’So there’s actually a rule like that?’

No wonder she looked so thoroughly confident.

Watching Madam Suzune sneer at him, Fu Qian noted that he had learned something new once again.

From what she had just said, this Night Watcher—brimming with an overwhelming sense of justice—had clearly been keeping an eye on Dancy for a long time.

Unfortunately, he fell outside her jurisdiction, leaving her with no way to deal with him directly.

As for going to the police, hadn’t Dancy practically volunteered to be brought to justice when he was begging for mercy earlier?

For someone like him, dealing with the police had never been a problem.

So, in a sense, it was precisely because he wasn’t a transcendent that he had been able to do whatever he pleased for so long.

And it was obvious that Madam Suzune had been waiting for today’s opportunity for quite some time.

As for the ”Miracle Potion” she mentioned, it was undoubtedly Designation HAP0032-667. Just as expected, it was linked to supernatural powers. Was the Anjing Group gathering massive numbers of test subjects to verify the efficacy of certain special potions?

”Miss Kisaragi participated in the Miracle Potion trials? How come I didn’t know?”

Amid his thoughts, Fu Qian fully displayed his excellent quality of remaining unfazed in the face of danger, openly questioning Suzune’s claim.

”You can verify it through any channel.”

”There is no need. I trust Madam Suzune’s professional competence.”

Fu Qian acted with remarkable magnanimity, refusing to dwell on the issue of her credentials.

”So the reason you came here today is that I, as a bloodthirsty villain, am currently assaulting Miss Kisaragi?”

He quickly changed the subject.

”Putting aside the fact that this essentially involves an ordinary person victimizing a transcendent, Miss Kisaragi is sitting right here, perfectly fine.”

”Is that so? Can I ask a few questions, then?”

Suzune stepped forward, her face cold, her gaze instantly locking onto Kisaragi Kana.

”Ah!”

Amid the gasp, Kisaragi Kana’s bath towel was suddenly yanked aside, revealing a shapely thigh wrapped in bandages.

”Miss Kisaragi, what happened to your leg?”

Although she was addressing Kisaragi Kana, Suzune kept her eyes fixed on Fu Qian.

”This...”

Suzune’s abrupt action clearly caught Kisaragi Kana off guard.

When the woman had barged in and declared her intentions, Kisaragi Kana had undoubtedly been quite tense.

Because it was obvious that this Night Watcher was telling the truth.

Dancy Crawford was indeed engaging in unspeakable acts, and the evidence was sitting right under their noses.

So when Suzune walked over, her attention was almost entirely focused on the plates on the dining table.

She hadn’t expected the woman’s very first move to be yanking at her bath towel.

After all, she had subconsciously covered the wound’s location after the woman walked in.

Faced with the sudden interrogation, she glanced up at Fu Qian first, finding that he didn’t look nervous in the slightest.

”I accidentally stabbed myself with a Kitchen Knife while I was cooking just now.”

The next moment, Kisaragi Kana gently stroked her wound and answered with absolute composure.

”You accidentally stabbed yourself... yourself?”

Before Kisaragi Kana even finished speaking, Suzune’s eyes widened like saucers.

As a transcendent, she was naturally highly sensitive to the scent of blood. Kisaragi Kana’s simple attempt to cover it up couldn’t fool her at all.

Therefore, even though she had found it strange that the two of them were actually sitting down to eat when she snuck in, she had remained firmly convinced that the breakthrough she was waiting for had finally arrived.

She never expected Kisaragi Kana to so casually claim that she had stabbed herself!

”Don’t be afraid.”

Suzune took a deep breath, glaring even more fiercely at Fu Qian while gently comforting Kisaragi Kana.

”With me here, there’s nothing he can do to you.”

”Thank you. I was a bit scared at the time, but I’m much better now.”

Kisaragi Kana met her gaze and gave a slight nod.

”I just didn’t expect a simple cut to bleed so much.”

...

Night Watcher Suzune was momentarily at a loss for words.

”So, you made all of these?”

After a few seconds of silence, she pointed at the dishes on the dining table.

”Yes.”

Seeing the Night Watcher suddenly focus her attention on the food, Kisaragi Kana couldn’t help but shoot another glance at Fu Qian.

However, the latter remained completely unresponsive, sitting there with perfect composure.

”Yes, they were all very simple to make.”

Kisaragi Kana’s tone relaxed, and she reached out with her chopsticks with a sweet, captivating smile.

She picked up a slice of lung and carefully brushed off the shredded scallions.

The next moment, she placed the slice of lung directly between her ruby lips.

”But the flavor is still quite good... Sorry, I seem to be bragging a bit.”

Covering her mouth as she chewed, she began laughing uncontrollably and shaking with laughter, completely oblivious to the fact that the other woman’s face had grown as black as the bottom of a pot.

Clearly, things were moving in a completely different direction than Suzune had anticipated.

And her imagination simply wasn’t vivid enough. She had only considered the possibility that Kisaragi Kana was being threatened by a pervert like Dancy; she hadn’t considered the possibility that the woman herself was a pervert.

Could it be that Dancy had realized her plan and set a counter-trap for her?

Otherwise, with his cautious nature, how could he possibly have failed to notice that Kisaragi Kana was participating in the trials?

A flurry of wild speculations instantly churned through Suzune’s mind.

...

’No reaction, huh!’

As Kisaragi Kana swallowed her own lung, Fu Qian stared almost exclusively at the wound on her leg.

And ultimately, he confirmed that nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

The wound didn’t accelerate its healing. It seemed that doing this wouldn’t trigger that miraculous state.

In fact, for Fu Qian, this was the only issue he cared about.

The Night Watcher brimming with justice standing before him wasn’t a threat at all.

He had far too many ways to deal with a minor nuisance like her.

Of course, looking at it now, given the perverted side Kisaragi Kana had just displayed, this didn’t even count as a minor nuisance.

”Madam Suzune, you probably haven’t had dinner yet, have you? Since you’re already here, why don’t you stay and have a bite!”

Watching Suzune’s mind spin frantically, Fu Qian extended an utterly unenthusiastic invitation.

...

”One day, I’ll wipe that smile off your face.”

At this point, Night Watcher Suzune clearly realized that there was nothing she could do to Fu Qian today.

Before leaving, she glared at him and spoke, enunciating every single syllable.

”Alright, but I hope whatever methods you use will remain within the rules.”

Fu Qian’s face showed no fear; he had heard these kinds of death threats so many times his ears were callused.

”Because I bought a Death Mark service from the Anjing Group.”

”Just saying. I’m not targeting anyone in particular.”

...

There was a hint of desolation in Suzune’s retreating back as she left.

After watching the Night Watcher leave, Fu Qian retracted his gaze and looked at Kisaragi Kana, who was already eating her second slice.

”Sorry, I should have explained it to you beforehand. I didn’t expect it to cause such a huge mess.”

The latter looked up right on cue, a smile on her face.

”Actually, I don’t think I’m going to encounter any Miracles...”

”It’s fine.”

Faced with her apology, Fu Qian remained remarkably magnanimous.

”What time is your trial?”

”It was moved to ten tonight.”

”Alright, I’ll drop you off later.”
