Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!

Since her classes had started, Fu Mingxue hadn’t been able to get home this early and sit down for breakfast.

”Nothing beats a home-cooked meal.”

Mrs. Fu couldn’t suppress a smile at her daughter’s words.

”All this food, and it still can’t shut your mouth.”

Mrs. Qin had picked up the two children yesterday.

The Qin family could let the brother and sister stay here for a few days, but it wasn’t possible for them to stay for too long.

After all, her in-laws were taking care of two children as well!

That was why she had picked them up yesterday.

The brother and sister had been very reluctant to leave.

But they knew they couldn’t be too much of a bother to their grandmother.

Fu Mingxue continued eating her breakfast.

When she finished, she couldn’t help but pat her stomach—she was definitely full.

Mrs. Fu glanced at her. ”I believe your sister-in-law was discharged today.”

”Oh, really? It’s good that she’s out.” Fu Mingxue hadn’t been to visit her in a long time.

”I’ve prepared a few things. Why don’t you go over and see her in a little while? You won’t have time otherwise for the next few days.”

Fu Mingxue thought for a moment and nodded. ”Alright, I can do that. I’ll go over in a little while. Oh, by the way, Mom, I have tomorrow off, so we can take the kids to the Forbidden City.”

”Oh, you have a day off?”

This came as a surprise to Mrs. Fu.

Fu Mingxue was taken aback.

”What’s so strange? Why wouldn’t I have a day off? Tomorrow is Sunday, so there’s no school. Plus, I don’t have to go to the auto plant anymore. Doesn’t that free up my time?”

’Of course, this was all because she wanted to take her mom to see the Forbidden City.’

’Otherwise, she had more than enough of her own things to deal with.’

’After all, you have to make time for things. If you just squeeze your schedule a bit, the time appears, right?’

’Besides, if you want to be busy, there will always be endless things to do.’

’If you’re willing to put up with hardship, you’ll find there’s no end to it.’

’So, it’s best to just take a day off!’

Mrs. Fu actually really wanted to go see the Forbidden City.

”Well... maybe we should go next time you’re free?”

”Let’s just set it for tomorrow. It’s perfect since I’m free. We can always go again next time. There’s no harm in going a few times. Our family can take more photos, too.”

Fu Mingxue had a camera, which had been a reward dropped by her system once.

It was considered a big-ticket item.

Mrs. Fu loved having her picture taken, so she beamed and happily agreed.

”Then let me get the things I prepared. You should head over to Wenhao’s place now. By the way, do you know where they live?”

”I don’t. I’ll go to the Qin family’s home and ask Mom to take me.”

’She really didn’t want to face Gao Lan alone.’

Mrs. Fu nodded. ”That works too.”

She got up, went inside, and came out with two bags of things she had already prepared.

Fu Mingxue leaned over and asked curiously, ”What’s in them?”

”Two tins of malted milk extract, two pounds of apples, and two pounds of brown sugar. What, is that not enough?”

Back in the village, a single pound of brown sugar would have been considered a very generous gift.

But here in the city—she wasn’t sure what the expectations were.

Still, by all rights, it should be enough.

After all, it was a gift between sisters-in-law, and her daughter hadn’t gone empty-handed on her last hospital visit, either.

Fu Mingxue quickly replied, ”It is, it’s enough! This is already wonderful!”

”Good. You should get going, then! Come home early.”

”Okay.” Fu Mingxue hung the two net bags on the handlebars of her bicycle.

Then she wheeled the bicycle out.

Hers was an electric model, so it was naturally quite fast.

Mrs. Qin was quite surprised to see her daughter-in-law arrive.

”Mingxue, what are you—”

Fu Mingxue quickly explained, ”I got out of my classes early today and don’t have anything planned for this evening, so I want to go visit my sister-in-law. The problem is, I don’t know where she lives. Mom, can you give me my brother-in-law’s address? I’ll head over right now.”
