My Most Beautiful Fiancée

Mu Lin noticed the subtle shift in the atmosphere and looked toward Hong Rui.

Hong Rui’s gaze wavered, and she looked utterly terrified.

Mu Lin didn’t know what could possibly make Hong Rui so scared when he was right there with her.

He looked around and spotted a woman in the distance, wearing heavy, gaudy makeup.

She was looking in their direction. It was almost certain that she was the source of Hong Rui’s fear.

The heavily made-up woman walked over. Hong Rui said fearfully, ”Sister Xiangxiang.”

Mu Lin pondered for a moment. ’Hong Rui and this woman probably know each other. And they might have some bad blood between them.’

’But she’s just a girl who recently finished her college entrance exams. What kind of trouble could she possibly get into?’

”Well, Hong Rui, you’ve really made it, huh? Already looking at villas. Which sugar daddy is sponsoring you? Introduce me, why don’t you? Maybe I know him!”

Lin Shishi found it nearly impossible to hide her disgust for this woman. After a quick glance, she said:

”Ruirui, who is she? You two seem to know each other?”

”She’s my senior from school, Ma Wenxiang.”

Hong Rui struggled to get the words out, her gaze completely consumed by fear.

Mu Lin felt he had to step in. He immediately walked forward, shielding Hong Rui from view.

”Miss, is there anything else besides catching up? We’re very busy. If not, we’ll be on our way.”

Ma Wenxiang glanced at Mu Lin, thinking, ’This guy isn’t wearing any designer brands, and he’s not even good-looking. Who the hell does he think he is?’

”Where did this hick come from? Trying to keep a woman like Hong Rui? Your family must own a mine or something. She’s been passed around and is totally worn out!”

Lin Shishi couldn’t let Ma Wenxiang talk like that. ”Stop spouting such vicious lies!” she yelled. ”Don’t assume Ruirui is just like you!”

”Vicious lies? Heheheh, why don’t you ask her how she seduced my man?”

Hong Rui shot back angrily, ”I didn’t! I didn’t do it!”

Mu Lin frowned and pointed to a man not far away. ”Do you know him?”

Hong Rui shook her head frantically. ”Of course not! This is totally ridiculous!”

Ma Wenxiang said coldly, ”I’m not talking about him. I’m talking about my ex-boyfriend!”

Mu Lin chuckled. ”You already have a new boyfriend, so why do you still care about the past? Besides, it’s just a baseless rumor. I don’t believe Hong Rui is that kind of person.”

Hong Rui said, ”That’s right! I have no idea what she’s talking about, but she’s always harassing me!”

”You’re still pretending? He already admitted it! Why else would I have broken up with him? If you hadn’t seduced him, we’d still be perfectly happy together.”

”The people I hate most are those like you, who look all pure and innocent on the outside but are full of wicked schemes on the inside.”

As she said this, Ma Wenxiang raised her hand and went to slap Hong Rui.

Mu Lin’s gaze sharpened. He raised his hand and blocked Ma Wenxiang’s. ”What do you think you’re doing? Do you really have to take it this far?”

The man behind Ma Wenxiang said coldly, ”Who the hell are you? This is between the two of them. Why do you have to interfere?”

Mu Lin said, ”I have no intention of interfering, but making a scene like this is just too ugly.”

The man reached out, trying to pry Mu Lin’s hand away, but to his surprise, Mu Lin’s hand was like it was forged from steel. He couldn’t move it at all.

He wanted to show off for Ma Wenxiang, which meant he had to move Mu Lin’s hand. But no matter what he did, it was useless. His face flushed red with exertion and embarrassment.

But it didn’t budge an inch. ’What is going on?’

”If you know what’s good for you, stop making trouble. Scram before you embarrass yourself further.”

With a light flick, Mu Lin sent Ma Wenxiang’s arm whipping back.

It caught her completely off guard. ”This...”

Mu Lin’s eyes narrowed. ”What is it? Did you want to say something?”

Humiliated and enraged, Ma Wenxiang stomped her foot. ”Young Master Fan, did you see that? He hit me! He hit me!”

Mu Lin’s eyes narrowed. ’Just as I thought, another rich brat.’

”Don’t worry, babe. I’ll call some people right now. I’ll make sure they teach him a proper lesson!”

He grabbed his phone and pointed at Mu Lin. ”If you’ve got any guts, you’ll stay right there! Just you wait!”

Mu Lin narrowed his eyes. ”What am I waiting for? If you’re going to fight, then fight. Hurry up!”

But Young Master Fan was just making a call. He yelled into the phone, ”Get over here, now! I sent you the location! Bring some guys and hurry up!”

’So he’s just calling for backup. How boring.’

Mu Lin gave a cold smile.

