My Living Shadow System Devours To Make Me Stronger

Damon glanced at Ashcroft, who was standing next to him, then sneered.

”Don’t act surprised I’m here. You knew I was trapped in your sea of consciousness this whole time. Why else would you leave your body vulnerable?” Ashcroft said coldly.

Damon glanced at the tall demon. He seemed as intimidating as always, as though he feared nothing. Perhaps even the Goddess of Doom frightened him a little, but even then, Ashcroft was still the Demon Lord of Domination.

Come to think of it, Doom really was terrifying. Although Damon feared her, that fear was negligible compared to how terrified he was of the Unknown God.

After all, that bastard was nightmare fuel. No matter how much Damon thought he had escaped the Unknown God’s control, the bastard always seemed to be several steps ahead of him, and Damon hated that. More than that, the Unknown God sometimes had sound arguments when he actually bothered to explain himself, which somehow made him even more infuriating.

Damon looked toward the sea of red that had gripped the City Lord and trapped him within it, leaving him begging and screaming in horror.

”Please help me. Help me! I beg of you!” Rolo screamed when he saw Damon and Ashcroft.

Inside his sea of consciousness, he seemed different. Damon knew this person. Here, Rolo had none of the scars that covered his face in the outside world, allowing Damon to recognize him immediately.

”You are Rolo, the Headhunter,” Damon said, remembering him.

Rolo had once been a hired killer in the capital city. He had been famous for killing people who were considered evil, and when it came to rapists, he supposedly did it for free. Damon vaguely remembered hearing that Rolo’s entire village had been wiped out, though the details were a little hazy.

What Damon did remember clearly was Rolo laughing alongside the others when Back to Back was ”educating” him, which was nothing more than torture disguised as training.

Damon had never forgiven any of them.

Every person who had offered suggestions on how to make his life worse had paid the price eventually.

”Help me,” Rolo begged again, trapped inside a prison created by his own mind and consumed by madness and conflict.

Damon could see the redness spreading across his soul, slowly devouring it.

”So this is what Sylvia warned me about, the Anarchy Disease.”

Ashcroft narrowed his eyes before slowly nodding.

”The Pillar is here on this mountain. However, these mountains are enormous. If what the Blind Old Daoist said is true, the Pillar takes the form of a weapon. It can become any weapon that has been used for war across any dimension, world, universe, or even across existence and nonexistence.”

Damon glanced at his hands.

”Doesn’t that mean the Pillar itself is an incredibly powerful weapon? If it can take the form of any weapon, doesn’t that mean it can take the form of weapons used by gods? Doesn’t that mean even weapons capable of hurting a god can be manifested as long as we have the Pillar?”

The more Damon spoke, the more the red energy began to corrode his astral form. His dark soul was slowly becoming red.

Ashcroft was about to agree when he suddenly remembered exactly what they were dealing with.

”It is the Pillar, but even so, can a mortal wield such a weapon? And can a weapon kill a god? The True Beings are more powerful than the Pillars. They can create them and destroy them at will.”

Damon nodded, a smile slowly creeping across his face.

”They can if they use their true bodies. But they’ve restricted themselves with self-imposed rules. You know that. So, within their own rules, they can be defeated. I’m not saying we can kill them. That’s impossible. But what if...”

Ashcroft suddenly found himself blinded by a world of red.

What if Damon gained the Pillar and used its power to wage war against the Goddess?

He could take a vessel.

He could hurt her.

Even if he couldn’t kill her, even if he ultimately lost, he would still win.

”We can use the Pillar to manifest Nemesis Omega, the Sword of the End. When we pull it from its sheath, we can bring an end to them all,” Ashcroft suddenly suggested, a faint smile appearing on his face.

Nemesis Omega was one of the two weapons used by the Unknown God.

The first was the Sword of Beginning, Genesis Alpha, which possessed the power to create anything and everything. It represented the beginning.

Its sister sword, Nemesis Omega, was the Sword of the End.

When drawn from its sheath, it would bring an end to all things, reducing the Omniverse to a state that existed before nothingness, before even the Pillars themselves.

This was what they had learned from the Blind Old Daoist, combined with the knowledge they had gathered about the Unknown God.

”Hehehe... What a genius idea. Bring an end to this rotten world. Only through annihilation can there be true peace. The tyranny of the gods will finally come to an end!”

Ashcroft laughed, and Damon laughed with him as the redness consumed them both.

”Let’s take the Throne of Anarchy. Use Sylvia’s straw doll to modify the ranks permitted within the barrier. Find the Pillar and wage war.”

The City Lord watched the two of them succumb to the power of the red, and he lowered his head.

There was no hope.

His body had already been taken over by Damon’s far more powerful soul. It was the end for him.

”At least let me die.”

Damon’s soul completely overtook his body, and with it, the red energy spreading throughout the city fell under his control. All he needed to do was walk into the throne room and sit upon the Throne of Anarchy.

Then he would be doomed to rule over war and madness.

Just like the City Lord, or any unlucky fool who had come before him, he would create anarchy.

The only problem was that Damon Grey was a very powerful man.

His Order could move entire continents.

If a man like that became corrupted by war and conflict, the world itself would become Anarchy City.

But the City Lord’s story was different from what Damon had seen from the outside.

Inside this place, he relived everything
