Supreme Warrior in the City

”Get the hell out of here!” Ye Xingjun roared, raising his hand to strike Su Yang with a palm.

Su Yang was not to be outdone, and he countered. The two stayed close, fighting dozens of rounds, yet Ye Xingjun couldn’t do anything to Su Yang, unable to drive him away.

”Let’s go, don’t waste time anymore!” Su Yang said, ”I’ve made it here, do you really think you can shake me off? You might as well speed up and we’ll both chase after him. Alone, you are no match for that masked man; together we might stand a chance!”

”Screw you!” Ye Xingjun cursed outright, almost exploding with anger. Is there really someone so shameless in this world?

Su Yang didn’t care at all, gripping Ye Xingjun’s arm tightly, letting Ye Xingjun take him flying.

Ye Xingjun struggled a bit, but couldn’t shake him off, having no choice but to fly upwards.

”I mean, you’re such a big shot in the Human World, as the revered Su Alliance Leader, one of the most powerful people indeed. Can’t you have a bit of dignity?” Ye Xingjun advised earnestly, ”Can’t you climb up on your own? Getting carried by someone else, wouldn’t that be disgraceful if word got out?”

”Hehe...” Su Yang chuckled; he had no intention of climbing by himself. It’s impossible this lifetime. Have you ever seen someone ignore a free ride and insist on walking on their own two legs? Isn’t that foolish?”

”You’re not wrong; your method does hurry things up a bit!” Su Yang pumped Ye Xingjun up: ”Honestly, I have great faith in you. The Feather Spirit Palace is indeed inseparable from your Feather Clan. When we get up there, you try first and see if you can snag the inheritance!”

Su Yang still had words unsaid. He actually didn’t plan on getting the Feather Spirit Palace’s inheritance. To him, saving Qi’er was the foremost task; nothing else mattered.

Besides, with the masked man there, who’d let them take the Feather Spirit Palace’s inheritance anyway? So Su Yang’s words were just empty promises!

Naturally, Ye Xingjun wouldn’t be fooled by Su Yang, grumbling, ”Stop spewing crap; whether the Feather Spirit Palace has anything to do with the Feather Clan isn’t your place to say. Got the guts then climb up yourself, no guts then shut up!”

”You’re doing it wrong; my not climbing doesn’t mean I lack guts. Quite the opposite, it signifies real skill!” Su Yang laughed, ”Look, I don’t have to climb myself, and it’s less exhausting, right?”

Ye Xingjun just wanted to kill someone. Yes, you’re not tired, why don’t you ask if others are?”

However, he couldn’t do anything about Su Yang now. The two were equally matched, and if Su Yang wanted to pester him, he just couldn’t drive Su Yang away.

”One more word of nonsense, I’m not going up!” Ye Xingjun threatened viciously.

”It’s okay, if you’re really tired, you can take a break,” Su Yang said, ”But if you really don’t want to climb up, I won’t force you. Anyway, I have no hope of getting the inheritance inside; if your Feather Clan doesn’t mind, just let that masked man have it.”

”#@!#￥*...” Ye Xingjun still wanted to kill someone.

Though they bickered non-stop, it had to be said, Ye Xingjun’s speed was indeed impressive, closing the distance with that masked man.

However, the masked man also accelerated—not because Su Yang and Ye Xingjun were catching up, but because the red light inside that gap was getting brighter, and the power inside was boiling more violently.

No doubt, the inheritance inside was about to emerge; naturally, the masked man couldn’t afford delay.

As for Su Yang and Ye Xingjun, to him, they were no more than ants. If they came close, he could easily kill them both with a palm, no other concerns.

Thus, up they climbed, for roughly a day and a night, finally nearing that gap.

It must be said, both the masked man and Ye Xingjun weren’t slow.

Bear in mind, this gap was only halfway up the trunk. Still, this tree was tens of thousands of miles tall, and halfway up meant several thousand miles high. A day and a night to climb this high wasn’t easy.

No exaggeration, even Ye Xingjun was panting heavily. This guy could manage flying alone, but with Su Yang, it’s different.

”Come on, come on!” Su Yang turned into a cheerleader, continuously motivating Ye Xingjun.

”Shut up!” Ye Xingjun, too exhausted to speak, could only grunt two words expressing discontent.

”It’s alright, I’m not tired.” Su Yang chuckled.

Ye Xingjun opened his mouth but decided to stay silent. Talking wastes energy, doesn’t it?

Finally, the masked man reached the vicinity of the gap ahead of them.

Su Yang and Ye Xingjun were still about a hundred meters away.

Su Yang saw it clearly; the masked man reached out to test the gap, as if wanting to enter. Yet, his hand seemed blocked by an invisible wall, suspended mid-air unable to move forward.

The masked man frowned. Then, suddenly grabbing Qi’er nearby, he flung Qi’er straight into the gap.

”No!” Su Yang shouted, but now it was too late, Qi’er had already fallen into the gap.

Earlier when the masked man’s hand reached out, it was obstructed. Yet when Qi’er fell, no impediment stopped her, and she dropped directly into the gap.

Su Yang watched helplessly as the red light engulfed Qi’er, then Qi’er vanished into the crimson glow, restoring tranquility once more.

Su Yang felt his heart nearly stopping, a moment of silence, then he suddenly leapt onto the tree, clawing his way upwards in a frenzy.

At the gap, the masked man was probing again, but his hand remained blocked, unable to stretch in.

”Die!” Behind him, Su Yang roared in fury, his entire being unleashing power to the utmost, striking the masked man’s back.

The masked man remained unmoved, as the blow neared him, he suddenly extended a finger.

Su Yang felt his strike’s power instantly channel into the finger. Then, with a flick, the power reversed, assaulting Su Yang.

Su Yang hadn’t expected such a turn, too late to dodge, forced to defend with all his might.

With a thunderous crash, Su Yang was hurled away, immense impact causing blood to ooze from his mouth, heavily injured. The crux was, he was suspended mid-air, plummeting straight downwards. At this rate, he’d likely fall to the tree’s root.
