Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1989: Chapter 1925: Can You Still Copy?

Thirteen people are participating in the competition.

Only five people can advance to the second round.

”The judges will come over by evening and won’t meet with any painter, so the scoring process will be fairer,” Pheng Fei told them.

”You have three hours. For painting, three hours might not be much, so you must manage your time and your work properly. Now, draw a number. Go to the art station with that number, as this number will also be your artwork number, and results will be announced according to these numbers.”

Mr. Wen Li has already gone to rest.

The first round requires staying here for three hours; of course, he won’t be watching the entire time.

Tina and Pheng Fei are here to observe, and Green is in charge.

There are also a few assistants ready to help with any emergencies.

Some people started to feel nervous.

Chiang Xiao, however, felt no anxiety or unease. She had already decided what to paint, and for this round, she wouldn’t use the Magic Brush, relying instead on her own skill.

Liu Guoying also trusted her abilities. That’s why he hadn’t given her any specific instructions for today, just told her to perform naturally.

Chiang Xiao drew number seven.

However, luck wasn’t on her side because Luna was number six, and Wilson was number nine.

They were on either side of her.

Fortunately, the corridor was long enough, so the distance between each art station wasn’t very close, about two or three meters. At such a distance, it was believed they couldn’t pull any tricks.

After drawing their numbers, everyone started immediately.

Chiang Xiao’s eyesight was better than anyone else’s. With a glance, she could see what Wilson was sketching.

Sure enough, he was drawing the scene Liu Guoying mentioned that day.

As soon as he drew the outline, Chiang Xiao recognized it.

This person is really...

Chiang Xiao shook her head silently.

She hadn’t forgiven Wilson yet, especially since he almost knocked down Teacher Liu that day. However, she wouldn’t play any tricks now. She would just see if he was lucky enough, and if they met in the second round, she’d repay that incident for sure.

Miss Tina walked over to her side and said loudly, ”Miss Chiang, please focus on your own work and stop looking at others’.”

These words...

Chiang Xiao got angry instantly.

How could she possibly copy?

Besides, if looking is not allowed, then maybe they should increase the distance.

Everyone was looking at their neighbors’ initial strokes, so why point her out?

Originally, everyone was watching their neighbors start, but because of Tina’s remark, it seemed like she was the only one cheating.

Holding her brush, Chiang Xiao glanced back at her, raising her voice slightly, ”What, can’t I look?”

”There’s no rule against looking at others’ paintings,” Pheng Fei immediately said, ”Everyone is painting scenes from the same park. If someone chooses the same scene, that’s fine. The judges will base their scores on the artworks.”

If even painting the same scene is allowed, why not glance at others’ paintings?

Painting is unlike other subjects where you can just copy down an answer.

Even if you copy a painting directly, it doesn’t mean you’ll produce the same artwork; replicating exactly the same is also a test of skill.

”What I’m painting is different from both Miss Luna’s and Mr. Wilson’s scenes, so Miss Tina need not worry. Also, I hope Miss Tina can take the time to appreciate others’ creations; otherwise, if you only watch me, others might feel neglected.”

Chiang Xiao’s words subtly implied Tina was focusing solely on her.
