Cultivation Online

”W-What did you just say?” Gu Kecheng muttered with a dumbfounded look on his face.

”How many times do I have to repeat myself?” Yuan sighed, sounding annoyed. ”I don’t want to waste my time. If you want to fight me, make sure you have some points. At least 50.”

Gu Kecheng stared at Yuan in utter silence, looking completely stunned.

After a moment, his expression shifted, and his face rapidly turned bright red.

Then, without warning, he stepped forward, drew back his arm, and attempted to throw a punch.

Yuan, who saw the attack coming from miles away, casually dodged it before grabbing Gu Kecheng by his neck and slamming him onto the ground with a heavy thud.

”If you can’t beat me with your entire cultivation, what makes you think you can beat me without it?” Yuan sneered as he looked down on Gu Kecheng with disdain.

”B-Bastard...! Do you know who I am?!”

”No, I don’t—but let me guess. You are some brat from an influential family, and you’re going to cry to your parents about me, begging them to take care of me because you’re too pathetic to do anything yourself.”

”You—!”

”Shut up.” Yuan slammed his head onto the ground, interrupting him. ”If you’re going to cry to your parents, go ahead. But be prepared for the consequences.”

Yuan released Gu Kecheng the next moment and wiped his hands on his suit, as though he had touched something filthy and wanted to clean them.

”...”

Officer Mei watched the entire exchange with a nonchalant expression. Since Gu Kecheng had made the first move, she did not blame Yuan for retaliating. And because their confrontation was nothing more than a minor scuffle, she saw no reason to intervene.

”Let’s go.” Yuan walked around Ge Kecheng, who could only sit on the ground, his head as red as a tomato.

Ge Kecheng turned to glare at Yuan’s back and muttered, ”I will make you pay for this humiliation!”

Some time later, Officer Mei brought Yuan to a location with several machines arranged in an orderly fashion.

”You can exchange your points here.”

”How many points do you have, Officer Mei?” Yuan asked her out of curiosity.

”Just call me Mei Xiaoyun,” she said. ”Anyway, I have about a thousand points.”

”A thousand points? That sounds like a lot. What rank are you?”

”I’m only at Expert since I don’t come here often.”

Yuan’s eyes widened at her words.

If a single victory earned an average of five points, then she would have needed to win at least two hundred matches to accumulate one thousand points. Yet, she was only ranked Expert.

This made Yuan wonder how many matches he would need to win before reaching Gladiator to fight Wu Wang or Shi Fa.

Yuan turned his attention to the machines a moment later.

”How does it work?” he asked.

”Place your hand into the slot over there,” Mei Xiaoyun pointed.

The moment Yuan slotted his hand into the machine, a screen appeared before him.

[Martial Techniques]

[Cultivation Techniques]

[Cultivation Resources]

[General Resources]

There were several categories, and Yuan slowly looked through each of them one by one.

He started with Martial Techniques, and surprisingly, there were a ton of them. Tens of thousands, in fact.

’There are so many martial techniques, yet every cultivator I have fought so far has used Limitless like an amateur without a single technique... Why is that?’ Yuan wondered inwardly, but he quickly realized the problem shortly after when he considered buying one to examine it.

Even the cheapest martial technique costs more than a thousand Gaia Points, and if Mei Xiaoyun—an Expert with over 200 victories—could barely afford one, then the vast majority of players would have no chance of purchasing it.

Yuan looked at the Cultivation Techniques next.

”Wow...” Yuan muttered in surprise at how cheaply the cultivation techniques were sold compared to the martial techniques.

Although there were only around a hundred cultivation techniques, the cheapest cost just one hundred Gaia Points, while the most expensive cost ten thousand. In comparison, the most expensive martial techniques cost a million points.

However, once Yuan thought about it, the pricing made sense. After all, nearly everyone in this world cultivated through Gaia’s Cultivation System, making traditional cultivation techniques basically obsolete.

He moved on to Cultivation Resources next, and the first item on the list he noticed was Gaia’s Stone.

”A single Gaia’s Stone costs only ten points? It’s cheaper than I imagined,” he muttered aloud.

Hearing this, Mei Xiaoyun said, ”That’s largely because they are already widely available with limited usage.”

”Take a look at the cost of Gaia’s Gift,” she then said.

Yuan looked through the list until he found Gaia’s Gift.

His eyes widened when he saw that a single Gaia’s Gift would cost him ten thousand points.

”Ten thousand points! Not only that, but it’s the lowest quality!” he exclaimed.

Besides the high cost, Yuan was also surprised to see several tiers of Gaia’s Gift available.

[Gaia’s Gift: 10,000]

[Superior Gaia’s Gift: 75,000]

[Flawless Gaia’s Gift: 500,000]

”Hm? What is this Gaia’s Blessing that costs two million points? It’s double the cost of the most expensive martial technique,” Yuan asked when he saw it.

”You need it to reach Rank 9 Cultivation Speed,” Mei Xiaoyun explained. ”However, nobody has ever reached such a level, and most people do not even surpass Rank 5.”

After a slight pause, she continued, ”You asked me about the differences between the ranks of Heavenly Refinement, right? Now that I think about it, it was recently proven that the stronger one’s physique is, the higher their cultivation speed can improve.”

”So even if one with a low-ranking physique consumes Gaia’s Gift, it’s not guaranteed that their Cultivation Speed would rank up?” Yuan asked.

”That’s correct.”

”I see...”

After going through Cultivation Resources, Yuan looked in the final catalog, General Resources.

”Hm?”

His eyes suddenly lit up when he recognized some of the names listed, as they were also available in the Nine Heavens.
