Chapter 574: Chapter 243: Minotaur’s Ability_1

Compared to the standard Minotaur described in the ”Wizard World Encyclopedia”, the double-headed Minotaur of Zheng Qing was evidently beefier.

Its nine-foot stature towered over all the young wizards present. Its heavy breaths even blew a few birds off the branches they were nestled on for the night.

The head on the left donned a pair of enormous flat horns. The dark green horns twisted into an exaggerated curve, bending forcefully backward. It had a golden nose ring pierced through its nose, swirling with dense, intricate runes.

The head on the right boasted a pair of round short horns, faintly covered with soft hair, akin to the velvet of a newborn roe deer. This head didn’t have a nose ring but hung a pair of brass earrings, etched with fine runes that shimmered under the moonlight.

Each of the two heads possessed half of the neck, making it appear exceptionally robust. Several layers of thick, long mane were stacked behind the neck, cleverly concealing its abnormal form.

Like most standard Minotaurs, this double-headed creature was only wearing calf-nose leather pants. A showy wide belt was fastened around its waist, and a long staff hung behind it.

”Its pants are made of dragon skin,” Zheng Qing turned around and quietly told the fat guy hiding behind him. ”Sicilian Murphy Dragon’s top layer of back skin... And that totem staff, it has magic rune spells added by the Alchemist of the Alliance... I got this info from the Trident Sword guys.”

”Why are you telling me this?” asked the fat man, utterly confused. ”Do I look like someone interested in the shorts of a Minotaur?”

The public-funded student raised an eyebrow, ”Isn’t it? ... I mean, don’t you have some journalistic sensitivity? The campus newspaper shouldn’t reject an in-depth piece on the double-headed Minotaur!”

”I am a journalist for the campus paper, not the editor of some comedy magazine; I have my standards.” The fat man turned down the materials that Zheng Qing offered. ”Plus, we’re in Moon Hunting season; different kinds of news are queued up every day... There’s no spare space for your Minotaur.”

”All right, all right, we don’t have time for irrelevant discussions,” the chief hunter of the Absolution interrupted the fat man’s rambling, turning to Zheng Qing. ”What’s this Minotaur capable of? ... I mean, abilities. If possible, it’d be nice if it could give us a show, which might help our tactical planning.”

”Does it have a name?” The voice of Lin Guo rang out from behind the blue bird.

”Of course.” Zheng Qing beamed at the young wizard, seemingly eager for the question. ”A summoning spell requires pronouncing its true name... but its actual name is long and difficult to pronounce, completely inconvenient. So, I’ve given it a nickname - Nose ring and Earrings.”

”Moo!!!” The Minotaur standing nearby seemed to recognize this name, as two of its heads let out a roar at the same time.

”Nose ring and Earrings?” Xin, the fat man, spat out a piece of popcorn onto Zheng Qing’s forehead. ”Could there be a more lazy name? Why not call it Big Horn and Small Horn!”

”Watch your mouth! Or else I’ll let Nose Ring give you a thrashing!” Zheng Qing glanced at the popcorn bucket in the fat man’s arms and threatened through gritted teeth.

The bull head with the brass nose ring responded with a straightforward ’Moo’.

The fat man immediately stuffed some popcorn into his mouth, preventing himself from making a sound.

”Abilities! Abilities! Focus people!!” Zhang Ji Xin, tapping on Zheng Qing’s shoulder, frantically shook him. ”We’re running out of time!!”

”Got it, got it!” The self-conscious young public-funded student smiled awkwardly but quickly explained. ”Nose ring and Earrings has two basic abilities: Mighty Bull Demon Fist, and the Totem Aura!”

”Mighty Bull Demon Fist? Totem Aura?” Unable to contain himself, Lin Guo had come out from behind the crowd and moved closer. ”They sound quite powerful!”

Chucking to himself, Zheng Qing lifted his hand and snapped his fingers.

The Minotaur’s fist, large as a sand pot, crashed heavily into its palm, wide as a leaf fan. It grounded its hooves, bent its knees slightly, and raised its tail straight up, stepping into a standard ”bull stance”.

Then, in alternating bull steps, it lunged punches—one after the other—sometimes executing a cross-step punch and occasionally delivering a knee-striking palm technique. It shook its heads periodically, resulting in a noisy clatter from its horns, making for a rather imposing sight.

Lin Guo stood in the crowd, clapping and cheering.

”Is this the Mighty Bull Demon Fist?” Zhang Ji Xin frowned and looked back at Blue Bird standing under the tree.

The swordsman from Starry Sky College shook his head subtly.

”You said earlier; it also knows some Totem Aura?” Maybe because the Minotaur’s performance was not up to the mark, the Chief Hunter of Absolution sounded more cautious now.

Zheng Qing looked up at Nose Ring and Earrings and snapped his fingers twice.

”Boom!” The Minotaur reached for the totem pole hanging behind its backside. After twirling it in the air, it crashed to the ground, leaving everybody’s feet shaking.

”Moo!! ” The two bull heads, together, produced a deep roar mixed in with a fascinating rhythm.

All of a sudden, colourful auras surged from the base of the staff due to the tremors, transforming into halos landing on the bodies of the male wizards.

”The blue one is the Tranquility Aura, similar to the Calm Heart Talisman, but it includes a smattering of stability, pure heart, wisdom enhancement, and evil spirit removal effects. It’s particularly useful in pacifying those who are in a frenzy and for combating the evil intentions of demons... Of course, Blue Bird wouldn’t find this aura useful.”

Zheng Qing smacked his lips, observing the blue aura around the swordsman in blue and shook his head. He was pretty sure that the usually cold and distant Blue Bird wouldn’t find it useful.

Blue Bird, tilting his head, was studying the aura around his feet. Suddenly, he said, ”It’s useful.”

”Oh?” The young public fee-funded student raised an eyebrow, unsure. ”Alright... if you say so... Let’s move on to the next Aura - the red one is the Fervor Aura, which has the exact opposite effect of the blue one. Although it doesn’t make one blood-thirsty, it can effectively stimulate courage, vigour, and the will to fight...Oh, it seems perfect for Lin Guo.”

The young wizard was dragging his red aura out of the crowd and had gone up to the Minotaur, touching its dragon-skin shorts, totem staff, and hooves.

Nose Ring and Earrings were staring at the little boy, their giant eyes filled with astonishment.

”Uh, it’s okay. He’s safe,” Zheng Qing waved his hand dismissively and went on to explain the other Totem Auras to his companions.
