’Does this make any sense?’

The car slowly rolled to a stop. Fu Qian stared at the hotel beside them, completely speechless.

When Torrance said he wanted to rest, Fu Qian assumed he planned to find a motel or somewhere similar to take a break.

But the building in front of them had a footprint the size of several football fields.

A single glance revealed it was a full five stories tall, standing there like a small castle.

For such a colossal structure to exist out in this remote wilderness felt excessively jarring from any angle.

Unfortunately, the Torrance Couple seemed completely oblivious to this. They parked the car with almost frantic urgency.

Upon entering the brightly lit lobby, they both let out sighs of relief.

The interior was incredibly luxurious. Vintage furnishings paired with gold carvings created a dazzling expanse of crimson and gold beneath the lights.

The Torrance Couple was instantly captivated. Fu Qian trailed silently at the back of the group, keeping a close eye on Violeta’s reactions. The little girl hadn’t spoken a word since getting out of the car. Her eyes were much more animated now, however; as she glanced around, she was clearly enchanted by the magnificent decor.

It seemed she had almost forgotten about finding her Mother.

Fu Qian watched her and shook his head.

Too bad she could afford to forget. He couldn’t.

His mission was to take her to find ”Mother’s room,” and so far, he didn’t have a single solid clue.

If this really was the Snow White story, the queen mother in the original tale died early on, offering no valuable information.

Fu Qian rubbed his chin.

Of course, in older versions of the tale, the woman who relentlessly hunted Snow White out of jealousy was her biological mother.

But seeing the sheer yearning on Violeta’s face when she thought of her Mother, it probably wouldn’t be that dark—right?

Additionally, it was worth pondering why this little Snow White looked so strikingly similar to Su Gao.

All things considered, he needed to talk to the little girl as soon as possible to gather more information. Between the Scarecrow from earlier and this abnormal hotel right in front of them, things felt like they were heading in a rather troubling direction.

”A family room?”

The night was late, and the lobby was completely empty.

The Torrance Couple led the two of them straight to the front desk, where a tall, thin man greeted them with a smile.

”One...”

Torrance repeated the man’s suggestion, subconsciously shaking his head before casting a hesitant glance at the group behind him.

”No, three rooms.”

Before Torrance could say anything else, Fu Qian directly held up three fingers.

”Three rooms?”

The man behind the desk looked taken aback.

”That’s right. Make it three.”

Torrance froze for a second. Then, he gave Fu Qian a deep look and agreed with the request.

The tall, thin man fully displayed the professionalism of the service industry. Without asking further questions, he briskly processed their check-in.

Fu Qian completely understood Torrance’s earlier hesitation.

First of all, the Torrance Couple definitely wanted a room to themselves; otherwise, the trip would lose half its meaning.

But if they only booked two rooms, meaning Violeta would have to stay with him, the couple obviously felt that would be inappropriate.

After all, there were too many perverts out there these days, and even though Violeta was young, she absolutely lived up to the title of Snow White.

Rather than leaving the couple in such a difficult position, it was better to simply suggest they all stay in separate rooms.

Although this arrangement would make it less convenient to communicate with Violeta, it was still better than all four of them cramming into a single room.

...

Violeta raised no objections to this arrangement.

The three rooms were on the same floor. Given how late it was, the four of them wasted no time and headed straight to their rooms to rest.

After eating the simple meal delivered by the hotel, Fu Qian immediately prepared to step out for a walk to see if the little girl, Violeta, would wander out again.

However, the moment he cracked the door open a sliver, Fu Qian froze.

A thousandth of a second later, he made another move—slamming the door shut backhand.

Sure enough, things were getting weirder by the minute!

Still gripping the gold doorknob, Fu Qian let out a sigh.

Although it was just a fleeting glimpse, in the instant he opened the door, he noticed that the Corridor outside had completely lost its previous luxury.

Widespread ruin and decay had replaced it, making the place look as though it had been abandoned for a long time.

At the same time, more than one silhouette was wandering in the gloom. Judging by their skeletal structures, most didn’t look human.

The only one that vaguely resembled a human appeared to be walking on all fours.

Fu Qian looked around. Everything in the room remained exactly as it was, and his half-eaten dinner was still there.

Of course, that was mainly because the jellied eel was so awful he couldn’t be blamed for not finishing it.

In short, the moment he opened the door, it was as if he had switched to another world. The scenery he saw was completely different from before.

Why was that?

Faced with this situation, Fu Qian fell deep into thought.

His way of opening the door must have been wrong!

As the saying goes, a lunatic’s mind knows no bounds. After letting his thoughts run wild, an answer popped into his head.

But what had caused his door-opening posture to be wrong?

Fu Qian glanced at the gold doorknob in his hand, mildly suspecting it might be made of actual gold.

Though it looked somewhat aged, it was still polished enough to reflect a person’s image.

Wait, reflect an image—

Fu Qian realized something.

Swish!

He stepped away from the main door, moved two paces to the side, and yanked open the bathroom door.

Just as he thought!

From the moment he had walked in, Fu Qian had felt something was faintly off. Now he confirmed the source of that unease—there was no Mirror in the bathroom.

In fact, it wasn’t just the bathroom. There wasn’t a single Mirror in the entire room.

This was obviously abnormal.

”Since Snow White is here, is it the Magic Mirror?”

Fu Qian muttered to himself.

Had the legendary Mirror with mystical powers trapped him in the room?

Even if you’re on the stepmother’s side, you should go look for Snow White. Why bother a miner like me?

Fu Qian felt highly displeased by this.

Though it was only a guess, verifying it wouldn’t be too troublesome.

First, Fu Qian turned up the lights in the room, and then he walked over to the window.

The hotel room had an older style, and the windows weren’t particularly large.

But no matter how small, it was enough to serve as a Mirror.

Fu Qian stared blankly at his Reflection in the window.

A full minute passed, and nothing inside changed.

”I’m a pacifist. I never recommend using violence to solve problems.”

Still gazing at himself in the Mirror, Fu Qian spoke slowly and methodically.

”But if friendly communication is refused, I might be forced to take some rather excessive measures...”

”Like smashing the toilet to pieces, turning the high-end pajamas in the closet into a mop, and evenly smearing whatever flows out of the bathroom over every surface that could qualify as a Mirror.”

”...Hello!”
