Elderly Prince: My Spirit Increases by 1 Point Daily

Chapter 161: Chapter 160: You’re Unworthy

Xia Wuyang’s words made Zhao Qi’s face turn pale. He never expected that Xia Wuyang had exposed his identity and come looking for trouble just to seek justice for Mo Qianqiu.

’If I’d known this would happen, I would have waited,’ he thought. ’He’s just an old man on the verge of death anyway. Why did I have to be so ruthless?’

’Now, not only is the man still alive, but I’ve also drawn out a hidden Xia Wuyang. What am I going to do?’

It wasn’t that he didn’t consider fighting back—he was a Third Grade Martial Artist, after all. But when he remembered the way Xia Wuyang had stealthily bewildered him and his trusted aide, Zhao Qi abandoned the thought.

Kneeling on the ground once more, Zhao Qi wept bitter tears. ”Your Highness, I was truly forced into this! It was the Third Prince, Xia Wuchen! He was the one who made me target Master Mo as proof of my allegiance.”

”But I remembered Master Mo’s past help and delayed acting all these years. Unexpectedly, the Third Prince, Xia Wuchen, brought it up again recently and forced me to deal with it quickly. Only then did I make a move. I beg Your Highness to see the truth of the matter.”

”It wasn’t the Third Prince, Xia Wuchen, who remembered this. It was you. In fact, you’d almost forgotten about it entirely.” Seeing Zhao Qi still shamelessly trying to argue, Xia Wuyang laughed and directly voiced the surface-level thoughts from his mind.

Zhao Qi froze. ’How does Xia Wuyang know what I’m thinking?’ he wondered. ’Is he just guessing?’ Just as he prepared to argue again, he heard Xia Wuyang continue, ”I’m not guessing. I can indeed see your thoughts. Stop fabricating facts and trying to pin this on Xia Wuchen.”

”I...” Zhao Qi was as if struck by lightning, kneeling frozen on the ground with a deathly pale face. He immediately began to kowtow repeatedly. ”Spare me, Your Highness! I know I was wrong! I’m willing to hand over all my assets, I only beg you to spare my life! If Your Highness is still worried, you can control me with a potent poison. I would never dare to defy you in the slightest!”

”You’re a ruthless one, I’ll give you that. No wonder you earned Xia Wuchen’s favor all these years.” Xia Wuyang sighed. ”A pity you’re not worthy. It’s time for you to go.”

Before Zhao Qi could react, a palm struck his head. As despair and regret filled Zhao Qi’s eyes, Xia Wuyang brutally crushed his skull.

The reason he had revealed his identity was to make Zhao Qi’s death all the more agonizing and full of regret.

Now that he had revealed his identity and power, Xia Wuyang couldn’t possibly let him live. As for his page, he was naturally killed as well.

He then dissolved both bodies, leaving no trace behind. He proceeded to loot all of Zhao Qi’s resources and treasures, not even sparing those hidden in secret compartments and the Secret Vault, staging the scene to look like a robbery-murder.

Furthermore, the perpetrator’s familiarity with the Zhao Family Mansion would suggest they had been targeting Zhao Qi for a long time, which would further deflect any suspicion from himself.

As for Zhao Qi’s wives, concubines, and children, Xia Wuyang didn’t lay a hand on them himself.

With Zhao Qi dead, given his past deeds, his family would certainly not meet a good end. There was no need for him to get his own hands dirty.

After dealing with Zhao Qi, Xia Wuyang didn’t return immediately. Instead, he hurried toward Mo Qianqiu’s residence.

Mo Qianqiu lived in a humble little courtyard, a stark contrast to the opulence of the Zhao Mansion. A few vegetables and fruits were even growing in the yard.

Peering through the window, Xia Wuyang saw Mo Qianqiu circulating his energy to heal. He coughed from time to time, his body clearly weak.

A pang of sorrow struck Xia Wuyang’s heart. ’I have wronged Master Mo all these years,’ he thought.

He placed several bottles of Healing Medicine at the door—all of them fine items from the Inner Treasury, including a variety of Top Level Mortal Elixirs and Medicines.

He then knocked lightly on the door before his figure flickered and vanished into the distance.

Hearing the noise outside, Mo Qianqiu paused. After a moment of wary observation, he opened the door and discovered the Jade Bottles on the ground.

Stunned, he looked around for a moment before carefully picking up the Jade Bottles. He opened one and inspected it closely, shocked to find they were all for healing—and perfectly suited for his injuries.

”This... so many Top Level Elixirs. It’s enough to treat the old hidden injuries I sustained years ago,” Mo Qianqiu said in disbelief. ”Some of these are Healing Holy Medicines that haven’t been seen in decades! Who could have sent them?”

In addition, there was a letter tucked between the Jade Bottles. It detailed how to use these Healing Elixirs to treat both his current wounds and his old hidden injuries. He had never seen the handwriting before, yet the sender knew his condition like the back of their own hand.

”Who could it be?”

Mo Qianqiu gazed into the pitch-black night, his eyes filled with confusion.

In his current state, who would be so kind to him? Who would dare to be so kind? And who would have the ability to do so?

He couldn’t think of anyone. Yet, looking at these elixirs, one person faintly came to mind. After all, some of these elixirs were exclusive to the Royal Family. ’Could it be the Crown Prince?’

’No, no, the Crown Prince can barely protect himself these days. How could he possibly obtain such priceless Healing Holy Medicines? Then who could have sent them?’

Once he saw Mo Qianqiu take the Jade Bottles back inside, Xia Wuyang was finally at ease and quietly departed.

This was all he could do for now. Once he possessed enough power, he could help Master Mo regain his authority and handle various matters for him.

As long as his injuries healed and he recovered his original strength, Mo Qianqiu would once again be that astonishingly powerful First Grade Perfect Grandmaster. With Zhao Qi dead, no one should be looking for trouble with him anytime soon.

’It won’t be too long,’ he thought. ’A few years at most, and Master Mo will be back to his former self. No, he’ll be even better than before.’

Back in Wenhua Hall, Xia Wuyang once again immersed himself in his cultivation.

He had handled the matter quite cleanly, not leaving behind traces of the Enchanting Heart Technique as he had before.

However, to avoid arousing suspicion—if there were absolutely no traces at all, it would inevitably lead people to think about certain matters within the palace.

Thus, he had left a few subtle clues behind. But they were the kind of clues a master thief would leave; trying to follow them back to him would be next to impossible.

The night’s work had settled a score with an ungrateful villain and saved a loyal old minister. It was, in a sense, killing several birds with one stone.

From Zhao Qi’s Secret Vault, Xia Wuyang had also acquired some valuable items. He could use some of the elixirs himself. Although there were no Miracle Treasures, there were High Level or better Mortal Elixirs and Medicines.

Even if he couldn’t use them himself, he could sell them later in exchange for resources and treasures he needed.

In a few more days, his Spiritual Power would reach two hundred and seventy. He planned to use this opportunity to break through to the next minor stage in his Cultivation Realm, rather than using the chance for enlightenment on his Mortal Pill Technique.

After all, even if he used it on the technique, it wouldn’t be enough for a breakthrough. It was better to use it on his Cultivation Realm and shatter another barrier.

’I wonder if this breakthrough will also cause my Talent and Qualification to transform,’ he thought.
