Could the Law of the Stars no longer bind the Witch?

He had to admit, it was another astonishing piece of news.

Earlier, he had considered the possibility that the scroll was a trap designed to somehow restrict the Witch’s condition.

Yet now it seemed it was specifically meant to lift those restrictions?

For this alone, the trip had been completely worth it.

Although the False Starry Sky that had reappeared alongside Ancient Laerdin had long since collapsed, it remained a massive hidden danger for a higher entity like the Witch.

Its primary effect was simply too outrageous—it could completely strip a higher entity of their ability to resist.

Furthermore, not only was its core cause uncertain, but it was also impossible to grasp the driving force behind the Core of Law’s rapid flip-flopping between the two worlds, making it incredibly difficult to counter.

Because of this, no matter how small the probability, it was theoretically the true Destined Death that could spring out at any moment.

Earlier, when their limited perception only allowed for one-way communication, he had immediately chosen to share the project’s progress regarding this matter, hoping to give the Witch some reference. And yet, merely touching the scroll before her had completely eradicated this hidden danger?

The Witch’s tone was extremely certain; it was absolutely impossible for her to be careless about such a thing.

He could only conclude that for this point alone, the Witch’s journey here had been well worth it.

Not to mention there was far more to it than that. Such a highly targeted effect practically proved that the Law of the Stars’ special suppression of the Witch was the handiwork of her ”Mother.”

It seemed the First Generation Dark Moon had not just been a passive energy source for the Law of the Stars, but an active participant.

Was the Law barrier truly her masterpiece, just as he had guessed earlier?

...

It was logical, yet completely absurd.

Honestly, it was hard to imagine how such a highly targeted system—one capable of completely stripping a higher entity of their resistance—had even been built.

But if the builder was the victim herself, everything seemed much more reasonable.

For example, the First Generation Dark Moon had not only created the False Starry Sky to protect the world inside it, but had even deliberately added a restriction upon herself.

Exactly. It wasn’t aimed at the Witch, but at the ”Dark Moon.”

She had forcibly defined herself as the fuel to maintain the False Starry Sky. Even after she fell, and the Divine Station was reborn years later, it remained bound by this restriction.

Logically speaking, the Witch’s past encounters finally had a plausible explanation.

But her motives were truly staggering.

For a higher entity to dig a pit for herself just to shelter a world, even dragging her Offspring into it—what kind of sacrificial spirit was this?

From this perspective, the night of the Tyrant’s fall that he had once experienced took on a somewhat tragic and heroic air.

Reaching out to various factions in a time of crisis, launching a surprise attack on the Abandoned Prison to crusade against the Tyrant.

The Dragon King, who took the brunt of the assault, almost died for it. The Holy Infant Calamity Star, suspected to be from the Tyrant Faction, was swayed to abandon the darkness and turn to the light...

Just thinking about it seemed to evoke that soul-stirring epicness.

...

He had to admit, the complex nature of Excellency First Generation Dark Moon was becoming more and more evident.

Unfortunately, even in this hidden corner, apart from the gift in the Witch’s hands, she didn’t seem to have left a single word about her glorious deeds.

Even so, several further conclusions could already be drawn.

For instance, after the barrier shattered, she hadn’t gone into hiding; she had definitely fallen. That blooming courtyard was empty, and this secret place was nothing more than a lingering trace.

Furthermore, she had long anticipated the Witch’s conception—knowing that a new Dark Moon would definitely emerge—and had even made specific arrangements.

Otherwise, what would be the point of specifically leaving a gift here to lift the restriction?

Finally, his first trip to the Painting World truly seemed like it might have been a contingency plan left in the Warehouse by the First Generation Dark Moon.

After all, this gift of hers was for the future Dark Moon. If it weren’t for him—a character traveling back and forth who would one day bring the Bone Chain here—it was hard to imagine how the Witch could have ever entered.

The First Generation Dark Moon knew about the Warehouse, knew about the administrator, and deliberately left a contingency plan based on that knowledge...

Impressive. Single-handedly maneuvering with sweeping control, scheming across two worlds, and even arranging things for after her death.

If that was truly the case, then the Tyrant hadn’t exactly died an unjust death back then. He had genuinely run into an incredible opponent.

Although the motives behind most of these actions still seemed difficult to grasp at present.

”Aside from helping me lift the restriction, there is nothing else inside. It is blank now.”

The Witch gently shook her head, confirming the situation.

Obviously, she had also hoped to gain some information before opening it.

”However, the nature of this object is very special. Once I master it further, it might come in handy later.”

Waving the scroll in her hand, she fell into deep thought the next moment.

”So, is there anything else special around here?”

Fu Qian obviously couldn’t participate in this kind of technical work, so he immediately asked casually.

”This place is very small, and its nature is quite special. It is almost equivalent to a splintered will of Damon Moore. Leaving the perimeter of the Church means being directly exposed to him and The Prisoners.”

”Additionally, in my judgment, The Prisoners should already have some grasp of our situation.”

Explaining their current perilous predicament, the Witch gestured that the situation was clear at a glance.

But as she spoke, her gaze landed on the Statue of the First Witch.

”However, there is still one special thing. I can confirm this statue is somehow different, but it remains elusive, and I cannot touch it.”

...

Was she really respecting his opinion this much?

Fu Qian nodded silently at that moment.

They had gained a lot, but the situation was critical. Logically speaking, it was time to consider a tactical retreat.

Under these circumstances, he had only asked a casual question, yet the Witch still brought up such an ethereal clue for his consideration, completely ignoring the fact that every second they delayed increased the danger level—especially for her.

”Then let me give it a try.”

Fu Qian didn’t stand on ceremony; he walked straight up to it.

He still trusted the Witch’s judgment, so there really had to be something special here.

Although for a brute-force type like him, trying to perceive something the Witch couldn’t seemed like pure fantasy—Fu Qian directly grasped the statue’s empty hand.

That’s right. Physical contact to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.

As a control group, even though his perception was far inferior, he ultimately possessed certain special attributes. For example, he was an outsider, the Warehouse Manager, the Bookstore Owner...

So why bother taking the high-tech route? He might as well just see if touching it with this body would cause any special reaction—oh?

The touch of a cold stone statue remained in his hand, but in that moment, the Small Chapel before him seemed to gain a trace of illusion.

To the point where another scene intertwined and overlapped with it, slowly flickering before his eyes.

This was...

And the first thing Fu Qian noticed was a dilapidated wooden cabin among it all—the Clinic?
