Journey to Become the Zenith

The Blooming Earth of Death

”You noticed it too?”

Brinda slowly nodded.

”It isn’t mana...”

Her gaze never left Victor.

”But... it isn’t any bloodline ability I’ve ever seen either.”

She narrowed her eyes, trying to understand what she was witnessing.

”There is another energy surrounding his body.”

”It’s faint...”

”Almost impossible to perceive.”

”But it’s there.”

Eon quietly observed Victor’s battle for several moments before exhaling.

”I can sense it as well.”

”It feels ancient...”

”And completely unfamiliar.”

Neither of them had ever encountered such a force before.

It wasn’t divine power.

It wasn’t mana.

It wasn’t the aura released by bloodline abilities.

It was something entirely different.

Something beyond their understanding.

Brinda let out a quiet laugh filled with disbelief.

”...Just who are you, Victor?”

Far below, Victor remained completely unaware of the countless eyes studying him.

Or perhaps...

He simply didn’t care.

His mysterious power continued to flow silently through his body as the battlefield became nothing more than another place to sharpen his blade.

Most of the mages on the wall misunderstood completely.

One elderly magician adjusted his glasses.

”A bloodline...”

”It must be a bloodline ability.”

Another quickly agreed.

”The royal family of Skyfall Kingdom possesses monstrous physical strength because of their bloodline.”

”Perhaps Victor possesses something similar.”

A younger mage shook his head uncertainly.

”But I’ve never heard of any bloodline capable of this.”

None of them knew the truth.

Victor wasn’t relying upon inherited power.

Nor divine blessings.

Nor forbidden magic.

Every overwhelming movement came solely from the mastery of Spirit Aura.

It flowed naturally through every muscle in his body.

Every tendon.

Every nerve.

Allowing him to unleash physical abilities that ordinary cultivators could never hope to imitate.

Watching from the rear of the undead army...

The Necromancer remained perfectly still.

Its emerald flames flickered thoughtfully.

”So...”

”This is your true physical ability.”

Even after witnessing Victor erase hundreds of undead with ease, it felt no anger.

Only fascination.

An existence capable of slaughtering so efficiently was far too valuable to destroy carelessly.

”I wonder...”

”Just how much further can you go?”

The Necromancer slowly lifted one skeletal hand.

Its fingers curled inward.

At the same moment...

Every undead creature attacking Fantom City’s walls suddenly stopped moving.

The defenders stiffened.

The battlefield fell strangely quiet.

Thousands upon thousands of undead slowly turned their burning green eyes toward a single figure standing alone amidst the sea of corpses.

Victor.

Without a single command being spoken aloud...

The entire undead army changed direction.

Their footsteps shook the battlefield.

Like an endless black tide...

Every remaining skeletal warrior.

Every undead mage.

Every ogre.

Every corrupted beast.

Abandoned the city walls.

They surged toward Victor from every direction.

Seeing countless enemies surrounding him...

Victor’s smile only widened.

His golden eyes gleamed with pure excitement.

At last...

A battle worthy of him was about to begin.

The battlefield trembled.

An endless tide of undead abandoned the city walls all at once, their eerie green flames shifting in unison as every hollow gaze locked onto a single figure standing amidst the sea of corpses.

Victor.

From the walls of Fantom City, the defenders watched the horrifying sight unfold.

What had moments ago been a desperate siege had suddenly transformed into something entirely different.

Every skeleton...

Every undead mage...

Every ogre king...

Every corrupted beast...

All of them surged toward one man.

The rumbling footsteps shook the earth like a rolling earthquake.

A young knight swallowed hard.

”...They’re ignoring the city.”

Another stared blankly.

”They’re all after him...”

Ruby’s breathing became uneven as she looked at the overwhelming army converging from every direction.

”They’ll bury him...”

Natalia gripped her staff until her knuckles turned white.

”No...”

Her blue eyes remained fixed on Victor’s calm figure.

”They’re trying to overwhelm him with numbers.”

Even Max’s smile faded slightly.

His years of battlefield experience told him exactly what the Necromancer intended.

”If one elite unit can’t stop him...”

”It’ll use the entire army.”

Far in the rear of the undead legion, the Necromancer slowly lowered its raised hand.

It wanted to witness more.

More of Victor’s mysterious power.

More of his impossible techniques.

More of the secrets hidden within that young body.

Victor merely looked around.

His vicious smile widened.

His golden eyes gleamed with unmistakable excitement.

”So...”

”You’ve finally decided to take me seriously.”

The Death Scythe slowly spun once in his hand.

”HAHAHA!”

”Finally!”

His laughter echoed across the battlefield, sending chills down everyone’s spine.

”Come!”

”Show me that you’re worth slaughtering!”

Thousands of undead answered with deafening roars.

They charged together.

The entire battlefield shook.

Victor didn’t retreat.

Instead...

He took one step forward.

The Death Scythe began rotating around his body.

One rotation.

Then another.

Its enormous black blade became a blur, weaving an impenetrable circle around him.

Every skeleton foolish enough to enter that deadly radius exploded into fragments.

Every spear shattered.

Every blade broke.

Every claw was severed before reaching him.

Watching from the city walls felt almost surreal.

Victor wasn’t simply attacking.

He was attacking and defending simultaneously.

The scythe never stopped moving.

Its endless rotations created a storm of black steel that swallowed everything attempting to approach.

Yet...

That wasn’t all.

Ruby suddenly frowned.

”He’s chanting...”

Natalia focused her hearing.

”...A spell.”

Unlike ordinary mages who needed complete concentration to cast high-level magic, Victor continued fighting while calmly reciting an incredibly long incantation.

Each ancient syllable flowed naturally from his lips.

His voice remained steady despite hundreds of monsters surrounding him.

The Holy Maidens exchanged shocked glances.

”Impossible...”

”No one can maintain a chant while fighting like that.”

Even the court magicians on the wall stared in disbelief.

One elderly mage’s hands trembled.

”He’s maintaining perfect mana control...”

”And not a single word of the formula is disturbed.”

Another magician whispered,

”How many years of study would that require...?”
