Supreme Warrior in the City

Chapter 467: Chapter 466: The Element of Affection, Unknown from Where It Begins, Deeply Entrenched with Single-mindedness.

Just then, the roar of a motorcycle engine suddenly broke the silence from afar.

Both of them turned to look and saw a red sports car speeding towards them.

”Trouble’s coming!” Ye Jiansheng’s face soured instantly.

Su Yang looked puzzled. What trouble? Was there actually someone Ye Jiansheng feared in this world?

The vehicle rapidly approached, and Su Yang finally saw that the driver was none other than Ye Wantong.

Ye Wantong drove up to them, jumped out of the car in a rush, ran straight to Su Yang, and with arms outstretched, shielded him behind her.

”Dad, what are you doing!” Ye Wantong asked urgently.

”Nothing at all!” said Ye Jiansheng. ”We’re just chatting.”

”Chatting?” Ye Wantong looked skeptical. She walked up to Ye Jiansheng and reached out to touch his sword box.

Ye Jiansheng stepped back, and Ye Wantong became frantic, ”You drew your sword!”

”I... I didn’t...” Ye Jiansheng’s voice clearly lacked confidence.

”Didn’t you? Then why are you afraid to let me touch the sword box!” Ye Wantong insisted urgently. ”The sword box still has the aura of the sword qi, right? You drew your sword, and moreover, you made a move!”

”I... I...” Ye Jiansheng said awkwardly, ”A Terrestrial Immortal was passing by just now, and I sparred with him!”

Su Yang’s eyes widened in disbelief. That lie was so blatant!

”You’re lying to me!” Ye Wantong pointed at Su Yang and said, ”These two huge pits under his feet, they must be from fighting with you. You... you wanted to kill him, didn’t you?”

”I didn’t...” Ye Jiansheng said.

”You definitely did!” Ye Wantong said anxiously. ”Right after Mr. Chen left, you came out and said you had something to deal with. You definitely knew that Su Yang was here and came out specifically to make things difficult for him. If Ying’er hadn’t messaged me, I wouldn’t have known about this at all. What... what are you really trying to do?”

”I really wasn’t going to do anything!” Ye Jiansheng said with a face full of grievance. ”Don’t believe me? Ask Su Yang, what did I do?”

Ye Wantong turned to Su Yang, who said softly, ”It’s fine, Elder Ye probably just wanted to ensure that I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, he wouldn’t really kill me!”

”Hey!” Ye Jiansheng got anxious. ”Su, you scoundrel, why are you spouting such nonsense!”

Su Yang didn’t even glance at Ye Jiansheng. Old man, I might not be able to beat you, but I surely can trap you!

”You still say it’s not true!” Ye Wantong’s eyes immediately reddened. ”Dad, you... you once said you wouldn’t trouble Su Yang. I may have given him the Immortal Herbs, but he did save my life after all. How... how could you treat him like this?”

”I really didn’t...” Ye Jiansheng was so anxious he was pacing in circles.

”I will not believe what you say!” Ye Wantong bit her lip and suddenly declared, ”My life was saved by Su Yang. If you dare to kill Su Yang, then... then I... I will die with him!”

Ye Wantong didn’t know where she had mustered the courage to say those last words.

That single sentence shocked both Su Yang and Ye Jiansheng. The latter was terrified by his daughter’s words, while Su Yang was somewhat bewildered.

He suddenly started to believe what Ye Jiansheng had said. Ye Wantong’s feelings for him seemed a bit off!

”Miss Ye, you’ve misunderstood!” Su Yang quickly said, ”Elder Ye didn’t come to kill me, he just wanted to have a brief exchange with me, to teach me some martial arts!”

”Right!” Ye Jiansheng nodded vigorously in agreement.

”You don’t have to speak for him!” Ye Wantong said directly, ”In any case, I won’t let him kill you!”

Su Yang: ”...”

Ye Jiansheng: ”...”

”You go first, I’ll hold him off!” Ye Wantong said to Su Yang with concern.

”I really don’t need to...” Su Yang said awkwardly.

”Stop talking nonsense and go!” Ye Wantong said, ”Take my car and leave! Hurry up!”

”I...” Su Yang still wanted to speak.

”Go now!” Ye Wantong urged, ”What are you still doing talking, get moving!”

Su Yang looked at Ye Jiansheng, who waved his hand helplessly, ”Scram, scram, we’ll explain next time!”

”Then I’m really leaving!” After saying this, Su Yang didn’t wait for Ye Jiansheng to respond and immediately drove away from this place of trouble.

Watching Su Yang leave, Ye Wantong finally breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed onto the ground, shaking.

Ye Jiansheng landed beside Ye Wantong and sighed softly, ”Is it really worth doing this?”

Ye Wantong looked at Ye Jiansheng, her cheeks slightly red, ”He saved my life, I... I have to help him, how could it not be worth it?”

”Is that really the only reason?” Ye Jiansheng asked softly.

Ye Wantong’s face turned red and she lowered her head, not speaking for a long time. She hadn’t realized herself that her feelings for Su Yang had actually begun to change after that time in the cave on the mountaintop. And during those nights in Beiguan Town, sharing a room, as Su Yang sat with his back to her, meditating in silence, her feelings deepened gradually.

The day Su Yang returned from Beiguan Town to Zhongzhou City, she went to pick up Lin Dong. It seemed like she was taking care of this poor child. In reality, she wanted to see Su Yang more.

However, after seeing Su Yang, she couldn’t say a single word of the myriad of thoughts in her heart.

After getting back home, she thought about contacting Su Yang many times, but she never dared to make the call. Because she still remembered the words she said to Su Yang at the station, the words she wanted to take back, but could never retrieve.

Moreover, she knew about Ying’er’s feelings for Su Yang. Ying’er was her best friend, and she couldn’t take away the one Ying’er loved!

Perhaps, just as she once said, what was between her and Su Yang could never be possible!

After a long silence, Ye Wantong said softly, ”Just so!”

Ye Jiansheng looked up at the sky and said softly, ”If that’s the case, let’s go back.”

Ye Jiansheng turned and walked away, and Ye Wantong closed her eyes slightly. A clear, translucent tear slid slowly down her pale, jade-like cheek.

Uttering these four words seemed to have taken all her strength, and to have cut off all her hope!

After a long silence, Ye Wantong opened her eyes. Looking at Ye Jiansheng standing in the distance, quietly waiting for her, she suddenly said, ”Dad, teach me cultivation.”

”Don’t you hate cultivation the most?” Ye Jiansheng asked, ”Do you not hate it anymore?”

”I hate it!” Ye Wantong said.

Ye Jiansheng asked in surprise, ”Then why?”

”He saved my life, and I owe him,” Ye Wantong said. ”So, I want to learn cultivation, and one day, if I can save him once, I’ll have repaid my debt!”

Ye Jiansheng looked at his daughter and sighed softly. He knew that Ye Wantong still couldn’t let go.

Ye Jiansheng’s cultivation reached the heavens, and Ye Wantong was a rare genius, but she was still a frail girl, a fact that was hard to believe if spread abroad.

Ye Wantong hated cultivation, and Ye Jiansheng had tried many methods, none of which could get her to cultivate.

But now, for Su Yang’s sake, she had decided to start cultivation.

The depths of feelings are mysterious, starting without cause, only to grow deeper and deeper!

Three years later, the Ye Family produced another Female Sword Immortal!
