“You have no right to pity me. Who do you think you are, acting all superior?”

Qing Shui laughed. Looking at Beihuang Fan, he said, “Even the most normal person will think that you are pitiful. Do you know why people live?”

“There is no one answer to this question. There will be a hundred answers for a hundred people.” Beihuang Fan regained her composure.

“Wrong. There is only one answer. It is to guard the purest land in our hearts,” said Qing Shui gently.

“I also have a pure land in my heart and I’m guarding it,” replied Beihuang Fan.

“You do not have any pure land. You are living in pain. You are strong and you have a good family background, but you are unhappy. You can’t find your own standing because you are lacking in affections and desires. Only kinship matters to you. Even for kinship, you only have one,” said Qing Shui.

After a long pause, Beihuang Fan then replied, “Maybe you are right, but I’m not sad because I don’t want to.”

“You want to, but only once in a while. Perhaps you are not very sad, but you are very lonely even though you have your parents, so many siblings and relatives. You are still lonely and you don’t fit in.”

“Enough. Even I don’t know about this, what could you possibly know?” Beihuang Fan interrupted.

“You’re a foolish woman who is headstrong and so full of yourself,” said Qing Shui.

Beihuang Fan was stunned. She couldn’t believe someone just called her foolish, even her own parents would not say that.

Beihuang Fan was an extremely gifted woman. Most people would feel inferior in her presence. Who would be qualified to say that she was foolish?

Unswayed by Qing Shui’s words, Beihuang Fan looked at him and said, “Do you want me to beat you up again?”

“If you dare to hit me again, I’ll use my two hands to grab your…”

No matter how calm Beihuang Fan was, she couldn’t help but quiver. She had not met such a shameless person...

However, she couldn’t kill Qing Shui. He belonged to the Divine Palace and he was a friend of her nephew. Moreover, her father thought highly of him and even wanted to matchmake them. But this fellow was not embarrassed at all by his hooligan-like actions.

Qing Shui’s idea of Beihuang Fan had changed after meeting her. After all, she had a problematic character, which actually explained how she managed to achieve such a terrifying level of cultivation. He did not wish to have her fall in love with him. He couldn’t do that and wouldn’t want to try too because that would be looking for trouble.

The wounds on Qing Shui’s face had healed. At his cultivation level, superficial wounds healed quickly.

“You already had your fight and to be honest, I’m not interested in you, so please don’t look for me again in the future. I’m scared of you,” said Qing Shui seriously.

This got Beihuang Fan annoyed. Since when did she deserve such a treatment? She was groped today and was also called a fool, and now she was asked to leave.

“You detest me?” asked Beihuang Fan.

“I’m not sure how to say it, but my subconscious told me to stay away from you if I treasured my life,” answered Qing Shui.

“I won’t kill you,” Beihuang Fan’s expression turned softer and gentler.

“So I must be really fortunate. What do you want exactly?”

Qing Shui did not know why was this woman here for. She spoke little and calmly but you could feel sorrow in her.

“I want you to go after me,” Beihuang Fan looked calmly at Qing Shui.

Qing Shui gasped, feeling a bit dizzy.

He really did not know what she was trying to do. He asked, “Do you like men?”

“No!” replied Beihuang Fan without any doubt.

“Then why do you want me to go after you?” said Qing Shui.

“Don’t know. So are you doing it?” She looked at him.

“No. You are not interested in men, so why do I have to go after you?” asked Qing Shui.

“If you’re not pursuing me, I’ll come every day to beat you up,” said Beihuang Fan in a serious tone.

“Woman, I’m scared of you. So if I courted you, would you agree or not?” Qing Shui felt confused by her intention.

“I will not agree!”

Qing Shui sighed. “Could you tell me why you are doing this?” His patience had run out and this was the only thing he’d want to know now.

“No, I’m leaving now. Remember to chase after me. Otherwise, you will regret the consequences,” Beihuang Fan left after saying that sentence.

Qing Shui did not move. Looking at her disappearing elegant silhouette, he muttered, “Crazy woman!”

……

Taiyi Immortal Palace!

“My girl, how was that chap?” Beihuang Liefeng smiled, looking at his daughter lovingly.

“I beat him up,” said Beihuang Fan calmly.

“Oh, did he hit back?”

“No. He scolded me for being a foolish woman,” replied her.

“So what do you think of him?” asked Beihuang Liefeng gingerly.

“I don’t know, but he’s kind of different from other men. He told me directly that he was not interested in me and did not want me to look for him anymore,” Beihuang Fan shook her head and said.

“Ah, this lad. How could he not want to see my daughter who is such a beauty,” said Beihuang Liefeng angrily.

“Father, I am not interested in him. Let’s not talk about this anymore. I’ll meet someone I like next time, don’t worry,” Beihuang Fan seized the opportunity to bring this issue up.

“You’re not giving it a second thought? He is the most talented and promising young man I’ve met. Most importantly, he has a good character.” Beihuang Liefeng tried to convince her daughter.

“Leave it to fate. Forcing us to be together will only bring us pain. You said that the Beihuang family does not need alliance through marriage.”

Beihuang Liefeng let out a sigh. He had to let it go. However, a week later, Qing Shui came to the Taiyi Immortal Palace. Feeling honored that Qing Shui had come in person, Beihuang Liefeng went to welcome him. “Young man, what has brought you here? Are you looking for Yu Er?”

“I’m here to court your daughter, Beihuang Fan,” said Qing Shui.

Usually, nothing could really startle Beihuang Liefeng, but this time he was so stunned that he had forgotten to drink the cup of tea he had in his hand.

After coming back to his senses, he laughed. “I thought you didn’t like my daughter so why are you courting her?”

Beihuang Liefeng had a sip of his tea after saying it.

“I have no choice. This week, I didn’t chase after her and she came every day to beat me up. If I don’t do it, I’ll be beaten to death by her,” said Qing Shui.

Pppppt!

Beihuang Liefeng spat out the tea rudely.

He could tell that Qing Shui was not lying as he looked so serious, but he was surprised that his daughter would force him to chase her. After all, she was the one who wanted to drop the matter. He was thinking it was such a pity then, little did he know that things were actually progressing better than what he had expected.

“Qing Shui!” Beihuang Liefeng personally poured him a cup of tea.

Qing Shui was overwhelmed by his gesture. He wanted to pour the tea by himself but Beihuang Liefeng insisted on serving him the cup of tea.

“Sir, please say what you have in mind,” said Qing Shui politely.

“I only have one daughter. You have a daughter too. Do you dote on her?” Beihuang Liefeng tried to appeal to Qing Shui emotionally.

“Yes, I do. Of course, I dote on her. Even if she wants the moon, I’ll bring it down for her.” Talking about his daughter, Qing Shui realized that he had not gone home for a long time.
