This restaurant had a wide range of characters and was frequently visited by all sorts of customers. Therefore, their group did not attract any particular attention.

A garrulous restaurant employee spoke to them, ”If it is an inconvenience for the young nobleman to be with the venerable elder up here, I could always find a seat for you downstairs.”

Long Fan shook his head. ”That wouldn’t be necessary. The venerable elder has an eccentric behavior and does not like noise.”

The employee still wanted to say more, but Gu Xijiu interjected languidly, ”My loving grandson is filially pious. Do what he says.”

As Long Fan was afraid of her tricks, he had made her ingest a kind of pill. Not only was she incapable of moving, but she also did not have the strength to speak as well. She was only able to utter a couple of words with a hoarse and feeble voice, which was barely louder than the buzzing of a mosquito.

Gu Xijiu was arranged at a position, which according to Long Fan was a good vantage point and it was suitable for her.

Gu Xijiu glanced outside from time to time, looking at the people passing on the streets and the merchants that were peddling and hawking here and there. It was a flourishing scene to behold.

Gu Xijiu was barely able to sit by bending her back, but raising her arms was impossible. Therefore, even though she was hungry to the extent that her stomach was rumbling, she could not taste the cornucopia of delicacies before her.

Long Fan was obviously taking his revenge on her for referring to him earlier as her ”loving grandson”. Though he had filled her plate with food, he had not fed any of it to her yet.

As the diners on this floor were the more valuable customers, the waiters walked in to serve them from time to time such as to pour wine or water for them.

Gu Xijiu endured the pain for a while, but when the restaurant employee finally showed up to fill her drink, she instructed him, ”Stay here and serve me. After you have finished serving me, my loving grandson will reward you,” Though her voice was soft, it was still audible.

Naturally, the employee was glad and agreed to her demand and stood beside her attentively. After a while, he shifted his attention to her plate before asking her solicitously, knowing that she had difficulty moving. ”Venerable elder, shall I feed you?”

However, Gu Xijiu was a finicky elder. ”That wouldn’t be necessary, my loving grandson will serve me,” She turned her head falteringly and instructed Long Fan, ”Loving grandson, you’re my most filially pious grandson. Come and feed your grandfather a meatball.”

Long Fan was speechless. He noticed that the employee was looking at him and so he was forced to restrain his anger and put a meatball into her mouth. Gu Xijiu slowly ate the meatball and instructed him again, ”Loving grandson, come and feed your grandfather a spoon of soup.”

Long Fan felt like slamming her into the bowl of soup! However, he did not want to make a spectacle out of himself before the good show commenced. As he had put on the appearance of a filially pious grandson earlier, he was forced to go along with the act and fed her.

Meanwhile, Gu Xijiu had a lot of tricks up her sleeve. For instance, she complained that the dishes were too sweet or too bland. She also wanted to eat prawns and asked Long Fan to peel the shell for her… Her instructions gave Long Fan a headache, and eventually, he gave up on eating as she would not let him eat in peace.

Enraged, Long Fan told her, ”You better know your limits! I won’t give you the antidote if you torment me again, and will let you suffer in agony!”

Gu Xijiu stopped tormenting him and looked at him blurrily instead. ”Loving grandson, thank you for your hard work. To serve an elder like me that already has one foot in the grave, you could not even get something for yourself to eat. Sigh, it’s fine, feed me a few more spoonful of soup, and grandfather will be full.”

Seeing that she was about to stop her torments, Long Fan controlled his rage and fed her soup. However, she abruptly let out a cough and sprayed both soup and saliva on Long Fan’s face…

Long Fan was speechless again.

”Snap!” The soup bowl was immediately crushed with his hand, scaring the restaurant employee.

Gu Xijiu put on a regretful expression. ”My loving grandson, grandfather did not mean to do that. [Cough cough] Are you angry… [Cough cough] And ignoring your grandfather?”
