I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts

On the dome of the Central Church, colored glass refracted the light brilliantly.

Around the round table, all six people, including the Fallen Knight, fell into a collective silence.

”We are knights; doing this might be inappropriate.”

”Indeed, acting against the principles of the Knight’s Code, we’ll be criticized.”

”Everyone, we are exiles.” Zhan Ning had to tap the table and coughed lightly a couple of times.

Everyone here was exiled by the Imperial for violating the Knight’s Code, so stop pretending to be justice messengers.

Moreover, inside the current Imperial, there are not a few knights violating the Knight’s Code either.

Hearing Zhan Ning’s ”reminder,” the two Punishment Knights looked awkward; the setting was too formal, their occupational habits nearly made them forget they were in the City of Extreme Evil.

Then it’s settled.

”I agree to let this Knight Bob, go to the Anti-Xia Alliance as a spy.”

”I second the motion.”

”I have no objections.” Yu Lian shrugged, also agreeing to Zhan Ning’s plan.

The Fallen Knight likewise did not object, and the proposal passed unanimously.

”Then it’s decided.”

Next is to refine the details of this plan to ensure its successful execution.

…

”What? I disagree!”

Han Zhan stood up excitedly from his seat, looking at Zhan Ning in disbelief.

”Don’t get excited, don’t get excited.” Zhan Ning seemed to have predicted Han Zhan’s reaction, immediately gesturing with his hands.

”You want me, a knight, to go to the Anti-Xia Alliance? You’re pushing me into the fire pit! Zhan Ning, though I’ve spoken ill of you dozens of times behind your back, you don’t have to retaliate this way, do you?”

”Dozens of bad words?!” Zhan Ning’s face turned instantly black, ”Didn’t you say you don’t have the habit of speaking ill of your leader behind their back?”

”That’s not the point!”

Han Zhan was very agitated.

He finally had the chance to go to the Anti-Xia Alliance; once there, he could establish contact with Gongyang Jin, then use the Slaughter Battlefield to return to Great Xia, completing the ultimate goal of the City of Extreme Evil mission.

But Han Zhan couldn’t show this openly.

On the contrary, he had to appear extremely resistant.

It’s like acting in a play.

”Zhan Ning, I’m a core knight, is this how your Sun Never Sets Knight Order treats a core knight who just made great contributions?”

”Ahem, but strictly speaking, you’re actually a Spirit Contract Master of the Anti-Xia Alliance.”

Zhan Ning tried to correct his perception.

”Now that you don’t need me, you start turning your back?”

”How could that be! On the contrary, precisely because we need you, we collectively decided that only you can complete this severe and important task!”

Zhan Ning then explained his plan to Han Zhan in detail.

The more he listened, the more peculiar Han Zhan’s expression became, until finally, he was utterly shocked.

”You want me to pretend to fall out with the Sun Never Sets Knight Order, then be pursued all the way to the Anti-Xia Alliance?”

”That’s right.”

”To make it look convincing, only the high-ranking members of the Sun Never Sets Knight Order, including you, will know about this plan, and you, as high-ranking members, will personally participate in hunting me down?”

”That’s right.”

”I actually understand up to this point, but what’s with these things you want me to take? What the heck are they?”

Han Zhan glanced at the list Zhan Ning prepared for him.

A pair of floral shorts close to the body, a handmade sachet, a yellowed thousand paper crane with a unique body fragrance, and a tuft of... hair???

What kind of mental state does it take to compile such a list of items?

Zhan Ning said seriously, ”You don’t understand, this list is your life-saving channel!”

”With this list, you can ensure safe entry into the Anti-Xia Alliance.”

As he spoke, he looked around, confirmed no one was nearby, then leaned in to whisper in Han Zhan’s ear.

Han Zhan listened, eyes wide, even more shocked than before.

He looked at the list in his hand, then at Zhan Ning, sincerely marveling, ”Ning, you’re really something!”

No need to question the plan’s viability; with Zhan Ning’s list, even the most unreasonable plans started to make sense.

Next, they had to discuss the matter of compensation.

”Five hundred gold coins.” Zhan Ning held up five fingers.

”Are you trying to get rid of a beggar? This is the Anti-Xia Alliance we’re dealing with!”

Han Zhan was unmoved by this compensation.

”A thousand gold coins!”

Han Zhan still shook his head.

”No matter how much money, it’s worthless if you don’t live to spend it. What I need now are survival items, not money.” Han Zhan said.

”Survival items?” Zhan Ning scratched his head, Han Zhan’s request certainly posed a challenge.

As a knight of the Sun Never Sets Knight Order, the aura bestowed by the Knight’s Code is the best tool they have; rarely do they have other tools.

The sharp Demon-Breaking Greatsword? That has little to do with survival.

Holy Knight Armor? Donning that in the Anti-Xia Alliance and surviving would be considered incredibly lucky.

”Your request, I need to report back and see if other knights have suitable items for you.”

Zhan Ning acted swiftly, and within less than a quarter hour, he returned with three items in hand.

Each item exuded its own distinctive aura.

The first item was a pitch-black cloak. To the untrained eye, it might look like a regular cloak, but observant as Han Zhan, his eyes immediately locked onto it.

”This is the Demon Crossing Cloak, an item treasured by the Fallen Knight. It provides resistance to external damage and has concealment and disguising effects.”

Zhan Ning’s gaze at the pitch-black cloak was akin to one looking at a peerless beauty; from his unwavering stare, Han Zhan knew it was an extremely valuable item.

Taking the Demon Crossing Cloak from Zhan Ning’s reluctant hands, Han Zhan draped it over himself.

Soon, a black mist began to emit from the inside of the cloak, quickly enveloping Han Zhan.

The next second, the image of a warrior clad in black armor vividly emerged.

The pitch-black helmet obscured much of Han Zhan’s face, leaving only a pair of cold, murderous eyes visible.

His fully armored body exuded an overpowering aura, capable of intimidating all who dared approach him. The valiant silhouette dissuaded anyone from impulsive advances within his combat radius.

Zhan Ning clicked his tongue in envy as he looked at Han Zhan dressed in the Demon Crossing Cloak.

”The Demon Crossing Cloak is a growth-type defense item, currently Tier Seven. Attacks below Tier Seven are ineffective, and it reduces Tier Seven damage by fifty percent, Tier Eight by thirty percent, and Tier Nine by ten percent.”

”It chooses its wearer; the stronger and more potential the wearer has, the more powerful the form it can exhibit.”

”Looks like the Demon Crossing Cloak thinks highly of you.”

Zhan Ning’s tone was slightly sour, but Han Zhan’s mood was excellent.

Having not updated his gear for ages, he never dreamed he could pinch resources from the Sun Never Sets Knight Order, and he urged:

”What’s the next item?”