”Is that all you know how to do?”

”Shut up! As long as it takes you down, that’s all that matters!”

Hong Rui reached out and grabbed Mu Lin’s arm. ”Brother Mu, let’s just go... Don’t fight them.”

Mu Lin smiled. ”This woman slandered you like that. If we just leave, people will think you’re admitting guilt. We can’t have that.”

Hong Rui opened her mouth, then closed it and nodded.

”You’re right...”

Lin Shishi also stomped her foot, saying angrily, ”That woman is spouting absolute garbage! Brother Mu just flung her hand away, and she starts screaming that he hit her!”

”The people who’ve actually been hit by Brother Mu are all long dead.”

She wasn’t an ordinary person anymore either; she had not only heard of Mu Lin’s deeds but had also witnessed them firsthand.

When it came to petty thugs who provoked him, Mu Lin had always been one to kill with a single blow.

If Mu Lin had truly hit her as Ma Wenxiang claimed, she would already be dead beyond dead by now.

After finishing his call, Young Master Fan laughed heartily. ”Just you wait for death! My boys will be here any second!”

Mu Lin said, ”That woman is no good. Why are you investing so much in her? Leaving her would be the best thing for you, you know?”

Young Master Fan only took Mu Lin’s advice as a provocation. ”Fuck, are you saying my woman’s no good? You’ve got some nerve! When my Brother Cheng’s people get here, you’re finished!”

Mu Lin wasn’t worried. He had Lin Shishi go to a convenience store to buy some sunflower seeds, and the three of them started cracking them open while they waited.

This attitude infuriated Young Master Fan. He had issued so many warnings, yet Mu Lin hadn’t listened to a single word, completely disrespecting him.

’This is infuriating. I have to get my dignity back.’

About ten minutes later, a van pulled up to the entrance.

”Brother Cheng, you’re here!” Young Master Fan ran up to him. Brother Cheng was also courteous, offering Young Master Fan a cigarette.

”Is that the punk over there? A loser like that trying to make a name for himself? I’ll definitely teach him a harsh lesson,” Brother Cheng said with a chuckle.

More people were still piling out of the large van, row after row of thugs lining up behind Brother Cheng.

The dark mass of men was so large it seemed to blot out the sky. Hong Rui was terrified and hurriedly gripped Mu Lin’s hand tightly. ”Brother Mu...”

Mu Lin patted her hand. ”Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

He took two steps forward. Brother Cheng walked up to him, lifted an iron pipe, and pointed it at Mu Lin.

”Kid, you don’t just have some nerve, you’ve got a hell of a lot of it. So tell me, how do you want to die? Maybe if you hand over the two women behind you, I might just let you live!”

Mu Lin gave a cold laugh. ”You sound pretty tough. You’re going to let me live? Well, come on then. Let’s see if you can actually kill me!”

Mu Lin spoke with an unnerving calm, which made Brother Cheng’s anger start to boil over.

’I never thought I’d run into someone like this. Someone who’s not the least bit afraid of me.’

”You’re a tough guy, huh? Alright then, Mr. Tough Guy. Don’t you know that Young Master Fan’s father is a famous entrepreneur here in Songyang?”

”You’ve got real guts, provoking Young Master Fan.”

Mu Lin handed the sunflower seeds to Lin Shishi.

”Do I have to know who every Tom, Dick, and Harry’s dad is now? How am I supposed to live my life?”

Brother Cheng roared:

”You’re talking tough now, but you won’t be for long! Get him!”

The crowd of thugs immediately swarmed forward, rushing at Mu Lin.

Mu Lin was completely unfazed. With a simple dodge and a kick, one of the men went flying, tumbling through the air.

After he repeated this a few more times, there wasn’t a single thug left standing.

Young Master Fan and Ma Wenxiang were both dumbfounded. What was Mu Lin doing?

He’d taken them all down in just a few moves. This was insane.

Mu Lin calmly walked up to Young Master Fan. ”So, which boss is your father? Care to make an introduction?”

Young Master Fan was trembling uncontrollably.

”Don’t get cocky! Brother Cheng works for Master Hu!”

Mu Lin narrowed his eyes. ”And who is this Master Hu? Why are there so many names? Can’t you just list them all at once?”

Young Master Fan was practically bursting with pride. ”Master Hu is the new king of Songyang’s underworld! Scared now? If you are, then get lost, or just wait here to die! Ever since Master Su died, he’s been taking over all the territory. My Fan Family helped him out a lot during that time, so Master Hu will definitely back us up!”

”If you apologize right now, you might still have a chance to live. Otherwise, just wait for the lesson Master Hu is going to teach you!”

Mu Lin chuckled. ”So it’s just this little mess? And here I was, thinking it was something serious.”
