Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!

The next day at 4:30 a.m., Qin Wenhao got out of bed without a sound.

Fu Mingxue, on the other hand, slept until about six.

When she first opened her eyes, she was still a bit dazed.

She had the feeling that she didn’t know where she was.

Then, she saw the familiar ceiling, and her memories came flooding back.

She was instantly wide awake.

She subconsciously glanced at the spot beside her but saw no one.

She knew Qin Wenhao was already up.

She didn’t linger in bed, either. She got dressed and went outside.

Just in time to see her mother sweeping the floor.

She immediately rushed forward and threw her arms around her mother.

”Mom, I missed you so much!”

Mrs. Fu pushed her away with a look of distaste. ”You haven’t even brushed your teeth or washed your face yet. Hurry up and go do that.”

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’We haven’t seen each other in so long, and she’s not showing even a hint of missing me?’

She sighed.

Then she went to brush her teeth and wash her face.

”Mom, I have to go back to Beijing tomorrow, and I’ll probably be there until after the New Year. You and the two kids should come back to Beijing with me! It’ll be perfect, we can celebrate the New Year in Beijing City.”

The moment Mrs. Fu heard this, she said, ”Back tomorrow? Why so soon?”

”Yes. I promised I’d go back and teach for a month, so I have to go. Do you want to come with me? If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. Once I’m finished over there, I can come back and celebrate the New Year with you all. It’s all the same.”

It was all the same to Mrs. Fu where she celebrated the New Year.

However, since her daughter was going back for a month, she would definitely have to go along.

’This girl has gotten way too thin these past three months. I have to find a way to build her back up.’

”Alright, we’ll go back then.”

”Okay. Have Qin Wenhao book our tickets.”

Just then, Qin Wenhao pushed open the door and came in.

He happened to overhear them and understood that his mother-in-law and the two children would be going back to Beijing as well.

”I’ll book your tickets in a little while. But since you’re bringing the two kids this time, you’ll need to be careful.”

”It’ll be fine as long as you buy tickets for the sleeper car.” Fu Mingxue wasn’t worried about anything happening on the train.

’Her fists weren’t just for show, after all.’

’If any traffickers dared to lay a hand on her children, they’d have her iron fists to answer to.’

Qin Wenhao nodded.

He was going to buy sleeper tickets anyway; that went without saying.

Mrs. Fu saw that the young couple had it all worked out.

Now that it was confirmed they were leaving tomorrow,

she started to get anxious.

”If we’re leaving tomorrow, then I’ve got a lot of things to pack.”

”Mom, you don’t need to bring too much. Just two or three changes of clothes will be enough, since we’ll be buying new clothes there anyway. As for everything else—don’t bother. It’s not like we’re never coming back. Besides, we’ll have the two kids with us, and too much luggage will be inconvenient.”

Mrs. Fu shot her a look. ”And what about all this stuff here? Doesn’t it need to be put away properly?”

Fu Mingxue was speechless. ’Okay, I’ll just pretend I didn’t say anything.’

’Wait a minute, my own mother isn’t even being nice to me anymore.’

’I just got back!’

”Ma, you’re always keeping things tidy here. I can take care of the rest. I’ll probably spend the New Year here, but if I get some leave, I’ll head back then.”

Mrs. Fu glanced at him.

’This couple really had it worse than Niu Lang and the Weaver Girl,’ she thought.

They’d only just reunited and already had to part ways again. If he wasn’t leaving for a mission, she was.

”Alright.”

Even though she’d agreed, she still had plenty she needed to get busy with and pack up.

For instance, the quilts and duvet covers—didn’t they need to be washed and put away?

The kitchen also had to be cleaned from top to bottom.

She had to sort through the perishable and non-perishable items, and then give her son-in-law clear instructions.

Fu Mingxue still had to go to work, so she didn’t have time to chat for long.

She first took a moment to cuddle and fuss over her two children.

”My sweet Hao Hao, my sweet Qiaoqiao, did you miss Mommy?”
