Fu Qian’s reason for seeking out Sergei was actually very simple: to emulate the heretical cultivators of old and swap to a new vessel.

However, since he was currently restricted to physical possession and lacked any overtly magical means, the massive Sergei had been his top choice.

Melting his own flesh and bone, he twisted himself into a mollusk-like form. Wriggling from the abdominal cavity up to the esophagus, Fu Qian swiftly completed a process akin to a hermit crab swapping its shell.

Lacking experience in this sort of thing, Fu Qian executed the entire process with extreme care, even removing Mercy and the sedatives to set them aside first.

Even so, once the transfer was complete, Sergei’s massive frame swelled yet another size larger.

Of course, this was only the first step.

At this moment, Sergei was nothing more than a walking corpse, completely devoid of control.

Fu Qian couldn’t exactly just squeeze himself between a pile of internal organs and let the body wander aimlessly.

Fortunately, not long ago, he had witnessed a bizarre display from a member of the Night Watchers Council—that Half-Step Divine Envoy, the irritable king himself, Old Man Logan.

Carefully recalling Old Man Logan’s personal demonstration of one Qi transforms into the Three Pure Ones back at Unseen Hill, Fu Qian acted. In the next moment, countless fine threads sprouted from his twisted mass of a body. The threads pierced through flesh and blood, coiled around bone, and rapidly spread throughout Sergei’s entire body.

In just a few short minutes, hidden in the unseen darkness, Fu Qian’s form had completely dispersed, weaving into a system that mirrored blood vessels spreading throughout the host.

The legendary Scarlet Angel had once again made a Descent.

”F...eels... pr...etty... g...ood...”

Carefully moving the body, Fu Qian managed to clench a fist while simultaneously testing out his vocal cords.

After quickly correcting his pronunciation, he didn’t waste any more time. He stepped forward, grabbed his Soul-Deliverance Two-Piece Set, struck a pose in front of the nearby glass, and let out a cold snort.

”The twenty-first century is the century of biology!”

Amid this chilling declaration of death, Fu Qian controlled his now far more proportionate body and left the office, not forgetting to shut the door behind him.

Out in the Corridor, the recent series of commotions had already drawn quite a crowd of spectators.

However, compared to Fu Qian, they were clearly much more interested in Adele inside the screening room.

Unfortunately for them, when Fu Qian had blasted a hole in the wall earlier, he had deliberately placed it high up. The onlookers lacked the means to reach it, leaving them to cluster below, driven only by their curiosity.

But now, the Descent of the Tyrant instantly startled them. One by one, they turned their heads.

Sensing the excessively complex composition of this newly emerged target, the crowd immediately fell into a state of deep hesitation.

Fortunately, this hesitation did not last long.

The closest head was instantly blown to pieces by an invisible bullet.

This was only the beginning. Fu Qian didn’t stop moving, his fingers flicking in rapid succession.

After all, they were just walking corpses of flesh and blood. Under his Air Bullets, they were pulverized in an instant.

I knew it. My marksmanship wasn’t practiced in vain.

Snorting coldly, Fu Qian blew on his fingertips.

Among all his abilities, Air Bullet wasn’t the most destructive. But right here and now, it was his most practical tool.

After all, even though his power was still rapidly recovering, this physical alternate persona was far too fragile. It couldn’t withstand his usual reckless style; it would be a disaster if it accidentally tore.

With that thought, the newly minted Tyrant Sergei bent his knees amidst the pools of blood and vaulted directly through the hole in the wall.

Inside the darkness, it was still just one person and one cat, though right now, it was eerily quiet.

Adele, whose face was pressed against Henry, had no reaction whatsoever to the Tyrant’s entrance.

The last trace of light had already faded from her once-lively eyes.

However, perhaps due to the effects of the sedatives, even though her mind was gone, she still didn’t exhibit any obvious aggression.

After ”surveying” her from above for two seconds, Fu Qian didn’t disturb her peace. Instead, he reached out and yanked Henry out from under her.

The cat had been curled up on Adele’s arm, unusually quiet.

Now, disturbed by Fu Qian, Henry’s fur instantly puffed up, and he launched into a frantic struggle.

Unfortunately, under the Tyrant’s despotic power, its struggles were entirely futile. Fu Qian quickly gripped its head, forcing Henry to look him directly in the face.

From an outward glance, aside from looking a bit more bedraggled and covered in more blood than before, Henry hadn’t undergone any special changes.

But unfortunately, Fu Qian was currently incapable of just looking at appearances.

Even as powerful as he was, manipulating Sergei’s vocal cords to speak was already a rather troublesome technical feat. Attempting to hijack the optic nerves would have been far too delicate of a procedure.

So in reality, the Tyrant’s current eyes were merely decorations for Fu Qian. He had been relying entirely on his Transcendent Tier perception all along.

Yet at this very moment, this inconvenience yielded a wondrous result.

In Fu Qian’s perception, Henry’s eyes were no longer green. Instead, they were as crimson as fresh blood.

Not only were they as radiant as stars, but they also formed an indescribable resonance with the omnipresent colors around them.

[Mission complete. Current mission updated.]

[Submerge the Origin of Colors into The Abyss.]

It really is you!

Hearing the pleasant prompt echo in his mind, Fu Qian let out a deep sigh.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t suspected this cat. But along the way, aside from a faintly implied entanglement of love and hate, the feline hadn’t displayed any other abnormalities.

However, just now, as his power recovered to a certain threshold, the cat underwent a wondrous change within his perception.

This was a presence within the Transcendent Tier, completely different from everyone else.

That was why, the moment he acquired his new vessel, Fu Qian had immediately come inside to investigate.

As it turned out, the feline truly hadn’t disappointed him.

At the same time, Fu Qian couldn’t hold back his urge to complain about the Warehouse—would it kill it to give slightly more detailed prompts?

Even if it didn’t explicitly tell him to find a physical alternate persona, couldn’t it have at least added a line in the mission about finding a way to restore his power?

He had carried this cat for quite a while earlier, but that hadn’t triggered the mission update at all.

The reason was simple enough. He had to ”see” its Transcendent Tier nature.

In other words, if he hadn’t found a way to recover his Transcendent Tier state, he could have completely forgotten about ever completing this mission.

...

Of course, complaining was just a fleeting thought. What Fu Qian truly cared about was the worst-case scenario implied by the Warehouse’s extreme irresponsibility—something was restricting it.

The new mission conditions actually mentioned an absurd location like The Abyss.

Coupled with the fact that this was a Grade 1 Item, it was hard not to connect the current situation to some higher-tier powers.

If his guess was correct, it meant that the massive crisis he had feared was brewing earlier had a mastermind who was likely unreasonably powerful.

It gave off the overwhelming feeling of Dead Star shining.

”Looks like we’ll be taking a trip to The Abyss together.”

With a sigh, Fu Qian hoisted Henry up and ”gazed” in the direction of the research institute.
