, ”Not that exaggerated... maybe it’s something sent by Jiang class leader or Su Councilor?”

”Have you ever seen him share anything sent by Jiang Yu or Su Councilor with us?”

Doctor Xiao sharply broke the Fat Wizard’s fantasy, smacking his lips, ”As for whether it’s exaggerated... don’t forget the gifts and cards he received last year after his relationship with Su Councilor was exposed. You have been in contact with Su Councilor’s crazy fans, you should know they’re capable of anything. Especially after last Thursday when three pretty little witches in Qingqiu robes hugged his leg during the class calling him ’daddy’, it’s sure to stir up a lot of murderous intent again...”

”Not that exaggerated, not that exaggerated.”

This time, Zheng Qing said it, forcing laughter while correcting the doctor’s description, ”Zheng Su 123 didn’t hug my leg calling me ’daddy’... and if it’s really cakes from unknown people, I couldn’t possibly give them to the Fat Man to eat, right? I do have boundaries.”

”Hehe.” Doctor Xiao sneered, saying nothing.

The Fat Man erupted in anger, grabbing the small cakes from the box, not counting the amount, directly stuffing them into his mouth and growled in muffled voice, ”You’re saying you knew these cakes could be problematic? Yet you gave them to me to eat? Don’t stop me! Let me poison myself! Treating your friend this coldly, you’ll regret it!”

Zheng Qing made a great effort to swallow back the sentence ’no one’s stopping you’ that rose to his lips.

”Who gave these things?” Xiao Xiao poked Zheng Qing.

”Thomas,” Zheng Qing replied honestly.

”Thomas from the Teaching Assistant Group? The interviewer when you enrolled?”

Xiao Xiao’s furrowed brows eased a bit, obviously understanding that cakes given by a school teacher were entirely different risk-wise from those given by an anonymous person—the Fat Wizard must have thought of this too, his anger dissipated considerably, and he picked another cake from the box, stuffing it into his mouth with an expression of enjoyment.

”Why did he send you a box of cakes? Why did you think what he sent was unsafe?” Xiao Xiao wasn’t swayed by the assistant’s reputation, clearly throwing out two very sharp questions.

Zheng Qing scratched his head.

”It’s not really unsafe,” he glanced at the box in Fat Wizard’s hand, defending softly, ”It’s just kind of subtle, not a bad feeling, not a good feeling, somewhere in between. As for why he sent me a box of cakes, it should be considered nutrition compensation...”

”Nutrition compensation?” Xin Fat Man finally showed some interest.

Zheng Qing hesitated, rolled up his sleeve, revealing a circle of white bandages wrapped around his arm, then he unwrapped the bandage, underneath was a small, concave wound, about the size of a soybean, where the semi-transparent membrane had clearly covered the fresh red flesh inside, the appearance of having applied Bai Xian healing powder.

Xiao Xiao and Xin were instantly shocked, mouth agape.

Originally curled up on Fat Man’s pillow, the Fat Cat quickly hustled over to Zheng Qing’s side, arching its body like a real cat, meowing cutely, eyes fixated on the wound on Zheng Qing’s arm, occasionally licking its lips, displaying a facial expression of drooling.

”Is this an injury?”

The Fat Wizard curiously examined the wound on Zheng Qing’s arm, unable to hide confusion, ”Haven’t heard any movements from the Teaching Assistant Group... with your current body strength, how is it possible to have a wound here!”

”Unless it was voluntary.”

Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, seriously looking at Zheng Qing, ”You’re not the freshman who just entered last year anymore, I believe when you committed this piece of flesh, you must have been fully prepared, right?”

Zheng Qing slightly nodded, placing a piece of parchment in front of the two roommates.

”A risk prohibition contract.”

He pointed at the writing on top of the parchment, concise and to the point, offering no further explanation.

As if aware of being observed, the parchment floated up glittering words and spells like small dragons tangled together, whirling, exuding waves of subtle yet strong magic.

Without a doubt, this was a contract with very high binding power, of considerable value, evidenced by the anti-forgery magic runes on its side indicating it’s a standard contract produced by Danghag, with the Teaching Assistant Group seal, Edge Academy seal, and Vice Principal Ruoyu’s personal signature at the end, all ensuring credibility and safety.
