Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 110: Chapter 109: Seeing Through the Plot

Ling Fei and his group were preparing to cross the mountain ahead and continue toward the core of the ancient ruins, but they were unexpectedly ambushed by Demon Beasts on the mountainside.

Using his Heart Spirit Sensing, Ling Fei was shocked to discover the figures of Liu Ming, Liu Yuan, and the others on the mountainside.

This discovery made his gaze turn cold. He then continued to sense the fluctuations from that area.

”Heh heh, with so many Red-Eyed Demon Bears attacking, I imagine most of these people will be stopped right here.” On a protruding ledge of the mountainside, Liu He gazed down at the scene below. A faint smile touched his lips as he watched Shangguan Qingmu and the others being ambushed by the giant bears.

”Among them, only Shangguan Qingmu and Ling Fei have any real combat strength,” one of the young men next to him said with a casual smile, his arms crossed over his chest.

”But that Ling Fei’s strength is quite impressive. His attacks deal more damage than Shangguan Qingmu’s. His combat power is already comparable to a Cultivator at the Late Stage Innate Perfection Realm. An ordinary person truly stands no chance against him!” a youth from the Royal Academy remarked, raising an eyebrow.

”This Ling Fei is certainly a character. Heh heh, if he hadn’t offended Liu Ming, I would have even considered recruiting him,” Wang Dongyang said with a smile.

”Brother Dongyang, you’re not actually thinking of showing him mercy, are you?” Liu Jingyun asked from the side, his brow furrowed.

Liu Ming also frowned.

’If Wang Dongyang hadn’t sprinkled that beast-attracting medicinal powder on the path Ling Fei’s group was bound to take, it wouldn’t have been this easy to cause them trouble. I’ll have to rely heavily on Wang Dongyang for what comes next!’

’If he intended to hold back, it would be a huge problem.’

”Heh heh, you jest. He’s just a disciple from a Humble Family. How could he possibly compare to the generations of friendship between our two families?” Wang Dongyang laughed. ”If I intended to show mercy, why would I have scattered the Seven Fragrance Demon-Luring Powder to attract these Demon Beasts to ambush them? Heh heh, this Seven Fragrance Demon-Luring Powder is extremely precious. I was only able to obtain this small amount thanks to my elder brother. This is something only the Major Sects can refine!”

’In my opinion, Liu Ming’s branch of the family has a Primordial Pill Realm expert. Winning over Liu Ming is the same as winning over that expert, which is naturally better than recruiting some kid from a Humble Family. Besides, the Liu Clan is a major clan that continuously produces geniuses. How could the influence of a Humble Family possibly compare?’

”That’s good to hear.” Hearing this, Liu Yuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

’I’ve been plotting against Ling Fei for so long and even brought Liu Ming into it. If it all falls apart now, all my efforts will have been for nothing.’

”Brother Wang, I thank you for this favor,” Liu Ming said, cupping his fist.

He too knew how precious this kind of item was.

If Wang Dongyang’s brother hadn’t joined one of the Major Sects, few people in the Great Tang Empire could refine such a medicinal powder.

”Don’t mention it,” Wang Dongyang said with a smile. He then looked down and continued, ”Although the Demon Bears have stopped them, knowing them, they certainly won’t be willing to just give up and leave. They’ll probably send someone to scout ahead and see if there’s a pack of Demon Beasts waiting. The person they send will definitely be one of the strongest among them.”

”Shangguan Qingmu has reached the Innate Perfection Realm, making his Realm the highest among them, but his combat power is inferior to Ling Fei’s. After this battle, he’s bound to have exhausted a great deal of True Qi. Therefore, Ling Fei is actually the most suitable candidate to scout ahead. If he’s the one who goes, heh heh, then everything will be easy.”

”If it plays out like that, it would be perfect,” Liu Ming said, a glint of anticipation in his eyes.

’With Shangguan Qingmu, Shangguan Yurou, and the others still around, it isn’t a good time to attack openly. The best opportunity will be when Ling Fei is alone.’

That was precisely why they had gone to such lengths to use the Seven Fragrance Demon-Luring Powder, luring the beast pack to stop the group’s advance. Their goal was to create an opportunity for Ling Fei to go out alone. As for whether things would develop as they had planned, that remained to be seen.

Then, with faces full of anticipation, the group continued to watch the scene below.

’So it was Wang Dongyang who used the Seven Fragrance Demon-Luring Powder to lure these Demon Beasts here.’ Through his Heart Spirit, Ling Fei finally understood the whole story.

At the same time, he also knew that these people were getting ready to make their move.

’These people want to lure me out alone so they can kill me. If I don’t go, they’ll surely try something else, and it might even endanger the others,’ Ling Fei mused, his expression contemplative.

The Demon Beast attack had already put everyone in considerable danger.

If those people continued their schemes and lured even more Demon Beasts, the consequences would be more than Ling Fei could bear.

Shangguan Yurou, Huang Xiaoman, Mu Xue, and the others were all his friends. He couldn’t bear to see any of them come to harm.

’In that case, I’ll play along with their scheme and settle things with them once and for all.’ Ling Fei’s gaze hardened, and he retracted his Heart Spirit.

Then, his gaze returned to the Demon Bears in front of them.

At this moment, everyone was fighting with all their might, but they were being forced back through the mountain forest by the pack of bears, on the verge of being routed.

”Alright, here’s the plan. I’ll go all out and use my Cold Dao True Qi to injure these Red-Eyed Giant Bears, sealing their meridians to slow them down. You all can then take that opportunity to land a fatal blow. This is the only way to injure the most Demon Bears in the shortest amount of time and relieve the pressure on us.” After retracting his Heart Spirit, Ling Fei’s eyes flashed as he spoke to Shangguan Qingmu, Mu Xue, Huang Xiaoman, and the others beside him.

”Use Cold Qi to affect their movements? That would be best.” Shangguan Qingmu nodded. He had also noticed Ling Fei’s advantage during the battle just now.

Then Shangguan Qingmu added, ”My Swordsmanship is sharp and fierce. As long as I have an opening, I can kill these Demon Bears in one strike. It will be a perfect complement to your attacks.”

”Good!” Ling Fei nodded.

He was also aware of the power of the Shangguan Clan’s Celestial Spirit Sword Technique.

After that, the group immediately adjusted their strategy.

Ling Fei made his move. The Cold Chi True Qi in his body circulated, and an aura of True Dragon Intent quietly condensed around him.

Sword Qi Arrow!

Ling Fei attacked forcefully. With a move of his Long Sword, Sword Qi erupted, shooting toward the Red-Eyed Demon Bears ahead like arrows.

SWOOSH, SWOOSH!

Stream after stream of Sword Qi shot out like arrows.

The crucial part was that all the streams of Sword Qi seemed to be controlled by a single will, each one shooting toward a different Red-Eyed Demon Bear.

”So much Sword Qi, and he can move it all with just his will?” Seeing this, Shangguan Qingmu and the others beside him revealed their astonishment.

This was a feat only a Cultivator at the Innate Perfection Realm could achieve!

Moreover, even a Cultivator at the Innate Perfection Realm could only control a few streams of Sword Qi to attack different targets.

Take Shangguan Qingmu, for example. At most, he could split one sword strike into three streams of Sword Qi to attack three targets. Any more than that, and he would completely lose control.

How could Ling Fei’s technique not astonish him?

”Could it be that this guy has reached the Innate Perfection Realm?” On the mountainside, Liu Yuan couldn’t help but reveal a look of surprise.

”This...” Even Wang Dongyang couldn’t help but stare intently at the commotion below.
